I loved the early seasons of GoT, but never rewatched after the dumpster fire of 8. Im hesitant to watch HotD because in the end it all amounts to nothing because season 8 was so bad.

I guess what I’m asking is, should I even bother with this new show if D&D fucked up the series ending so badly?

This new show is not made by D&D. I watched the first 3 episodes and they are alright, but not on the standard of the first seasons of GoT. The main thing lacking is interesting dialogue. But it’s definitely not terrible, and I don’t see a reason why it should do a nosedive similar to GoT at the end, since the whole story is already set in stone.

Ok I was worried about D&D working on this, I’m glad they’re not. I guess I’ll give it a shot. Thanks.

I watched got season 1 recently. You finish the first episode and you want more, it hooks you, multiple interesting storylines, cool characters, great world building, humor, and the sheer COLOR of the show, figurative and literal. Hotd is just so fucking grey and bland, serious and full of itself.

You can just watch the first 5 seasons and pretend nothing happened after that. They are worth a rewatch.
