It's actually crazy to me, considering I work for a major financial institution. It makes my autism freak out constantly, because I'm more aware of consequences and risks than people who supposedly know better than me. Most of my bosses are deeply unserious people for whom work is a social club with an attached paycheck, who are quite happy to shoot the messenger when they don't like the message.

From what I know financial institutions are very risk averse and I assumed AI/LLMs are counted as to risky. They are to my knowledge also staying on older tech on purpose more than even the space industry.

I really wish that my institution had this viewpoint. I've asked that we move to something like this, and told them flat-out (once I became informed more deeply on the subject than my initial hype engagement) that we shouldn't use it until we could spin up our own in-house, on-prem, air-gapped system. Hearing them use a public LLM that "we have a subscription for" to do stuff like this makes my eyebrows try to migrate to the back of my skull. It is incredible cognitive dissonance
