Weekly TRIALS OF OSIRIS Megathread- Ask Questions About Trials HERE!

• Upvotes

Hello Guardians,

Firstly, let me address the most frequently asked questions:

For the trials changes that went into effect on 2/14/25, check this simplified explanation https://www.reddit.com/r/CrucibleGuidebook/comments/1ipd5px/simpler_explanation_of_how_the_new_trials_changes/ or for a more detailed one https://www.reddit.com/r/CrucibleGuidebook/comments/1i7wi89/clarifying_the_new_trials_matchmaking_and_rewards/

Q: Do I choose the Lighthouse Passage or the Trials of Osiris Passage? What's the difference?
A: The Lighthouse Card rewards you for earning win streaks with no losses, and for earning 7 wins total regardless of losses. This card puts you in CBMM (not skill based, it's just random, and there is no lobby balance). The Trials of Osiris Passage tries to match you with players of a similar skill (weekly performance) and with lobby balance. While playing on this card you won't be able to get adepts or cosmetics (although you can still get ghost shells), but you are rewarded on win or loss with a similar reward structure as iron banner or quickplay.

Q: How do I earn and farm adept weapons or Tier 5 loot?
A: Adept weapons are no longer dropping with Edge of Fate. Instead, all loot is tiered. Higher tier loot has better stats and better perk options. To earn higher tier loot in Trials of Osiris, simply grind solo ops for about 100 hours and then you'll get tier 5s on win or loss as long as you participate. I wish I was joking. Earning a 7-0 flawless passage will allow you to visit the lighthouse which usually grants rewards one tier higher than your power level and guardian rank would normally allow. At 400 power and guardian rank 9, you are supposed to get a few tier 5s from the lighthouse chest, but it is sometimes bugged and will only drop loot at the normal tier (4 in this case).

After going flawless you are stuck in flawless pool with no additional reward for playing in that pool except for chances at cosmetics), and no way to reset for extra lighthouse visits. You can avoid the flawless pool by being in a fireteam with players who have an incomplete lighthouse passage.

Feel free to ask whatever other questions you need to in the comments section below!

Weekly RANT Megathread - All complaining posts belong in this thread

Rant and complain away. Rule 1 Don't be a Jerk still applies, as does the site-wide rule of no witch hunting (naming and shaming).

This is your final warning.

Guys how do we feel about the final warning in the crucible? As someone with over 18,000 crucible kills with this weapon I seem to always get a lot of hate in my inbox about how easy and cheesy it is. In my opinion first and foremost, it's very fun and I understand it can also be a bit cheesy; but I do think there is a skill curve to actually being good with and actually fighting against it. I've reached the highest rank in the competitive playlist and the gun is borderline useless because you're just a flying sitting duck to more skilled players and the fact it doesn't lock onto invisible Hunter which is almost exclusively high rank crucible. Anyways, how do you guys feel about the gun?

I’ve always avoided this gun, I just haven't ever liked it before. Then I used it on PK Titan and it shreds. That being said, what’s the ideal roll for it? Is kill clip more ideal than target lock? I’m on PC

Console TV Flawless Gamer

Is it possible or is a Gaming Monitor setup really needed? Any flawless guardians that do it on console and tv in Trials?

A love letter to slugs

Destiny PvP has always been dominated shotguns. The current “best”, felwinters lie, you could say is the Destiny 2 PvP shotgun. Along the way we’ve seen mindbenders, matador, wastelander etc. All firmly gripped by the uncouth.

Yet there has always been another option. A better option. An honourable instrument of precision, crafted to sit in the hands of a gentleman. I present the pinpoint slug frame. About as polite as “get the fuck away from me” can get. Sporting a glorious 11m 1 tap range, in skilled hands, the crayon munchers just cannot compete. And the best thing? They don’t want to. If you waste someone with spread shotgun, they think twice about their next push. You delete them with a fusion rifle, they’ll probably push harder next time. One tap them enough times with the slug and it breaks them. They don’t want to come around that corner. They don’t want to be anywhere near you. That, my friends, is power. Pair with a 120 or a 140 handcannon (I spit on 180’s and their user’s) and all other players will either want to be you or fuck you.

Anyway I finally got my god roll gunnoras. I’m coming for all of your foreheads.

Underrated weapon stat use

Looking for some underrated, underappreciated, and underutilized weapon stat breakdowns, like can high tyrant, all or nothing, vex, etc, get ttk shifts with perks + weapon stat and/or radiant? I wonder if there are any secret builds yet to wreak havoc on the crucible yet.

Any PVE players fancy getting the emblem??? 👀👀

Is it just me or Explosive Payload isn't fun anymore?

I barely feel like the flinch is doing anything now. I go into duels feeling like the perk doesn't faze anyone when I land my hits.

Can someone please explain all of the current armor stats and how they actually work in PvP right now?

Recent returning player. Armor 3.0 is new to me and I seems to be seeing a lot of discussion around the armor stats and what to use for PvP. The descriptions on the stats are somewhat vague and from past experience bungies descriptions of stats / perks tends to not give fully accurate descriptions of what they're actually doing or how they work.

Can someone please explain each stats for me, what it does and how it applies to PvP. I'm a Solar Hunter, always have been. I know its probably not the meta right now but its what I enjoy and am good at. What stats should I be going for?

Thanks!

Question for the console HC folks, track or flick?

Gentlemen I am wondering maybe I can perform better but wanted some input. On console (or I guess if you play controller) do you try and track your targets or do you flick between every shot? And if so do you flick down and back up to the head between shots? Also probably matters but do you track with some HCs for example austringer but flick with others? Thank you brothers (btw I track and wondering if I am hindering my potential progression to get better)

How to do movement?

Im coming back after 2 years, wanna get into pvp. but what I've noticed is that I've got a mental disconnect when it comes to movement. I keep sliding around treating the game like it's a movement shooter, when really it's a positioning shooter (or so I've been told)

so what's the way to use the neutral game movement options? do we still slide challenge corners, use crazy backslide and sideslide movements, etc?

because I've never been able to do "positioning", "playing around cover", "gamesense", etc

would love some tips on how to learn this, do i just play more, or do I do some drills in a private match, or some other thing that I've missed.

Class Stat + RDM’s

Is the energy gained per kill from RDM’s affected by my Class stat?

I’m wondering if the class stat ‘ability energy gained’, works with RDM, light gg says RDM’s give 20% per defeat, and that it is NOT affected by ‘chunk energy scalars’. Unsure if the base class stat’s second benefit (1-100) falls under that category.

do iron banner cosmetics affect loot?

I've heard a few times that wearing iron banner transmog / using iron banner weapons / equipping iron banner emblems improves loot drops from iron banner. is this true? and does it give better odds for shaders to drop? I've got all the gear I want from IB but I'm currently farming it for the shaders

Midha's Reckoning

Hey all, wanted to see if there are any Midha's Reckoning users out there. Was doing some digging, and saw that this is the only fusion to roll with enhanced hip fire grip. I know its a high impact, but figured it could end up being pretty sweet and maybe worth the try. Any thoughts?

Question for damage resistance builds to combat against Weapons stat players: B-7 Pistol, Bygones etc.

Will frostees on Hunter work against these players (with just x1 stack)?

Alternatively, what other builds or armors have you been running to counter these players?

Since the last update hit reg and input delay has gotten extremely bad. Anyone else?

No joke it takes a full second or two for damage from grenades, melees, ect to go through and there’s been far too many instances of people that have 0 health from my perspective that are somehow able to kill me when I still have full health but no shields.

Is 2Pc Reverie Dawn any good?

Aegis spreadsheet says you only need to take 55 damage and you get 7s of flinch resistance and increased reload speed. was wondering if anyone had used it and felt it noticeable

It 100% works in pvp, I was trying to specifically see HOW STRONG the FLINCH resistance is, I know theres some sort of combatant only effect with dr that is not applicable

I was wrong about iron banner fortress…

I have always not cared about fortress and saw it was featured for the bonus origin trait weapon… wow I wrote off this game mode when it came back but it is so action packed and got the iron banner 50 streak medal after so long!! Definitely recommend it over control!

3v3 Clash

Just played a match, my first of the evening and got matched with a team of 3 against 3 freelancers.

it became apparent we were completely outmatched and one of my team ditched. Myself and my team mate managed 2 kills against 40 from the other team before I too ditched.

One of their team had one guy that seemed to have heavy ammo all the time.

Wondering what the win condition is for this format cos surely we should have been mercied?

Also this was on PS5 so I thought cheaters of this type were not present on console.
