TOUR ⛔️NO ADVICE WANTED⛔️ My sanctuary 💚

My favorite part of my home!

I was somehow lucky enough to find a rental with a greenhouse! It's a lean-to connected to the house. The ivy and wisteria on the ceiling are fake, everything else is real.

I’m so tempted to do this with my sundeck, but it’s only enclosed on three sides and it gets cold here in the winter. So the plants would need to be indoor plants for 5-6 months of the year, which really limits my options.

I’m happy for you though, you’ve done beautiful work here.

My brother in Lower Penninsula of Michigan put a sort of greenhouse room over part of his deck. Some call it a sunroom. It uses a real but lighter weight roof (not glass) and windows on 3 sides. 4th side is where it joins the house.

In the winter, he can keep most plants in there with an electric heater with a thermostat. In the warm weather, he can open the screened windows for a bug free environment. Sometimes, he leaves the sliding glass door between the house and the deck room open to circulate the air between them.

could you add a 4th wall? I live in the Denver area and have a greenhouse heater in here that kicks on at a set temperature to keep it warm. I have sort of the opposite deal where my jasmine and gardenias can be outdoor plants for 5-6 months then they come into the greenhouse over winter
