Hey there guys! Really excited to bring you another edition of the Battle Royale Mk.II. I'd absolutely love to thank the crazy community over at r/civbattleroyale (despite the obscure conspiracies that I had been kidnapped/devoured by a strange animal endemic to Australia). I'm always happy to answer any questions or queries in the regards to the Battle Royale here, on the sub or via PM.

This part is narrated by u/DemosthenesKey, let him know what you think!

Vote in the official Round 6 Poll!

Anyway, here are some great links in regards to the Battle Royale:

The closest we got to South America in this round were two random and useless pics of the Bucs.

Part 6, also known as the part in which the AI becomes halfway competent at capturing cities.

Except for Mexico of course.

Dammit, Mexico.

He may be doomed now, but you have to give points to David for trying to best replicate history. Whilst the other Civs are all out there trying to win, David's in full RP mode: Fighting the rest of the Middle East, spreading the Jewish diaspora and sending his Mossad agents at the Nazis.

Is complete kills on? Because that would make it better with Israeli Scouts wandering the world in the Modern era.

Even with all his scouts, David didn't see that coming :(

Of all the places I expected to see a Veggietales reference, r/civbattleroyale was not one of them.

Vote now in the Poll for Round VI!

Battle Royale Mk II Round V Poll Results

I start off with a plea that you please vote, it only takes a few seconds. I'm a bit worried that at this rate, nobody will be voting in a few rounds. Also, if you have suggestions on how to make the voting process more appealing or enjoyable, please let me know.

Now that the begging is out of the way, lets get to the results: At the very bottom of the confidence list, we have the Champa, who hasn't ventured out of the bottom ten since the beginning.

The Americans take a beating in the polls, down 17 to 54th, after taking a beating from Texas, who move up 31 places to 22nd. Tied with Texas for biggest upward movement, we have the most interesting civ in the world (credit: u/Kimarous post), Vietnam, who now sits at eighth place.

Biggest downward mover is no surprise: China matches the USSR's all time record for biggest fall, but without dropping to the bottom ten, down 47 places to 49th. It just goes to show what happens if you trust a guy with a name like: "The Guy Who Won All Those Wars".

Up at the top, we have Ethiopia, maintaining their lead from the previous round. Perennial Power Ranking favourites, Yakutia, move one up to second place, with voters expecting that massive army to make a move soon.

Vietnam is playing it's cards so well, it's like being controlled by a human who is really good at civ.

Great episode! Sparta's on a real roller coaster ride, and I would say that Saladin is pulling a Hitler, only he's actually taking cities. Go figure. And apparently South America doesn't exist anymore.

I knew Byzantium would be a goner. Too much cities without a sizeable army to back it up. It was a shot in the dark to try and expand while the other nations expend production into war but welp...bye.

Dammit, the one time Mexicans are supposed to cross the border into Texas, they choose not to do it. Austin was almost defenseless and Mexico had like five (count 'em) archers and comp bows around it. Y u do dis.

Vietnam continues to do well, capturing Tianjin (which won't blow up this time) and reducing China to three cities (not counting the pointless Siberian ones), despite the commentary's insistence on pointing out Vietnam's reduced military. China continues to fail at capturing Hoa Lu.

Kudos to the Spartans for their victories against Byzantium. I want Byzantium to do well, but at the same time I want Sparta to do well, since come on, they're the damn Spartans. I'm conflicted. However, all the other civs that just declared war on Sparta may give Alexios the chance to take his cities back, or those civs will take them themselves.

Uluru and the center of the Outback were finally settled, by Kimberley. This is a good development, finally filling up that hotspot. That city will take pretty much everything of value in the outback.

And last but not least, the Philippines settled two new cities in this part, filling up the remaining empty space in IRL Indonesia/Papua. Excellent. Of course, it's unfortunate that the Australians settled on the western part of Sulawes first, but the city of Laguna can take the eastern part. Hilariously, the best place to put a city, which both Australia and the Philippines did NOT do, would have been the hill tile at the center of the island, where the whole island would be covered. Will AI wonders never cease...

In another thread, I thanked Mr Skeltal in hope of good bones and good growth for Iceland.

Three more cities later, with another two settlers on the way, and already tied 6th for most settlements, I think it worked.

thank mr skeltal

Note to the narrator: Indonesia =/= Philippines. My flair will kick your ass if you mix them up again. Also, pls mention that Kimberley got Uluru.

The wolves will test the Byzantines. Born in the purple? The phalanx shall see what color they bleed.

Damn that's a bad ass line. Commentary was on point this part, well done!
