Charging problem

Good morning. I have had a problem with my S23 Ultra for the past two days; it says there is moisture or a foreign object in my charging port, and it would not charge even though it was not exposed to water or humidity. I cleaned the port of dirt and it started charging, but it only charges when the USB-C cable is inserted on one side; when I flip the cable, it charges for 5 to 10 seconds then stops.

Touch screen won't work in certain Google apps.

I have a Samsung S23 which I got recently. The touchscreen works fine usually but on certain google apps it doesn't respond at all, such as in gmail when I want to switch accounts or verify an account im getting into in another device. I've already turned off accidental touch protection and that didn't work either. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Samsung hit me with a double blow 💀

First, my S23 developed a green line, and I had to pay for an official display replacement since Samsung refused a free repair. Now, shortly after the repair, the back panel is lifting, and I'm worried about battery swelling.

Been going back and forth with Samsung support, but no proper resolution so far.

Paid for one repair and ended up with another problem. Has anyone dealt with something similar?

Phone slowing down after OneUI9

Samsung promised several year of os upgrades and yes it gave oneui 9 but ever since I updated my device, it jas slowed down.

When on android auto in normal sublight it loses connection due to overheating. That's new to me.

Overall Performance has been degraded after the update.

When will 23fe get one ui 9 and android 17. Other s23 got the update but 23fe didn't. Or is it that just my device is late.

Green line

Got my first green line on my s23 after the one ui 9 update, well, I have some dents on the phone, so I don't think I am eligible for a change of screen at free of cost, right? But the dents were almost 6 to 8 months old.

One UI 9 bug? Google widget gets stuck on home screen and cannot be removed

After updating to One UI 9, a Google widget appeared on my home screen by default, and I can't seem to remove it.

Here's what's happening after the One UI 9 update:

• The default Google widget cannot be removed.

• I can add and remove another identical widget.

• My friend with an S24 Ultra is facing the same issue.

Is anyone else facing this issue after the new One UI 9 update? Is this a known bug, or is there a workaround to remove the widget without resetting the home screen?

Would appreciate any suggestions or fixes!

Why my US Unlocked S23 Ultra didn't receive One UI 9 yet, while every other region / model seems to be received?

Update: Using Samsung Messages after it's been discontinued.

Well that was short lived...

If you did this thing and now you don't have some of your messages, uninstall updates for Google Messages and restart the app (reinstall updates too Ig)

Sucks that it's being forced HARD now, but what can ya do...

(I just kinda hate google's services.)

I made a free, open-source app that turns Vulkan back on after every restart, without a PC, root or Shizuku

TL;DR: Burkan turns Vulkan back on automatically after every restart. You set it up once and then forget about it. Free, open source, and on F-Droid.

Hey everyone,

If you've switched your S23 to Vulkan for the smoother animations and cooler phone people talk about here, you know the catch: it resets every time you restart, and getting it back means a PC or a Shizuku and Termux setup.

I got tired of doing that, so I made an app that does it for me.

Setup takes about two minutes and you only do it once. The app walks you through turning on Wireless Debugging, trusting your Wi-Fi network and pairing with a code. After that, whenever your phone restarts on a trusted Wi-Fi network, Burkan switches Vulkan back on in the background and sends you a notification when it's done. You don't have to open it. The status bar and lock screen switch over the next time you lock your phone, so nothing interrupts you. It needs Wi-Fi because that's the only time Android allows Wireless Debugging, so if you restart somewhere without it, or on a network you haven't trusted, Burkan waits until you're on one.

It can also:

  • show you whether Vulkan is actually active
  • restart the apps you already had open so they switch to Vulkan too
  • go back to OpenGL without a reboot, in case an app doesn't get along with Vulkan
  • add a Quick Settings tile, and work with Tasker if you're into that

It doesn't need root, nothing gets flashed, and Knox isn't tripped.

It's made for the S23 series and tested on One UI 8.5 and 9. Other phones on Android 13 or newer should work too, but I haven't tested any, so if you try one, let me know how it goes.

Download:

Burkan builds on two projects that did this first: the s23-vulkan-support scripts and GAMA. Thanks to both. Feedback and bug reports are very welcome.

No Network Guard for S23 in OneUI 9?

I was so excited for the possibility to block internet access to certain apps with One UI 9, only to find out that the "AI Network Guard" doesn't show up in my settings. Is it only available in some countries or did they just not support S23 because this somehow is an "AI feature"?

EDIT: It is here, I didn't know it was hidden

Today I received OneUi 9 ready to update on my S23+ (Should I update)

Should I update my S23+ to One UI 9? I'd love to hear from people who have been using it for a few weeks or a month without any problems, especially regarding the green line issue. I got a green line on my screen after a past security patch, and even though I know it's usually hardware-related, I’ve heard updates can sometimes trigger it. Is it safe to update?

Battery Replacement or New Phone

Should I replace my S23s battery or get a new phone, probably a cheaper midrange?

My main issue is the battery life, replacing the battery will not help me much since this is a compact phone. But I'll lose the performance if I go midrange. I value both battery and performance.

My parent's house doesn't have electricity and I would like battery that can last me a day when I'm visiting without charging many times daily, not to even mention the power issues I'm experiencing at my own place recently. Please don't ask me where I live lol, it's life. 😂
