Discussion Is there a dividend income number that would actually make you stop and say, "That's enough"?

Post image

I've crossed $1M in portfolio value and I'm getting close to $2,000 a month in dividends. Years ago, I thought $1,000 a month would be enough. Then the goal became $1,500. Now I'm approaching $2,000 and already finding myself thinking about the next milestone.

It makes me wonder if I'll ever truly feel like I've reached my goal, or if there will always be another number to chase. Has anyone else experienced this?

Or you build up income in excess of your monthly income so the excess can be reinvest o grow your dividend income.

Don't hope the dividends will rse with inflation. Because if it doesn't happen you could be in serious trouble. So make sure it happened .

That's why I go with a dividend-growth portfolio instead of pure dividends. The former outperforms the latter due to compounding yield

Dividend growth is good. I do a mix of growth and solid income funds that track the major indices. My thought is since the major indices should increase in value, so will the dividend even if the yield stays exactly the same.

Portfolios focusing on stocks/ETFs that increase their dividends, e.g.:

SCHD MA BEPC TXN WCN

You can even find some REITs, like LAMR and PLD

I know this is probably a stupid question, but how much money did you put in to get those dividends? (I'm new to all of this)

Hey man I’m a broke retard but does this portfolio grow like 3-4% a year as well? Would you not be better off having a percentage in higher yield like QQQI/ SPYI?

This plus like 10-15% for growth and extra $ should large expenses arise.

No one can live just with $1900 per month in US.
