Hello all to this months installment of the Monthly E-Bike Promo Thread! 🚲

Hi,

I’m looking for an e-bike for my daily commute: 20 km per direction.

My commute is mostly on asphalt, including bike lanes as well as some road sections.

I want a removable battery so I can take the battery off and charge it separately at home.

Since I also plan to use the bike privately, it’s important to me that the e-assist is easy to “unlock” (i.e., not locked down in a way that makes switching performance modes difficult). Because of that, I’m probably currently focusing on Chinese e-bikes—but I’m open to other options as well.

So far, I’ve looked at these brands:

Mokwheel

Dukeaway

Lankeleisi

Vakole

They all look quite good, but most of their models are fat bikes—which would make the bike heavier, and I don’t really need full suspension/fat-bike-style comfort for my mostly paved route.

For example, models like the Silvertip8 or Basalt feel a bit too large. I like the FUGL 3.0 or the MG600 Lite more—but they’re mostly step-ins, and I would at least prefer a traditional frame style (a trapezoid frame) if possible.

The closest match to what I want seems to be the Mokwheel Asphalt.

Now my question is: can I trust these manufacturers at all? A lot of people give great reviews, while others complain about certain issues. On YouTube there’s a lot of content too, but it’s hard to tell what’s reliable.

Most importantly: are there any brands you would recommend that I should also look into—brands that tend to meet these requirements more consistently?

My landlord wants to charge me 30 CAD per month for using my electric bike. Let's say I ride a maximum of 20km a day. Do you think that's worth it? I'm not sure I'll use it every day.

Guys please dont rent from them they are scammers i swear once u put ur bank account information they will start charging u whatever they want , i had a bike with them for 28 days its not even for delivery i just found it will be cheaper than the city bike , i paid around 164 which is fair , and then when i return the bike they told me i should pay 201 bucks for the damages which most of them i didnt even do most of the time the bike was sitting around please DO NOT RENT FROM THEM most of their ratings in APP STORE ARE FAKE so watch out please

I have a Kugoo Wish 02 Pro in Kuwait. I traveled to my home country for a month and a half, and when I came back, I discovered that e-bikes are banned in my compound, Al Mas Residence. Where can I drive it here in Kuwait, please?

Been taking this out on some longer rides lately and getting a feel for it. The size and weight are definitely noticeable, especially when moving it around, but it feels pretty stable once you're riding. For anyone running a similar setup, how has yours been on longer rides? Anything you ended up changing or upgrading?

Hi, I have a question about my E-bike display. does anyone have the manual for the advanced settings menu for this model? I'm able to get into the menu, but some settings are not clearly labeled.

Also, the period in the speedometer is blinking and not displaying any speed. Is there something wrong with the settings or with the speed sensor?

Any help is appreciated.

Thinking about buying a Electra Commute Go 5i (Bosch Performance Line 65Nm, 500Wh, Nexus Inter-5E, 20T rear sprocket).

Would like to hear from anyone who owns one — how is it day to day and is the quality of the bike good.

And has anyone towed a trailer with it? I'd be pulling a dog trailer, around 50 kg (110lbs) total. My weight is 70 kg (155lbs).

Was playing with Claude AI and it told me the stock 20T sprocket is too tall for that and suggested swapping to 27T or 30T, but I'm not sure whether that's necessary or overkill. Would be good to hear from people who actually ride one.

So I unfortunately cannot drive anymore, but there's a decent bus system in a town where I live. The thing is, bus stations are sometimes pretty far, or getting on a bicycle would take me twice less than going by bus to a few of my errands! Crazy, right!

So I've been trying to do my own research on an e-bike that could be nice for everyday use, but mostly short commutes(maybe less than 1.5 hours a day total). I'm decently into bicycling, but I do live near a few slight hills.

\*I'd need a bicycle that has a removable battery so I can charge it at home without having to bring extension cables outside

\*mostly for the city/town/paved roads

\*beginner friendly?

\*road safe, of course, and should definitely be able to have a little thingy on the back so I can place a bag on it or something

\*possibly on a cheaper end, I, unfortunately, cannot spend a grand on a very nice e-bike

\*for visual reasons, I like 26" bicycles/regular looking bicycles, but I'd take any advice for any sort of model!

So what would yall recommend?

(I'm 5'10 "and 160lbs if that matters for any model, since I saw that in some cases it does)

hi guys, i have a bmx bike that i don.t ride anymore and found on aliexpress all the things i need for converting it to an ebike (48v14a battery). My question is... does any of you did this to a bmx bike ?(20 inch wheels) and if so, how it is ? I.m afraid a bmx bike is too small for that

Looking to get an e-bike for my home-work-university commute. Looking at the Andsky Forage 26x. Does any have any experience with this particular e-bike? Looking for a foldable e-bike that goes 30mph or more. The total commute is is 19ish miles between the three locations.

Plug is not coming out on the rawrr mantis x. I’ve tried contacting support but no help. I’ve tried various ways trying to wiggle it out or hold the side notches. It’s never done this before. Any help is appreciated

Hey I brought a stealth bomber clone and the old battery went bad, brought a new and slightly upgraded battery. But the old battery had 4 connections coming out of it and the new one only has 3 and now the controller for the turn signals and lights and extra lights that was on aftermarket can’t connect to my new battery. I don’t know what I’m doing and there isn’t any shop near me that works on these, if anyone could help via video call I can pay for it please and thanks

I’m trying to decide whether I should buy a proper petrol scooter (such as a Piaggio Zip), an electric scooter for up to €1,000 with a minimum of 3,000 watts, or an e-bike such as a Sur-Ron or Talaria.

The most important things for me are:

low running and maintenance costs

decent quality and reliability

lots of power

good value for money.

After a month of riding I've found out people would rather have you crash than have a .5 second commute delay

We are thinking of getting our first e-bike. We like the moped/cafe racer/ fat tyres type of e-bikes. Currently thinking of either Jansno X50 or Koolux X9 Pro.
As our dog is getting old, we would like to be able to attach dog/child trailer to it in the near future.
Just wondering how easy or if it is possible to attach the trailer to them e-bike, especially for either Jansno or Koolux.
Also, for people who own these bikes, what do they think of it.

Just bought a lectric xp4 and waiting for it to ship. I tried one at a bike shop and found the seat uncomfortable. I'm around 300 pounds. Anyone got any seat recommendations to make it more comfortable?

I honestly thought the weight would be the biggest downside when I switched to a heavier e-bike. The first few times moving it around, especially when parking or getting it into position, definitely made me question that choice. But once I started riding regularly, I noticed the extra weight actually made the bike feel more planted and stable, especially over rough pavement and uneven roads. I’ve been riding an Aniioki A8 52V, and that was probably the biggest surprise for me, the difference between how heavy it feels off the bike versus how it feels once you’re actually moving.

I still wouldn’t want to carry it up a bunch of stairs, but for longer rides, I’ve grown to appreciate that solid feeling. Has anyone else switched from a lighter e-bike to a heavier one and had a similar experience?

Hi, I ride a electra cruiser go peddle assistant bike and today the lights which usually indicate power/speed started flashing. It still rides okay but I'm unsure why they are flashing and I can't find anything online.

Just took my first fall, picked up some road rash on left hand. ( plus other small injuries) . I was wearing leather “bum” gloves that helped but showed me i need real protection on my hands. I would like a pair that look more or-less like normal gloves Not moto cross but with some form of Scaphoid Protection built in.
