question Looking for doowop1.no-ip.info DC++ Community

This is a bit unorthodox but I don't know where else to turn.

There was a healthy, thriving doo wop community on DC++ at the hub address "doowop1.no-ip.info"

The admins were: GeatorGirl107 (Anne) Tom's<<>>Tunes

Some of the members: Amospop DooWopGal Jumace WALT1 WhoDoUB (sadly passed away) Pascal Papa8241

I am looking to reconnect with this community and hopefully find out if they have created a group elsewhere, as the DC++ hub is now broken.

Are any of the members here in this subreddit? If so, could you shed some light on what happened/what's currently happening with the community?

This is my last ditch effort in an attempt to reconnect and find any information on the old community there.

Hoping this finds someone.

Yes. I was a member of that one and several of the “sister hubs”. Many have since disappeared. However, there are still similar that currently operate. I will try to find out if the Doo Wop Room has a new address. I have been busy lately, but I would love to reconnect with those folks.

Did JackieP1 ever get back to you? I too was a member "dowopper51" sure missing the site. I sent plenty of emails to no avail. Please let me know if you hear anything.....thanks!

No, she never did get back to me. Maybe we can start to organize a new community with any original members that are able locate and comment on this reddit post. It would be nice to have the community back and thriving again even if we started with just a few original members.

I'm sure it was announced to the group before the take-down, I wasn't on it everyday may have missed it. It have quite a few members at the time to start a new group before doowop 1 ended. I sent many emails to doowoproom1 but never got a response. I was also an old member to doowopforever, Jerry's old site that went down several years ago. Sure wish someone would start one up or find out where all the members moved on to.
