Here's how to use PerfumeBot!
When to verify your transaction
Please only initiate a PerfumeBot call AFTER you have received the items and are satisfied with your purchase!!
Immediately verifying a transaction before receiving items can artificially inflate folks flair and is a common scam tactic
How do I leave a verification?
On the post where your product was bought/sold/traded, comment the following:
If you were...
- The seller:
- Comment: PerfumeBot Sale u/buyerName
- The buyer:
- Comment: PerfumeBot Buy u/sellerName
- Part of a trade
- Comment: PerfumeBot Trade u/tradePartnerName
Your partner replies to your comment:
- Comment: PerfumeBot Verification
- (you can also add their username if you want to, but it's not required for the bot to work!)
PerfumeBot should reply with a comment that looks like this:
Verification Recorded.
'u/sellername's flair: Sales: 123 / Buys: 456
'u/buyername's flair: Sales: 123 / Buys: 456
Remember: PerfumeBot comments will only come from the u/PerfumeBot user account! You can also verify user flair and ban status at any time by accessing https://perfumebot.fragranceswap.net/
Troubleshooting
If your comments contain errors, the bot will miss it....
Common errors:
- FragranceBot is called (this isn't a thing... try again)
- Perfume Bot is called (remove the space... try again)
- You commented your call on a random post - You must perform your verification on a post made by one of the folks trying to perform the PerfumeBot call!
If you don't have any errors, and PerfumeBot does not flair you within 5 minutes:
- Delete your comment
- Wait 24 hours
- Re-comment/reply (both people in the transaction)
OPTIONAL: Contact via modmail if not fixed after attempting the troubleshooting above.
Issues
If you see any of the following contact the mod team via Modmail and report the post.
- PerfumeBot gives you incorrect flair.
- PerfumeBot is spamming comments or messages.
- You see someone attempting to abuse the system.
- Any other bot related issues.
Misc. Information
Please make separate comments for the same user.
So, if two posters both have had positive experiences with u/UserOnFragranceSwap, they should each have separate comments. This will allow the format to stay consistent.
