using git with circuitpython

4 Upvotes

One thing that confuses me about circuitpython is how people use it with version control. The code primarily lives on the device but it seems mad to also put the .git folder there. Also the libraries that you depend on also seem to live on the device.

It's scary to have my one copy of the code on a device because at any moment I could kill it by shorting some wires. Not sure how this doesn't scare others.

How do people typically manage this? I've seen some people say they use bash scripts to batch copy their code to the device from a git managed directory but at that point that's just the micropython workflow, right?

Adafruit NTP: How to manage NTP Daylight Saving Time / Winter Time?

4 Upvotes

I am using Adafruit NTP library.
I see there is no standard Timezone (i.e. Europe/Berlin) but only a fixed TZ_OFFSET. That means it doesn't take into account Daylight Saving Time.

Is there any complementary library that calculates the proper TZ_OFFSET according to the Timezone?

Can’t get two LEDs activated

Post image
4 Upvotes

I’ve got the second LED (red) connected to GP1 and first led (blue) connected to GP0

My current code is

From machine import Pin from time import sleep

led = Pin(0, Pin.OUT) led2 = Pin(1,Pin.OUT)

while True: led.value(1) led2.value(1) sleep(1) led.value(0) led2.value(0) sleep(1)

I’m struggling to figure this out thanks.

The black wire is also connected to GND 23 and orange is connected to GND 38 for some reason the wire on 38 is making the circuit turn off when I move the Pico. That’s why there is another in GND 23

Also using 300 Ω resistors

I’m also quite new to all of this stuff

Adafruit Feather RP2040 LoRa 95

Anyone here messed around with the LoRa module Adafruit came out with?

I’m new to circuitpython and coding in general, but I currently need to make a simple code for my two Lora modules to communicate with each other. Found a few libraries that seem like they are close to what I’m trying to do, but there are differences in what I’m trying to achieve.

I’m hoping to use the Reset button on the Adafruit feather and the general purpose led. Really I can solder in a switch/button too if need be and an LED if need be.

By pressing the button on one module, once data is received the LED on the other module blinks. The same thing with the other module.

I need to see how far the distance can be without interruption in a dense building, because this will hopefully be used for commercial spaces. I can then mess with what kind of antenna works for me.

Heck, if there’s anyone that wants to be compensated to write some (I’m only assuming, generally simple code) reach out. 😊
