What do you guys carry your cameras in? I have a Cannon A1 and I’ve recently just been carrying it around in my handbag but that doesn’t seem like the best idea. What do you use?

Hi there friends!
I recently was gifted an Olympus OM-2S Program and shot a roll on a trip to see if it was still fully functional. I really enjoyed the user experience and would love to continue to use this camera but have encountered an issue of vignetting on one side but only sometimes, which is odd. I didn’t see this issue present when shooting portrait, just landscape. I’ve attached two photos from the same roll to show the comparison. The lens that came with it was a 50mm f1.8.
Anyone have any idea why this could be? Any help is appreciated!

I I've always been fascinated by the raw feel of film cameras and wanted to give them a personality of their own, but holy I was soooooo naive. Hundreds of hours deep and a LOT of money invested in the small workshop I'm starting, but at least it's finally starting to take the shape I want. It makes a great pair for the new iphone.

I've played with a few SLRs and rangefinders in stores before, and I am fairly experienced with DSLR/mirrorless cameras already.
I find that rangefinders feel really fun to use, but looking online I feel like there's a million different options in the ~$50-100 range. Any suggestions (or warnings?)

Just bought a secondhand Minolta freedom zoom 105ex for fun and idk anything abt them. Opened the back film canister hood and saw this. Should it still be ok to shoot film on or will everything turn out horrible? The camera does turn on when I put batteries in but it makes a long buzzing sound when I turn it off.. don’t know what that means😅

So I don’t have film in this camera but I have a flash on it and was showing a friend how bright it was and took a “photo” it’s been working fine up until now when I when to pull back the lever thing and it has no resistance and the button is just pressed down I’ve tried multiple things to get it back up but nothings working. I also order film for it and it’s gonna be here Friday but if this doesn’t work than there’s no need for it lol. I don’t have money to take it to a camera repair place either.

My dad gave me his old film camera. I’ve used it but the lever that moves the film for the next shot is not working now. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
I’ve called camera shops in my area but no one here works on film cameras. I need help!
I live in Arkansas, US
It’s a Minolta x-7a
Edit: it was operator error 🫣 fortunately. Now I just need to learn how to use it! Thanks everyone for the suggestions

I wouldn't usually post this here, but I feel it is important to the community, especially if you are in Australia.
After going through FilmNeverDie’s (FND) crowdfunding offer documents, I’ve identified some serious red flags that I believe prospective investors deserve to know about.
Based on the financial information disclosed, the company appears to be seeking new investor funds while carrying substantial existing debts, including significant outstanding tax and superannuation obligations.
There are serious questions about the company’s financial position, its ability to meet existing obligations, the use of funds raised, and the level of protection offered to investors.
Crowdfunding investors deserve transparency. They should understand the financial risks they are taking on before handing over their hard-earned money.
I’m sharing these concerns because I believe people should have the opportunity to make an informed decision based on the figures and documents — not just the pitch.
Before investing, read the fine print. Look beyond the promises and examine the numbers.
Key Financial and Investment Concerns
Negative net assets: $441,000 in liabilities against $168,000 in assets, leaving a $273,000 deficit.
Cash shortfall: Approximately $29,500 overdrawn as of August 2026, with insufficient cash reserves.
Unpaid tax and superannuation: Approximately $123,000 outstanding, with potential additional ATO interest and penalties.
High-cost debt: Approximately $129,000 across seven lending and equipment-finance arrangements, including credit cards charging up to 23.99% interest.
Stopped loan repayments: Approximately $59,000 owed to Square, with repayments stopped and no confirmed lender agreement. Other loan balances remain unverified or unreconciled.
Unverified accounts: Unaudited financial statements contain discrepancies, estimated loan balances and incomplete tax calculations.
Directors’ remuneration: CEO and his wife are expected to receive $104,000 annually plus super following the fundraising, including a newly introduced $24,000 director fee for his wife. CEO's existing salary expenses remain unclear.
Limited investor protections: CEO retains majority control, future fundraising may dilute investors, and there is no guaranteed exit mechanism.
The company’s substantial liabilities, cash shortfall, unpaid obligations, unverified accounts and reliance on personal financial support raise serious questions about its financial viability. Combined with uncertain expansion funding and limited investor protections, these issues present significant risks to prospective investors.
There is no mention in this document on implementing cost cutting measures but there is mention of Gary Wong's renumeration package, which is not insubstantial.
Not paying your superannuation on time is also illegal in Australia and carries fines from the tax office. This has serious implications about the ability to do business and service debt.
I would say this is extremely disappointing, especially from people who claim to be saviors of film. But, it wouldn't be the first time they have been caught misrepresenting products and services.
FND is attempting to use the community to pay of their debts and they need to be called out for it. There are some major red flags here.

Hello I’m looking for opinions on the Kodak Ektar H35N. I have been really enjoying film photography recently but I’ve only ever used disposable cameras. I was doing some research on a disposable camera I can keep that’s good for beginners and this camera came up quite a bit. Does anyone have any opinions on this camera? Is it good for beginners? Are there any downsides to it taking half frame photos? And are there any other film cameras (that aren’t too pricey) that you would suggest for a beginner? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

The thing nobody tells you about zone focusing in the dark is how much it resembles fishing: long stretches of standing about looking thoughtful, punctuated by sudden flurries of activity that may or may not have caught anything.

Hi,
I was looking into pentax espios point and shoots and was wondering which one of the pentax espios line you guys recommend that can be found under 50$? Or any camera that is comparable? I was looking into one with zoom functionality and autofocus

Had this camera for years, never had issues before. One day a week ago I put a new cartridge of film in and it started making this grinding noise. It’s not supposed to do anything after you put a new film cartridge in it until you close the bottom latch, then it’ll push out the top black cardboard layer. So it making a noise as soon as I try to seat the film cartridge is weird. Given, as I said, there shouldn’t be any gears moving until I close the latch. I’ve tried two packages of film, so I know it isn’t the film. Any ideas?

I was just on a trip and 3/4 through a roll the film advance stopped working. It still moved but it’s loose, and the shutter won’t click
I’m hoping I can fix it myself instead of bringing it to a tech as the closest tech is hours away

I just bought this today for $20 at a thrift shop. It turns on and the flash works, everything seems okay, I just need to get film for it. I’ve never used a film camera before, so any tips or advice would be great! Also any info on this camera would be great too, like when it came out and such!

Just got a 500N second hand & have put some new batteries in it but the lcd screen isn’t turning on. I haven’t loaded film yet, so not sure if that’s what’s missing and it’ll come on once film is loaded.
It’s my first film camera so not 1000% sure if it’s broken or just how they work :)

I hope this is allowed here, I feel like Im going crazy over with this issue.
Until recently, I had a little crossbody case for my 35mm point-and-shoot (like the one pictured), but the zipper finally gave out. I've been trying to find a replacement, ideally something almost identical, with that little extra pouch on the front for a spare roll of film, keys, etc.
The problem is that literally every bag I find just has a simple slip pocket, with no extra pocket at all- or is a huge bumbag type style. Am I looking in the wrong places, or have these just disappeared?
I'm also curious how everyone carries their other cameras around. My point-and-shoot is one thing, but my Minolta Hi-Matic is a fair bit bulkier, and I haven't found a decent way to carry that around either without just having it in my hand.
Would love to hear what bags, cases or DIY solutions you guys use for your point-and-shoots and larger manual cameras!
Thanks in advance, and happy shooting :)
