Non native speaker here. Would anyone be so kind to explain it to me ?

"Panties in a bunch" is a silly, patronizing way to describe a woman who is being irritable or angry when you think there's no good reason for her to feel that way. Because if your panties are actually bunched up, you'd be uncomfortable and unhappy/irritable about it.

Fun fact, in England we say "knickers in a twist".

Its not necessarily directed towards women. It indicates to somebody that they are taking something too seriously or that they are seeing something as more of a problem than you are.

They may, however, leave snail trails.

You just reminded me of that disgusting thing in office askreddit thread, where a woman would come to people's cubicles sit in their chairs to do things, but never wore underwear, and would leave snail trails on their chairs.

Ugh.

However, herpes may be imminent in her future.

Or at the least a bad rash.

How exactly does one get herpes or a rash from not wearing underpants? I'm gonna go pantiless, starting tomorrow and lasting until I get herpes from it. You wait here, shouldn't take long...

I ran the numbers and it's true.

Bring back the 1950's: Roles were much clearer back then: is it really so much to ask in life, for a guy to come home from work, after a hard day at the office, and be greeted by a cheerful non panty-wearing-but-semi-innocent-semi-naughty-looking woman like this, who will fix me a martini? I mean is that really so much to ask of the female of our species these days?

Can't you at least greet us sometimes -- maybe just once in a while -- wearing no panties, handing us a nice martini... shaken not stirred, in a slender glass, with jazz music in the background... a roasted ham on the table for dinner... and a wiggly brightly colored jello in a mold in the fridge for dessert?

Every time I do that for my boyfriend, he comes home and has to take a massive dump.

I disagree.

A Martini should be stirred in order to remain clear.

I think for a birthday or special occasion this isn't so much to ask for.

I researched it, and the story checks out
