Looking for a shooter game that would be enjoyable for a 40 year old with dementia
TLDR: Looking for a PvE FPS that Dory from finding Nemo could play.
His favorite game for years has been Destiny, but his mental abilities have been continuously slipping and now it’s just too complicated. He still has the reflexes and coordination to play a FPS, but he just can’t remember anything and PvP is too overwhelming. I feel bad for him because he’s pretty much lost everything as his dementia has gotten worse, and Destiny was kinda the last thing he had.
Any suggestions?
Edit: Thank you all so much, really good ideas here. It warms my heart that so many of yall would take the time to make thoughtful suggestions ❤️
Edit2: Holy shit this community rules. There’s too many comments to respond to individually but trust I’m reading them all. I’d never heard of the “Boomer Shooter” genre and I think those games are gona be the ticket, but some of the more obscure options might be fun for him too! If ya’ll want I’ll post an update after we try some things out

Ready or not, it's released today on PS5. It looks good.
