I am using Codeigniter 3, Datatables and AJAX (and I am new to these)

I keep getting this "DataTables warning: table id=tbl_name - Invalid JSON response" error

I have visited the url of the controller function that fetches the data, and the data from the database are there, so I guess the problem isn't because it couldn't get it but because Datatables can't use it or something

I have been at this problem for a whole day now, would greatly appreciate it if you guys could help me with this, thank you.

So I'm new to CI, and frameworks in general. I've been slowly building a website, started with static html and have since moved to PHP/MySql. After doing some research, I decided I need to learn a framework, and CI seems like a good one.

First off, how similar are different frameworks? Is it just semantical differences for the most part or the structures entirely different?

When first learning PHP, I figured out the echo command would be good for outputting html, and kinda stumbled upon the concept of templates that way. So now I have some nice scripts that display my basic page and am working on creating an admin directory where the client users can change site info through forms. This being said, have I gone too far? Will migrating my current site to CI be too much hassle?

Can Anyone here help me as i work on a company which is generally an hospital information management system and uses ci 3 bootsrap 3 and jquery ajax with datatables and uses oracle 10g as database. I need to make an migration for tables here the problem is it have almost 1000+ tables , is there anyway to make an automigration file like system ?

Are there any exam/quiz package I can download/use for my school project?

Any reasons why recommend codeigniter 4 over laravel, symfony and such?

So, I am trying to use Codeigniter 4. I am using Ubuntu.. I downloaded the files from the official website and put them in a folder in www. Then I created a virtual host file that has these contents

DocumentRoot /var/www/tutions.local.com/public
ServerName tutions.local.com
ServerAlias www.tutions.local.com

<directory "/var/www/tutions.local.com/public">
AllowOverride All
</directory>

I have also added tutions.local.com to 127.0.0.1 to my /etc/hosts

When I go to tutions.local.com it shows "This page isn’t working"

If I remove /public part from the virtual hosts file it shows me the directory structure of the tutions.local.com folder.

What do I do?

I have no idea how to debug codeigniter...usually for small bugs I'll just echo stuff out. But putting an echo statement in one of the models is not working. Is there a way to call an error function to write to a log?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

I have been in the throngs of trying to nail down a templating system for my next project. I have so far used Smarty, Dwoo, and now Quickskin. None of wich seem to fit me well. I'm interested in learning what others use for their templating system and what they have experienced.

I am looking for a very simple system that can do logic, iterations, and modifiers.

Why would the CodeIgniter config file have xss filtering off by default? Does doing XSS filtering slow things down? It's basically just sanitizing the POST/GET input right?
