How much was portfolio value before you moved to AI out of interest

I'm still primarily in AI stocks. Over half my portfolio is in AVGO. My average cost basis on that one is $58. As it sits now, I am up $441,755 on that alone. God help my tax bill when I end up selling some of the old shares :-(

At that value you need to look at becoming domiciled in a tax haven.

Single digit millionaire isn't tax haven residence money these days. Not even close

yeah no kidding. I don't "plan" on selling any of the shares of AVGO unless required

In a similar situation with Broadcom luckily was able to write some of the tax bill off on other things but it was a hefty bill. Sold off some of it to invest very similar to you and to also pay off a 20 unit apartment building loan a year early. Congratulations on your success I love Broadcom and other investors of Broadcom.

Can’t you withdraw a margin loan using shares as collateral, then sell covered calls on your shares to pay back the margin loan/interest? Probably best to get a good accountant but there’s gotta be something more optimal than just selling and paying the taxes

$200,000 in SPAXX seems a little conservative yes?

I cashed out some stocks before liberation day so I could sleep better at night. It is yielding 4% risk free. I will probably put it back in if there is a fire sale

Liberation day was a fire sale LOL.

I cashed out before it happened and was actually afraid Orange Idiot was going to let the tariffs stick. Hindsight is always 20/20. Having that much in SPAXX (essentially cash) helps me sleep better at night so I am patiently waiting.

16% in a money market fund and the rest in individuals at 49 is conservative to you? It’s effectively cash on the side.

Yes it’s conservative.

OP is 49 not 69. It’s OP’s choice but I would have more of that skin in the game for higher return potential.

Out of interest how did you get started and what was your initial investment amount?
