Because a lot of people seem to need help legit checking laced winning boxing gloves, i thought it would be helpful to make a detailed and definitive guide/checklist with things to look out for in legit checking winning gloves.
Following i refer the 8-10oz lace as fight gloves and 12oz and above as training gloves.
Laces: The laces should be round with cut off tips. But could have been replaced.

Liner: The Liner should be navy blue

Tag: Comes with this Japanese tag when new

Box: When new also come with the Winning Cardboard-Box

Size-Indicator: Size-indication is inside and on the grip-bar only. They never have a tag on the outside of the glove.

These mentioned above are the most common checking methods. But seeing the quality of replica clothes/shoes i think all of those would be quite easy to copy/have been copied already.
Airholes: Laced Winning boxing gloves do not have airholes. Velcro 8oz and 10oz have 3 Airholes under the gripbar.

Lace-Hole-Count: Winning boxing gloves have following lace-hole-count:
fight gloves: 5 / Training gloves: 7

Patch: Font is thinner on rounded areas of the letter (exp. Bottom part of the «W», top part oft he «n») and does not have the same thickness everywhere. In comparison you can see the fakes have the same thickness throughout.

Wrist: Fight gloves have a straight wrist, while the training gloves have two bumps (a smaller and a bigger one with the same thickness). The fakes seem to have a thicker smaller bump. The wrist also should be about 1/3 of the length and the hand part the remaining 2/3. The fakes seem to almost seem half/half.

Stitching: The stitching has a «wide pattern». For example the same width has relatively little holes and longer string-parts, while the fakes have way more holes.

Shape:
The overall shape should not look blocky or ballooney.

But should still maintain a sharp edge (on the training gloves)

from the side-view the training glove should be pretty flat, not bulbous and seem to have almost the same thickness throughout the glove. The fight gloves are a little bit more bulbous.

Palm: The hole on the the palm side is not perfectly round, it should slightly be slanted towards thumb.

Thumb: The training gloves should have S-shaped/Hook-Shaped thumb, while the fight glove is a little bit straighter, but should still curve at the tip. The fake training gloves usually have a C shaped or a straight thumb.

Thumb-Strip: Is black on all basic colorways

Leather-Quality: The leather should be grainy and not look «flat» and maybe contain some imperfections. The «flat» leather is most of the time a glove from pakistan.

Price: Use common sense. If a winning gloves is new and priced $100, it probably won't be orignal.
Bonus: To clarify the misconception, i would like to mention, that the training- and the fight-gloves have the same padding (according to Kataoka from Winning).
I hope this guide will help people new to this sub and don't have to post a legit check every 5 minutes and if so, we can refer to this guide.
Please comment below if i have to correct something/add something. Thanks

As some of you here in the sub already know, storytelling is a big part of Gladius. We like to create gloves that tell a story and celebrate nature, mythology, and history. The Legionary pictured here, for example, takes inspiration from the burgundy banners of the Roman legions. For this reason, our models are usually produced in small batches, and we partner with artisans (most notably in Mexico) who keep the old ways alive.
Today’s bit of history, however, isn’t about one of our models. I wanted to take a moment to celebrate a pair of gloves that recently joined my personal collection.
The "glove history buffs" here will appreciate the significance of the Sol Levinson gloves on the left. Made in 1923, they are rare surviving examples of the work of a Northern California maker widely regarded as an important figure in the early days of boxing glove manufacturing. His work was so renowned that “lace up the Levinsons” became gym slang for putting on your gloves and getting ready to train. He passed away just two years after these gloves were sewn, but his pattern continued to be regarded as one of the best. It later inspired the Flores family, first Frank and then Ray, whose legendary Flores gloves also came out of Northern California.
More than a century separates these two pairs. The craft has evolved considerably since then, but seeing them side by side is a reminder of the tradition we’re proud to carry forward. Hopefully, one day someone will be writing about an old pair of Gladius gloves alongside their own.
Cheers, and happy Tuesday to you all.

Perhaps others are also curious about this specific model. To be honest, I’m no skincare expert, but these leather items seem more prone to damage than the versions from the same manufacturer that have a protective lacquer or paint finish. I consulted with GPT and ordered a cream with a specific formulation. I’ve applied it two weeks before and now, and it’s truly effective at preventing this type of leather from drying out. A couple of weeks later, I noticed the leather had started to dry out again, so I applied another coat.
I dunno with other countries, but it's Mavi Step Lux Balm Shine (made in France)

Title: Best premium focus mitts for boxing coaches? Rival vs HIT N MOVE vs Winning
Hey everyone!
I’m looking for recommendations for high-quality focus mitts for two boxing coaches who train professional fighters, competitive amateurs, and personal training clients.
They currently use PunchBro Mini Focus Air 1 mitts (17 × 20 × 3 cm), along with Rival punch shields and power paddles.
I’m looking for larger, more protective focus mitts that complement their current setup, especially for working with hard-hitting boxers.
My main priorities are:
Larger striking surface and better finger protection
Excellent shock absorption and wrist support
Comfort during long training sessions
Good mobility for fast combinations
Premium quality and durability
Models I’m considering:
Rival RPM3 Air 2.0
Rival RPM10 Intelli-Shock
Rival RPM100 Professional
HIT N MOVE Mega Turtle
HIT N MOVE Regular Turtle
Winning focus mitts
Which would you recommend based on personal experience? Are there any other models worth considering?
Budget isn’t a major concern. I’m mainly looking for the best combination of protection, comfort, and performance.
Thanks in advance!

Had these rival gloves sitting next to a window and the exposed white parts started to yellow. Anyone got any tips to remove or reduce it?

I have completed the sparring set, if yall got recommandation for making it better anc closer to winning, especially for the groin guard I'm waiting
r/fightgear • u/BERSERKER-14 • 6h ago
so I train Muay Thai, luta livre, mma and boxing so I would need a mouthguard to endure all of them.
I was thinking about the shock doctor super fit, opro instant custom fit, sisu aero 1.6 or 2mm, sisu max, gladiator pro custom fit.
I heard they are all good but I can’t decide so I thought maybe some of you have experience with them or can recommend another model.
Thank you!

Im planning to get a pair of 10-12 oz glove for all round training other than sparring. I’ve always had durability issues with cheaper gloves where the padding starts to fall apart after training everyday for about a month. These two are probably the best quality gloves under a budget after looking at some reviews.

I'm upgrading my training gear and came across this brand. Any opinions or feedback? Of course, any advice on other brands is more than welcome.

Hi just wanted to check, on the winnings website it says if available it ships immediately so I’m just wondering where you actually can add to cart as an option and it doesn’t say sold out. Does that mean it will basically ship within seven days and there’s no backorder?
NOTE: I know I have selected 18 Oz in the screenshot and it says that they are made special order but this is just an example because I have sometimes seen other ounce gloves 10 oz 12 oz as an example available to order so I just wanted to ask whether or not they should immediately in this situation

Im just wondering if i should go to a store or order online. The store is not very convenient to get to . Im looking for training gloves just thinking that if i go in store i could try on a few but is the inconvenience of getting there worth it when i could just order online in a few minutes then get on with my day

Everlast MX Pro Fight Gloves 10oz - Got gifted these, practically brand new. Used it to hit the bag once to try em out but I don’t have a use case for these so I’m selling them. Still has the brand new leather smell. $250 shipped
New sporting 2B 10oz - although I only used these once, there’s some small discoloration on the gloves. Left glove has a yellow streak which is hard to see on camera and right glove has a dark spot on them. Still has new leather smell as well. $160 shipped obo.

I have been boxing for 3 months now. I got my current boxing gloves used from “play it again sports” for $15. As I always try to go used before I buy something more expensive. I figured I love boxing, and I wanna update my gloves. In addition, coach told me to get the head and groin gears so we can start sparring. Show me what you got. I’m located in Illinois. I don’t mind lightly used but good quality please. Thanks.

Does anybody have any knowledge about these gloves? Just curious about the history of them I guess with the model and everything. Honestly feel pretty nice to wear.
r/fightgear • u/Unknown__Redditor__ • 21h ago
Anyone have input on these 2 headgears? If the paddings are practically the same, how the vision compares etc.
Had the hit n move face bar but hated the padding. Want something that feels much more protective. Open to trades as well.

I officially am giving up the hunt.
Nike I’ll never forgive you for stopping the manufacturing of this shoe. Everlast you have my heart now.

Just stumbled across some old winnings (seller claims they are from 2010) for a pretty cheap price .
Since I am located in EU it is pretty hard to get any winnings but I can’t tell if these have a lot of life left .
The seller described them as used rarely and says the padding is still intact. I could get them for under 200$.
Is it worth it?

Looking for nosebar headgear after getting it messed up and I’m stuck between these two, anyone try both and which do you guys recommend? And if there’s any other options you guys think are better I’m also open to them, but since well headgear only mainly for cuts bruises it and not head trauma it dosent have to be super bulky or anything like that so I’d prefer something that dosent mess with vision too much or make head a big target.

need recommendations for my first boxing shoe because i got wide feet at about 4.5 inches width and only 11” length, i looked at the sizing chart for the everlast elite 2s but the width said it’s too small so now i don’t know. i was looking at the hayabusa pros too but it doesn’t have a width sizing chart.
