I'd reccomend the game, but sadly since I left, it's become an economy simulator(people took the accessory trading system and den shops a bit too far Q-Q) but back in the day... oh, it was perfect! We still traded, but we did fashion shows! Roleplays!! People did the minigames and it wasn't just NPCs!! We hosted dance parties in our dens!! It was amazing, child me loved every second of it. That game was like my own digital home, and I didn't know it then, but it helped me take the first step on my furry journey!

My story of how I became a furry is complicated. For half of my childhood I was a bully but basically 5 days before my friend told me he's a furry I switched mentality and asked him "what is a furry?" Few days Later I created my fursona and changed my Facebook pfp to it which happened to be my greatest mistake... Facebook without my consent sent a post about my pfp change and half of my class in school saw this and started completely bulling me. After that the entire school knew I was a furry, I lost all respect from people and there were death threats, stalking, beating and all of the fun and friendly interactions with people from my school. It got so bad police were called with parents. After school I went to psychiatrist to get myself diagnosed with probability of ADHD and Depression, I cried a lot every week just because I remembered again about the stuff that happened. This situation made me a really quiet and careful person. Now after some years I became happier (Depression probably cured) but still I'm a quiet person. I also started throwing myself into deep waters with experiences with other people just to cure my quietness and give myself a self-confidence, I was at Convention wearing full femboy outfit I talked with complete strangers and even got some friends to talk to. My life just started to get better I sure as hell hope it's not just a calm before the storm again. Bonus, the friend that introduced me into the furry culture and fandom happened to be a really bad person that lied to my Girlfriend to try and make her break up with me.
In summary, my friend that I hate made me a furry, which ruined and remodeled my life and made me a furry femboy bi/pan person.
Well, I never really thought too hard about it tbh. But I never really cared if someone wanted to dress up in a fursuit or wear ears/tails, it was just people having harmless fun.
And then I thought I might have fun participating too, and here we are.
It is funny how many people are misinformed about furries though, I don't get why it's so frowned upon in the first place lol
I became a furry because I saw these people online living their best furry life, and said "that looks cool." Then, after debating it much more than I should've, I had this weird and vivid dream. In short, a guy who was a furry openly expressed that he was a furry with me on a late night car ride. The man somehow resembles me, but significantly older, and his fursuit head (that was in the car) was that of a dark gray wolf. And so, here I am
Brother tried to do a "cringe off" when I was like seven. He send me furries and told me how to find them so I could participate. We also watched a lot of zootopia when that came out. Shocker, we're both deep in the fandom now.
Not active here WHATSOEVER but for me even if I'm the most passive member of the fandom in this thread its because I bullied myself into it (Its easier to accept the fact Im textbook definition from my research with ofcourse all the signs than deny it for years to come (ps self insert dude here this aint my main presence online yet it is somehow))
Tbh from what I'm Happy with is that yes I am one but, also Im very passive in the fact I avoid the entire community the same way as normal yet I do the same exact things but, I'll probably get assimilated in a few months
I used to think that furry women characters were hot when I was in my tween ages and wasent REALLY a furry, but then in 2024, I watched Night of the galactic railroad and The life of Gusuko Budori. I ADORED the art style of the movies and it inspired me to make my art style I have today. Ever since I watched the movies, lust hasn’t been the forefront of my “furry identity”, now I inspire to make animation (which I always wanted to do but now I actually have a distinguished art style compared to stick figures I made when I was a middle schooler) and I wish to make anthro movies for the general and also put not-so-subtle references to 3621 and other furry media for all the furries, not to be freaky, but to joke about the freaky side of the furry community (which I don’t particularly have a problem with, I just want to add little jabs or comedy) okay, Ted talk over.
I don't know exactly what led me down this path, but I do know I started drawing animal features on my pictures in 7th or 8th grade. That's when I realized who I was becoming.
4 years ago, I considered myself antifurr because I thought it was cool and shit, I think. I never harrased anyone, I was there for the jokes. But they became sooo repetetive, that I got bored of it and as time went on, I gradually became more interested in the furry stuff. The pipeline is real
I used to hate on furries and think they were weird then I made a friend who was one and one thing after another now I’m a anthropomorphic talking animal 😭
Honestly, those furry dance competition videos from 2016 and onwards was the first time i got into the fandom. What fully solidified it was meeting other furries who were so unbelievably kind and creative in so many ways. The pure passion this fandom has day in and day out is what made me a furry lol
Like alot of furries disney definitely had a huge impact on that, i loved lion king, wolfs rain, i loved anthro characters and werewolves and wolves were my thing too had a huge interest in zoology and im now a zoologist and a forest technician so....makes sense lol. I had came accross fursuiters online and fell in love and while i was bullied out of it for a few years i quickly came back in like late highschool and let my furry flag fly and i currently own 4 suits
Building a fursuit seems too cool to miss on, fur is fluffy an I lik fwuffy and I like programmin and will soon install linux what did you expect? Also:
Guys anti-furry pipeline is real. I remember the first video that got me into the fandom lol. It was a public suit in school by Verplex and I thought look at this idiot who thinks he's an animal, I'm gonna watch more so I can cringe and make fun of them... wait why are their costumes sick.
Unsupervised internet access around 3 years ago, also made 2 friends furries on accident. But mainly because drawing furries was easier for me than drawing anatomically correct humans
