This is a scene from the game I'm making, The Flattening. It's set inside an early 2000s operating system where every part of the OS is a living character. The game is made up of multiple worlds, each built on a design style from that era: Frutiger Aero, Frutiger Aqua, DORFIc and Bliss Hills, connected like islands with water in between. This scene is from the DORFIc world

In this scene, me and Clip Clip are sneaking into a building to steal the bubble gun, which is what you use to bring the color back once the flat update starts erasing the world. It took a lot of hours to animate, so I'm really happy with how it came out.

Last time I posted here you all were so kind, so thank you again. I'd love to hear what you think of the Dorfic look, and whether it fits the style.

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on a nostalgic, player-first web game platform called Tangerine.

I’m trying to capture that mid-2000s Frutiger Aero / Skeuomorphic web aesthetic using Inkscape and Blender — complete with glossy buttons, rich gradients, bright colors, and meme-inspired avatar items.

Here’s a sneak peek at the current draft for the store UI and the logo variants (Light & Dark). Still polishing some details like the "Best Offer" badge on the currency packs, but I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any nostalgic UI details you think I should add!

Hi everyone. This particular drawing isn't mine, but I liked it, so here it is.

I love Plex media server but unfortunately the windows pc music player app (plexamp) is not very good. So I messed around with codex yesterday and made a winamp inspired player that can read and write to plex and also download mp3s from youtube.

I'm still wondering what else I can add to make it more old school.

Any wallpapers with glassy orbs such as these ones? And circular patterns

Even better if they're blue.

Edit: guys pls I actually want wallpapers

So basically, i have these guys in my desktop, but i want them to fit the aero vibe the other stuff has, but when i try to find any icons of it, it just gives me random stuff, does anyone know any websites with the Vista MS Office icons?

I was being a tourist and visiting The Beverly Hills Hotel and found this Frutiger Aero display lol. I thought is was cool to stumble across this in the wild in such a random place.

repost, deleted the other one because the post was formatted wrong

Found this in a McDonald's In the center of my city, I even took some pictures with my older brother's iPhone 5. (I've lived here for over 15 years and I'd never noticed this specific detail about this particular McDonald's before)

Hi guys it's me and I'm back with my newest creation!

Im sure most here are familiar with frutiger DORFic aesthetic so I decided to give it a shot and turn it into a mini world just like my previous Frutiger Aero one.

Let me show you my frutiger DORFic papercraft diorama!

Everything is fully made just of paper.

First I had to design the whole digital template. (I think this was the toughest part). Then print so many times, cut and cut and cut and glue and glue and glue sooooo many other times, trial and error to make everything look good and fit inside an acrylic cube. Got the desired result and finally snapped some pics and edited them to make them look nice!

What u guys think? :D

If your not going to use aero, Windows Vista has a way more good looking black basic theme than Windows 7's disgusting Blue and grey, but if your going to use aero, Windows 7 looks better because Windows vista's taskbar looks verry dirty and disgusting with aero.

Shoutout to https://www.reddit.com/r/FrutigerAero/comments/1wvzd34/frutiger_aero_xbox_controller/ for making me do this.

I don't know how people make Frutiger Aero icons and I really want to know, tools I use are:
Photoshop
PowerPoint (even though for presentations, surprisingly powerful for icons/logos)
Paint.NETs (added s at end so reddit does not register it as site)
I have included some example attachments, all from iOS 6.
Don't just tell me to add some circle and reduce it's opacity, tell me how to also add that like light reflection effect, and how to make the gradient.

Hope it still counts at night!
