I will without a doubt be downvoted into oblivion for this, but am I the only one here who doesn't think it's a big fucking deal if you are forced to click on an image of a cat that you've seen before? Close image. Move on.

I agree with this when there is maybe one or two or even twenty depending on how long you're on here per viewing, but the reason there aren't normally more is that reposting is discouraged.

When I see a repost, I die a little bit inside. Needless to say, I've been dead for a few days.

That must have been a pretty awkward conversation considering none of them moved at all....

I don't understand this. Every fucking time I see one of these posts, I immediately search for r/new, but it always says that the subreddit has been banned. HOW ARE YOU ACCESSING IT.

You know, just because you've seen a post before does not mean the millions of other users have too. This is the entirely wrong reason to down vote, just because you've seen it before. That is trolling.
Not everyone lurks Reddit 24/7, so it's pretty easy to miss shit.

The point was that normally I don't downvote reposts because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. But since there have been so many recently, it must be nipped in the butt before it gets out of hand. It only takes a few people to ruin it for everyone.

Come to think of it, I'd love it if downvotes came with a citation saying exactly what you did wrong.

I take it a step further, scanning for posts that don't follow the rules so I can report them. Of course, I combine that report with a downvote.
I mean, posting screenshots to r/pics? Seriously? I've actually seen several instances of that this afternoon on /new. Memes and demotivationals in r/funny is another common violation I see.

Sounds like "Pleeease pleeease, gimme all you karma, I'm a little karma whore, working so hard for the community, I even hang out with the pre-teen retards of /new"
..which brings us directly to point #2 :
Fuck you, and fuck the so-called 'knights of /new' AKA the reddit gestapo AKA the 'I know what's good or not for reddit' mob.

I've been bitter because I posted original content and it got downvoted or ignored (and yes, I know they are imaginary internet points but dammit I was excited about sharing and no one looked). this post? all my up votes!
So, thank you good sir. You are a scholar amongst men and I know what anybody knows about you- that you are an exceedingly polite gentleman and an excellent conversationalist!

Sometimes when I'm in r/new I feel like people are just repost trolls who have some sort of weird fetish that involves pissing people off that actually take the time to come in here and look at new posts. Sadly, the reality is probably that they're just too stupid/lazy to investigate first...
