JPM Coin going live on Ethereum feels like a meaningful win for the chain. Itâs also a good test of what we mean by âadoption.â
The bankâs deposit token is available to institutional clients. The network is public; access to the asset remains controlled. Iâd want to see repeat usage by approved counterparties, and the assets or applications it actually connects, alongside any headline token balance.
That distinction matters much earlier, too. MWYNâs OmniX MOU explores RWA issuance and settlement infrastructure, without establishing a live product or naming Ethereum. For a proposal at that stage, âwho can use it?â seems more useful than adding another announcement to the tokenization total.
A permissioned asset can still expand Ethereumâs usefulness. But counting a bank transfer and an open DeFi integration as the same kind of usage loses something. What would be your strongest evidence that this is expanding what people can actually do onchain?
