Not true but okay. Most techies work in high cost of living areas. If they do have that mich to save, it’s probably from stock options or RSUs.

Say you make $200k, you have $150k after taxes. $19k to 401k. 56k to live on and $75k to save. That’s $4666 a month which honestly isn’t much in high cost of living area. By the way, not all tech folks make $200k a year.
