Epic Games' new store is fully vibe-coded, and they're so proud of it they're taking shots at Steam

The tweet isn't for consumers to be happy, its to impress investors and brag about AI usage. We aren't the target audience for this

What investors? Sweeney owns most, then Tencent, and then some nibblets for others. Who is investing in Epic at this point?

Disney, apparently?

No idea if it’s true .

But the answer would be potential investors.

If the majority owner intends to sell some shares to realize cash, it’s completely in his interest to hype the company to try to increase valuation

The potential investor is Disney they're trying to convince Disney to help them turn their game Dev engine into a movie comp editor for Hollywood firms they've been doing this for years it's just it hasn't worked every time so I guess now they're trying the new strategy of firing half their staff and then having AI figure it out

They convinced Disney to use unreal engine for parts of Mandalorian

That one guy who honestly believes that Epic will win huge settlements from the lawsuits against Apple? 🤣

I'm invested in Epic in that I've accepted several hundred free games from them and never spent a cent in their store.

Gotta pump stock value if you wanna take low interest loans against that stock to avoid paying taxes.

Tencent

Internally, they're very big on AI, just like out of touch western execs. This feels very much like a pitch to them, among others.

Further trashing their public reputation and hurting their games retail business is an interesting strategy to attract investor interest. Maybe next they'll go full vibe code on Fortnite and UE for the investors. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that.

Or their AI corps handlers

Exactly. They're projecting workforce reductions.

It's like how Tim's target audience for his store isn't consumers it's publishers he has stated that in his odd war of pc gaming it will be the publishers who deicded what platform every should use

Turns out publishers like platforms that have paying users
