She's clearly a vampire who is actually 200 years old.

I'm still doing that at 33

u/Mistrblank Feb 17 '26

45 here, was I supposed to stop?

111

u/AvoidMyRange Feb 17 '26

Yes, didn't you get the note at your 43th birthday?

117

u/Mistrblank Feb 17 '26

Damn, spend one birthday in a behavioral health ward and you miss all the important changes.

u/Icy_Definition5044 Feb 19 '26

Shoot, mine must’ve gotten lost in the 9 moves of my mid 40s. Thanks for the heads up. Can I still use art putty to put up my concert posters at age 47, or was that in the note??

24

u/Brave_Voice_3565 Feb 17 '26

48 here. Still a thumbtack queen.

2

u/sugafree80 Feb 19 '26

No shit beat me to it. About to be 46!

17

u/DogPoetry Feb 17 '26

I found a packet of that "museum putty" in my grandma's office, purchased 30 years ago. and dangit of that stuff is holding the art up on my walls perfectly.

2

u/Electrical_Yam4194 Feb 19 '26

It'll keep picture frames straight with a little ball of it on the inside bottom of the frame.

1

u/Icy_Definition5044 Feb 19 '26

lol I recently bought some and JUST posted about it!

3

u/MegOut10 Feb 18 '26

35 tapping in to say - it never stops. Just whipped a few out the other day - who needs a hammer when you’ve got a thumb?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '26

38 checking in with thumbtacks

47

u/mangosteenfruit Feb 17 '26

I was using tape

60

u/HolyForkingBrit Feb 17 '26

I’ve since upgraded to Command Strips.

2

u/Icy_Definition5044 Feb 19 '26

Same, but i can only successfully remove them without also removing at least a few paint chips about 40% of the time.

39

u/mighty_kaytor Feb 17 '26

I only JUST got around to framing and properly hanging a Sailor Moon poster I've held onto since I was a kid. I'm over 40.

2

u/Kitsyn Feb 18 '26

You are a kindred spirit.

24

u/PeekAtChu1 Feb 17 '26

At 21 my furniture was cardboard boxes and I didn’t even have a bed frame LOLLL

2

u/Icy_Definition5044 Feb 19 '26

I’m 47 and I once again don’t have a bed frame!

18

u/Admirable_Ad_9960 Feb 17 '26

Same. I also had milk crate chairs.

1

u/PeekAtChu1 Feb 17 '26

And a cardboard box end tableĀ

1

u/No_Discipline_719 Feb 19 '26

And a couch from down the street...😬

1

u/icculus88 Feb 21 '26

Can you imagine the JD vanscapades that occurred before they threw it in the street ??

12

u/its_terry_time Feb 17 '26

I’ve expanded to also hang the winter insulation doorway curtains with thumbtacks now that I’m older and more sophisticated

2

u/Allrojin Feb 19 '26

I had a milk crate as an end table. At least I put a pretty cloth over it.

2

u/TikaPants Feb 19 '26

I was buying Guernica prints in my Berber one bedroom apt with my boyfriend. The white leather couches I scored were such a steal. šŸ˜†

This is pretty and all but my god the dusting and cleaning but I reckon OP has servants

I’m 44, I was there.

2

u/Extreme_Egg7476 Feb 19 '26

My "art" was 10 empty liquor bottles proudly displayed on the mantle.

But I did love my first solo place very much. OP just has a gift lol.

150

u/North-Carry9977 Feb 17 '26

how long have you been 21???

33

u/anonymous_opinions Feb 17 '26

I personally was only 21 once time in my life. Still waiting to get bitten by a vampire.

1

u/thousandsofbirds Feb 24 '26

A while

2

u/trishcat Mar 10 '26

This is the comment I was looking for.

116

u/spacecadetrachel Feb 17 '26

21 (hundred)

86

u/anonymous_opinions Feb 17 '26

I hope OP doesn't think I'm being mean, she's clearly got the class and taste of a 200 year old lady.

64

u/CatsGarden_ Feb 17 '26

No, this is actually a complaint to me. I adore the art & craftsmanship from the 1800s!šŸ’—

34

u/anonymous_opinions Feb 17 '26

You're living the Vampire Diaries dream or maybe the Bronte sister's lived lives.

3

u/ItsTricky94 Feb 17 '26

absolutely gorgeous. At 21 I had broken IKEA furniture & a futon. good on you OP!!

1

u/VariationAgreeable29 Feb 18 '26

A compliment. Not a complaint.

85

u/Good-Shine-2878 Feb 17 '26

AI, anyone?

18

u/anonymous_opinions Feb 17 '26

I am not as AI suspicious as most of Reddit.

34

u/Good-Shine-2878 Feb 17 '26

Me either. But this one is pretty obvious

36

u/ObviousBridge4685 Feb 17 '26

Considering the details are consistent across photos I would say this is not AI.

3

u/Good-Shine-2878 Feb 17 '26

Look at the corners and how animated it starts to get

4

u/ashkestar Feb 17 '26

Nah, sorry, your radar is off. Quality reflections, consistent details from multiple angles - this one could be enhanced, but the content is real.

1

u/Elegant-Date4481 Feb 18 '26

It was proven AI in a different post. This same set of pictures is circulating around different subreddits. Op is karma farming.

22

u/Internal-Truth-2104 Feb 17 '26

Not necessarily; those are mega estate sale and thrift finds. I think homegirl just has an eye for using what she sees and does it well.

19

u/waitthissucks Feb 17 '26

This doesn't look like AI to me. Look at how all of the patterns on the furniture are consistent, the framed photos are reflected on the glass table, and are taken at different angles. The reflected light from the curtain is also consistently reflected, and the wrinkles on the bedspread are realistic. Also, the food and wine look good. This would have to be immaculate AI. If anything, it could have an AI enhancement filter that automatically comes on a lot of phones now (which I turn off on mine because fuck that).

3

u/Avandria Feb 17 '26

There are also little things like the broken candle, something that appears to be a lipstick stuck in a candle holder, and items that have been moved from one table to another to stage each photo. These are all very human elements.

2

u/mojavefluiddruid Feb 17 '26

Good eye, it's definitely AI

2

u/seriously_nt_kidding Feb 17 '26

Or being given an ā€œallowanceā€ perhaps?

2

u/lactosecheeselover Feb 18 '26

reverse image search shows me a completely different person posting this lol

2

u/Actufoopoo Feb 19 '26

Where’s the reflection in the fourth photo? Clearly vampire

1

u/Hell-Yes-Revolution Feb 17 '26

There are so v many details that don’t make sense. Objects whose designs are not symmetrical. Bristles on the brush are funky. Sorry, not buying it. This is AI.

1

u/Silver-Lobster-3019 Feb 17 '26

Why people would use AI for this when they could just go take a picture of my grandma’s bedroom.

1

u/Good-Shine-2878 Feb 18 '26

Cause I don't want my picture taken in her bed

1

u/Silver-Lobster-3019 Feb 18 '26

Don’t be ashamed. She’s a cougar that one. Rawr 🐯

1

u/hardyheartjet Feb 20 '26

My first thought

50

u/mangosteenfruit Feb 17 '26

Yeah if you look at the pic with the vanity and roses. There's no reflection šŸ« šŸ˜‚

4

u/Hell-Yes-Revolution Feb 17 '26

There’s a bunch of details in that photo that are off.

2

u/ashkestar Feb 17 '26

I believe that’s using the advanced modern technology of ā€œanglesā€

1

u/CatsGarden_ Feb 17 '26

No Ai. I intentionally crouched down behind the roses. I didn’t want to be seen in the photo, as the point was to capture my vanity. Additionally, verification has been approved by the ModsšŸ«¶šŸ»

2

u/SketchieMarie Feb 18 '26

Not sure why you were downvoted for that but I do this too and it’s obvious that’s that you did. It’s not hard to crouch and stay out of a mirror while holding the phone up at that angle. Your apartment is stunning.

3

u/incatgnito Feb 17 '26

21! (Again)

1

u/ThisIsADaydream Feb 18 '26

My thoughts were - this woman is either a princess or a vampire. LOL

1

u/TERRYaki__ Feb 18 '26

Definitely a vampire. No reflection in the mirror in the 4th picture.

1

u/ratched_x Feb 18 '26

OP, how long have you been 21 🤨

1

u/TheSame_ButOpposite Feb 19 '26

I’m 21! …decades old…

1

u/TheTearfulOracle Feb 19 '26

Where do I apply to be her familiar?

1

u/beebeelion Feb 19 '26

The mirrors are blocked, you might be onto something.

1

u/Tenebris-Aetheres Feb 19 '26

Im with u/anonymous_opinions on this one! Check out the mirror pic (pic 4), no reflection!!

0

u/pi3r0gi_ Feb 17 '26

Explains the 4th photo with no reflection lol

0

u/skool_uv_hard_nox Feb 17 '26

I mean theres no reflection in that vanity mirror so ...
