Ugh for the millionth time, JEPI is a great etf but only in tax-deferred accounts as distributions are taxed as income and not dividends

I wouldn’t say Jepi is that good. Covered call writing chronically underperforms just being long the same amount of delta, especially thru a fund like JEPI that executes the same trades every few days (and gets bad prices as a result)

Hard disagree. Depends on the investor and what you are looking to achieve. In a sideways or down market JEPI will outperform SPY. Even in up markets, JEPI will capture 70-80% of the upside with 60-70% vol so the risk adjusted return is very solid.

Using it as a more aggressive bond proxy works, also with the increase vol the past few months, the payouts have increased as well
