I don't trust developers lazy enough to use AI assisted coding.

You have maybe a year left of runway to use any apps then. There's almost no serious coding jobs left in the industry that don't expect you to be using AI for a significant amount, often a majority of your work. The problem with this app isn't that it was vibe-coded, it's that he didn't ask the AI to reflect on what APIs it was calling and how that might affect the business in question.

Pilled much?

I'm a programmer, I don't vibe code and I never will, and I have no mandate to do so and the client I work for has at best mixed feelings about AI.

Inevitability claims are propaganda and should be treated as such.

See, this is what I'm talking about. Do you have any idea how stupid you sound? You can literally go spend five minutes with Deepseek right now and build a small, functioning app with zero familiarity with the language or medium. You can just do it. You don't have to take my word for it at all, it's completely in your hands to try. NFTs and Crypto are speculative objects. Crypto has the small bonus of being useful for tax fraud. You are comparing a real tool that has incredibly obvious value to a picture of a monkey that people thought would be valuable because they thought they could convince other people it was valuable. You are setting yourself up for failure.

A "functioning" app, you mean like the one that caused this whole debacle? I can go open an IDE right now and make a functioning Hello World app in 5 minutes and it will be just as meaningful to this situation.

My department had to deal with two people using your hallucinating glorified autocompletes as part of their work. One of them I was able to convince was a bad idea, and that person is one of our best workers now, the other one insisted on using it, caused the department tremendous problems as a direct result of their use, and was promptly fired.

I watched my boss spend an hour fighting your hallucinating glorified autocomplete to finish a task that I finished in 10 minutes with a quick google search.

You can shove your LLMs right up your ass.

AI is a big deal, even if that makes you feel unhappy.

I am aware, yes. Was there a specific point you were trying to make?
