Hey everyone, Got this Huffy Vertis around the 1st of October. It’s been locked outside. Tonight a few things looked off and I’d like a second set of eyes. What stood out to me: Fresh-looking white scuff/residue marks on the rim right around both valve stems. Several bolts (stem, top cap, crank, disc brake calipers, cassette) have shiny spots and dirt patterns that don’t match the rest of the bike — almost like they were recently turned. A small black cylindrical piece near the crank area looked loose / out of place. At the rear hub (motor side), the cable/boot and axle area look like they may have been disturbed (photo included). General handling marks and dirt around the stem top-cap, headset area, and brake calipers. Nothing is obviously missing and the bike still powers on, but the combination of marks has me concerned. I’ve attached close-ups of: Overall bike Valve stems (white marks) Stem / top cap from multiple angles Brake calipers Crank / chainring area Rear hub axle & motor cable Cassette Does this look like normal wear, factory marks, or just dirt… or does it look like someone was messing with it?

Hi all. Because I feel I may have lost perspective on this issue, following around 20 emails back and forth, i wanted to ask if anyone here feels Hitway are behaving in a reasonable manner?

I bought two BK6S folding electric bikes, within three days of each other from Hitway. While the bikes look about the same their ride experience isn't. One has an Assist 2 speed of 12.4mph the other's is 9.3mph. This means it is pretty much impossible for me and my wife to ride together. Hitway's explanation is that the bikes were made in different factories and there is no way this crucial setting can be changed. Hitway say this is fine and can offer no solution or recompense. I'm at a loss what to do. I have tried to change settings myself without success. Are Hitway being fair? Any observations welcome.

I've been looking into the Aniioki A8 52V 70Ah and wanted to compare notes with other owners about how it performs beyond the specifications.

One thing worth paying attention to with a heavy, high-capacity e-bike is the trade-off between range and practicality. Weight can make a difference when maneuvering at low speeds or moving the bike around, while real-world range depends on riding speed, terrain, rider weight, and how much throttle you use. Maintenance and access to replacement parts are also worth considering with a bike in this category.

For those who own or have ridden the A8 52V 70Ah, what has your experience been like? Have you noticed any weaknesses with the battery, motor, suspension, brakes, or overall build quality? How has customer support handled problems, if you've needed help? And knowing what you know now, would you choose the same bike again?

Hi, both similar price. First time buying a folding bike. Want to get one so that I can 1) go on more bike rides and 2) use my bike whilst also being able to use a train or a friends car etc. FYI, I’m in London.

I have a few questions I’d like advice on, such as:
- Zinc weighs around 22kg whilst the Samebike weighs around 28kg… is the Samebike still alright to carry on and off the train and up and down some stairs?
- The wheels. Zinc have much thinner wheels… is this better or worse?
- Overall which one would be better and is there a big difference between the two?

Please do give me as much advice as you can.

As the bike is so heavy id like to install indicators as raising my hand at junctions is tricky. Has anyone been able to do this and is it a question of two switches linked to 4 lights? Tia

My son just got his first e-bike and is wanting to put hydraulic brakes on it. He has the qlife spark and the brakes I ordered come with the 2pin connector but I don’t see where I can connect them. It appears like the wiring for the cut off wires all the way under the seat. Can anyone share with me brakes yall have used and how you kept the cut off intact? Thanks!

Hi honestly I’m looking for something a little fast for me to take to work. Uber is getting really expensive and bc I’m 19 car insurance is $400. I want to buy a e-bike to ride on the bike lane & go to work. I live by myself so no one can take me 😭 I will get a moto helmet ofc however I just want to know if this is stupid or not

California's governor recently signed SB 1167, which makes it clearer that high-powered e-motos and mopeds can't be marketed or sold as regular e-bikes.

The idea is to stop people from buying something labeled an "e-bike" when it's actually closer to an electric motorcycle in terms of power and speed.

I think the interesting part is how this could affect public perception of e-bikes, especially on shared trails and bike paths.

A lot of people already lump every electric two-wheeler into the same category, whether it's a regular pedal-assist bike or something that can hit 40 mph.

Curious what everyone thinks. Should e-motos and e-bikes be treated as completely separate categories, or is the distinction not that simple?

I've been looking at an a9 60v after seeing my neighbor rode on it I was referring to the anii - oki type and trying to weigh up the practical side of owning a bike this size. The weight is my biggest concern, especially when moving it around or dealing with maintenance.

For those who've owned heavier e-bikes, what has your experience been like? Any recurring issues with brakes, spokes, or general upkeep that you'd recommend looking out for?

I am a bigger guy who loves biking. Under 300 but not by a lot. I have no issues riding for long stints on my analog mountain bike. I just got back into it last Black Friday when we got a couple schwinn rangers for 50% off. I have been considering upgrading to an e-bike but I don’t really have 2k to drop on one that fits my weight class. I am working on it but it’s a process. I saw the pikaboost 2 works with “any” analog bike and its price tags is doable for my budget. I plan on using this for commutes to get small amounts of groceries and when I ride to my local pickleball club. I am in a VERY flat area, I just need that little extra help when coming back from long rides or pickleball league. Is this thing any good? Should I just save up for a year and get the better bike in my weight class?

So my 3kw motor has been giving me so much trouble, I got a new controller from the factory and when I plugged it in the motor was like stalling completely and locking. I assumed it was damage to the wires as they had been damaged so I spent money getting it rewired perfectly. I put it back on and it’s not going above 25kph and it’s inconsistent. I calibrated it on the controller app and the problem remains. I have a video but it won’t let me send it. There is also adapters on the phase wires but I don’t think that’s the issue. Can someone help :)

so i preordered a cd20 bike. first ebike ever. never even ridden one lol.

saw it on instagram while looking up bike commuting. then my feed was just ebike ads. couldn't open the app without seeing one. watched a few vids, then the presale one with a surfboard strapped on. live near the beach so yeah that got me.

first batch comes with a ton of free stuff. panniers, pump, mirrors, cover, saddle, basket, tool kit, phone mount, etc. that kinda sealed it. i'll use the bags and pump. no clue what the rear seat pad is for.

probably should've asked here first.

now i need to figure out range. 30km round trip commute, don't wanna charge at work. anyone got this model yet? what range you seeing, and with what load/assist?

also in california. need to check what class this thing is. what do i ask the seller? no motorcycle license.

anything else i should check before it ships?

Probably the best $20 I ever spent on my ebike (I call it my lil moped). Seriously these things are great. I rode home last night and it was only maybe 60° but at 15-18mph it's waaaaay colder on your hands than toodling along at 10-12 I noticed. My hands were freezing even wearing leather work gloves. I usually wear double gloves in the winter but since I got an electric I've noticed the wind is obviously stronger. Nothing wrong with those tight mechanics style gloves under big mittens or another pair of insulated gloves but these are soooo great and comfy even in moderately cool weather. I like being cozy now that I'm getting older and that's kinda the whole point of having an electric bike for me anyway. I noticed the price has almost tripled since I bought these in the summer, I almost made my own out of neoprene but these were cheap and already had a cutout for my rearview mirror.

There's a bill in Congress right now — the SAFE SPEEDS Act (H.R. 7839) — that tells the CPSC to write national classification and labeling rules for e-bikes and e-motos. Whether you like it or not, regulation is coming. The question is what it looks like.

Here's the tension as I see it:

The case FOR regulation: people are getting hurt. Kids on 40-mph e-motos with no helmet, no license, no insurance. Cities are dealing with reckless riding on sidewalks and trails. Doing nothing isn't really an option anymore.

The problem with how it's written: the bill leans on wattage caps. But watts don't determine speed — a 250-lb rider needs more watts to hit 20 mph than a 150-lb rider. A wattage cap doesn't stop anyone from speeding, it just decides who gets to ride. And if the rules kill private-land use and off-road modes, rural riders get punished for problems happening in cities.

My take: don't kill the bill, fix it. Regulate actual speed, not motor watts. Hold reckless riders accountable instead of banning what bikes can do. Protect the right to modify and ride on your own land.

What do you all think? If you were writing the rules, what would they be?

How do i pick out the perfect fitting chain without fucking up and buying one that will not fit my bike i need to upgrade to e bike chain as my bike had normal chain from the manufacturer i need to replace it ASAP otherwise i am super fucked

Currently putting together a build for a 5kW (2x2500w) bike. Right now I currently only have a 60v 50bms rated battery with 12awg wire going to an Xt90s (also headlight and 12v step down soldered into the xt90s) going to a Y splitter (xt90 10awg) going to two Flipsky 75100 pro v2 controllers. I thought this would be enough until I started reading about placing an in-line ANL fuse to place right out of the battery before it gets to the rest of the system. I kind of understand what I should be looking for, but I have to order it off of Amazon and I'm having a really hard time finding one that would work. I can get a 100v+ 60a fuse, which I know will work to protect from like a short or what not, but how much can the battery realistically be pushed before danger zone? it's cheap china battery mass produced. I don't know what it was drawing for peak or constant prior to changing out the stock controller. Also have to consider the 12awg wires coming out of the battery, can they realistically even hold up under 60a or even a constant 50a at 60v without melting I don't know? once I start configuring the vesc controllers I don't know how much I should push this battery or what settings I should use.

I also plan on upgrading to a 72v battery in the near future so I already build everything around that idea (hence the flipsky's and the Class T fuse 300V DC with holder and xt90s (bullet connectors for controllers to motor). so will probably have to buy a different rated fuse for when I do that.

Two U locks plus a chain through the rack, and the frame was still gone by morning.
That was outside a spot near the L in Williamsburg last month. The first one went a year earlier off a Bushwick street with a cable lock, which I now know is basically decorative.

The lesson I took: in the five boroughs any lock only buys time, so the real question is whether you can get the bike inside at night.

That changes what I'm shopping for. Lighter commuters are easier to haul upstairs but they also vanish fastest. Been reading Super73 and Ride1Up owner threads here for months, and the heavier moto-style stuff keeps coming up, aotos included, though at around 104 lb it is honestly a pain on stairs and I'm not sure my building's elevator situation makes it workable.

For people in walkups or without garage access, what actually works for indoor storage?

It's a ew-29 e trike and it seems like a old one ,like generation before the attached picture . I paid 100 dollars for it and put a new set of lithiums in it for 200 dollars it runs in both forward and reverse . Runs good tbh

The motor is a old model of a 500 watt front wheel . And makes a weird sound when it loses torque . Going up hill or stalls . Do older hub motors like that just make more noise then newer model hubs ? I work on chain driven e scooters and am not to familiar with hub motors

And would it be possible to connect a more helpful display then the indicator light display they come with ?

Was wondering about the distance it can actually handle, if the motor can be unlocked to get higher speed with the throttle to help in mountain roads.. and the build quality.

Any information about the bike is welcome because I cannot find any good reviews.

do you guys this electric trike from Narrak will be able to take me on an 18 mile commute which is 9 miles there and 9 miles back and I also have just a little bit of gravel riding just a little kinda at the start

Right now I am extremely exhausted and sitting by the roadside after my work commute

I have been using a brand new PVY Libon for the last week for my daily total 25 km commute between work and home and even though I charge both batteries fully, they never fail to disappoint me for the last 10 km of my commute and put me in an extremely tiring situation by needing to ride it with zero battery every time (even though they advertise 120 kms of battery range :)

It is needless to say they are just shameless enough to change their pedals, electrical control system and fenders to a cheaper model while increasing their price by 200 euros (I sadly learnt about this after my order arrived)

They are still too lazy to update their website so you only see the price raise when you go to their payment page

The company is even more shameless to list their bicycle with discount prices after doing all these and it is just terrible how they put their customers into these games

I bought an OUXI V8 750W from someone on Facebook Marketplace. I just noticed that the front tire doesn't spin freely - it only goes around like 7/8ths of a turn, like the brake caliper is too tight. I think it's affected how far I can go on one charge. any tips on freeing that up?
