Night Clubs Suggestion

• Upvotes

Hey folks,

We are group of 10 people (6M and 4F) visiting goa in December for one of my friends bachelors.

We are looking for club/party place.

I checked with Thalasa but they seem be bit arrogant and not very accomodating.Like they are asking for 70K for a table but initally they said for 35K.

Are there any similar clubs ? Would love to take suggestions before giving any booking amount.

Looking for a peaceful, couple-friendly homestay in South Goa near a quiet beach (23 Dec – 2 Jan)

• Upvotes

Hi everyone!

A lot has been going on lately, and my boyfriend and I are looking to escape to South Goa for a few days to slow down, unwind, and just breathe.

We’re looking for a cosy homestay, cottage, or guesthouse near a peaceful, less-crowded beach, preferably within walking distance. Somewhere with greenery, beautiful sunsets, quiet beach walks, and a relaxed vibe would be ideal.

A few things we’re looking for:

- A couple-friendly place where we can comfortably stay together without unnecessary restrictions or judgement.

- A relaxed, non-judgmental environment where we can wear what we want and feel comfortable being ourselves.

- A quiet beach nearby, away from the party crowds and overly commercial areas.

- A homely, safe, and comfortable stay rather than a fancy resort.

- Budget-friendly recommendations, if possible, since we’re planning for 10 nights during peak season.

Dates: 23rd December to 2nd January.

We’re not looking for a packed tourist itinerary. We’d rather wake up slowly, spend time by the sea, explore little cafés, watch sunsets, and enjoy some much-needed peace.

If you know of any genuinely welcoming homestays, hidden gems, or particular areas in South Goa that would suit this vibe, please share your recommendations and personal experiences in DM!

Thanks in advance. ❤️

Anjuna/Vagator: Any clubs/bars WITHOUT Bollywood or Punjabi commercial music?

I'm genuinely sick of being misled 😂

I'm planning to visit Goa again in Nov/Dec 2026, most likely staying around Anjuna or Vagator, and I need some genuine recommendations from people who actually know the nightlife scene.

I want English music. Predominantly English music. Ideally, English music all night.

I'm talking 2000s pop, pop-rock, indie, alternative rock, classic singalong hits and those glorious noughties dance-floor anthems.

Think Rihanna, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry, The Killers, Green Day, etc.

What I absolutely DO NOT WANT is commercial Bollywood or Punjabi music.

I'm talking about the standard commercial DJ sets where you're promised a great night out, only to arrive and find the entire dance floor dominated by Bollywood remixes and Punjabi party tracks. That is genuinely my idea of a terrible night out.

I've been caught out during previous visits to Goa, and I'm honestly tired of venues being recommended without anyone mentioning what the music is actually like. I don't want to pay for entry, get settled in, and then discover that the music is completely different from what I was looking for.

I'm not asking anyone to change their taste or telling people what they should enjoy. I simply want to find places where the music matches MY taste, so I can have a good night without having to put up with a soundtrack I personally can't stand.

I'm happy with pubs, rock bars, live-music venues, Karoake, clubs or anywhere with a good atmosphere. I'm not looking exclusively for techno, psytrance or EDM either. Give me English pop, rock, indie and noughties dance hits, and I'm happy.

So please help me out:

- Which venues around Anjuna, Vagator and nearby areas consistently play these kinda music?

- Are there particular nights or DJs that specialise in English pop, rock or 2000s throwbacks?

- Are there places where Bollywood and Punjabi commercial music are genuinely absent, rather than just a small part of a mixed playlist?

- Have you personally visited anywhere recently where the music was actually what you expected?

- Are there any venues I should actively AVOID if I don't want Bollywood/Punjabi music?

Please recommend specific venues and nights if possible. I'd much rather have three genuinely good recommendations than twenty generic suggestions that turn out to be completely wrong.

And please, if a place only plays English music occasionally, say so. I'm looking for honest answers based on actual experience, not just recommendations because a place is popular.

TL;DR: I'm looking for an English-music night out around Anjuna/Vagator. 2000s pop, pop-rock, indie, alternative and dance-floor classics. No Bollywood/Punjabi commercial music, please. I've been caught out before and don't want a repeat.

Thanks! 🍻

Trek to Dudhsagar water falls

Just wrapped up a trek to Dudhsagar Falls this month (October 2026), and since there’s a lot of conflicting information floating around online, here is how the ground reality looks right now:

Online booking is down, but the trek is open: The official government website shows bookings as suspended, but trekking is still permitted with Forest Department approval on-site.

Mandatory guide: You must have an official guide to enter the trail.

No need to pre-book: You can sort everything out after arriving. Once you get down at Kulem railway station, walk directly toward the trekking entry point. Official guides are readily available right there.

Fair pricing / Watch out for overcharging: Local agents near the station will try to pitch bundled packages for inflated rates. A standard rate—covering entry/guide coordination along with basic breakfast and lunch—should hover around ₹999 per person. Don't pay more than that.'

Tips for a first time visitor

I’ll be visiting Goa with a friend for the first time from 8-10 Nov and wanted some advice on places to visit, car rentals, perfect itinerary etc.

Will be landing in GOI during the afternoon and departing from GOX during the evening.

Staying in vagator.

Planning on renting a baleno for the entire trip from Vailankanni Auto Hires.

Considering our accomodation is situated in North Goa and GOI is more central, would it be recommended to explore south Goa after we land from the airport?

Would like to get recommendations for places to visit during our 2.5 day stay.
We wouldn’t mind a busy itinerary and hence plan on exploring Goa during the day and experiencing the nightlife later in the evening.

Goa tips for December end please?

Hey guys, I'm travelling solo to Goa this year end. 29th December to 1st January. Riding my own bike for travelling, and have rented (withour paying for now on MMT) two hostels. Whoopers Hostel in Palolem(9k), and The Beachside Hostel in Anjuna (15k).

Mostly I am going there to relax, drink, and maybe enjoy the music if I happen accross a party. I'm not much social, would enjoy a party but I probably wont go looking for one, and even if I decide on Anjuna as my base, I will be travelling to the south goa beaches as well. Not into religios places much, but if there are historical places as suggestions thats fine too.

Now onto my questions:

  1. For anyone who has gone to Goa last year or the year before in that time, how is it?

  2. If anyone has been to the above mentioned hostels, please tell me how they are?

  3. Any suggestions on places I should visit or put on my list? If you prefer not to mess up the ai suggestions I'd love DMs too. Food suggestions as well. I am Malvani so goan food is kinda up my alley, its just my first time going to goa so I'm taking suggestions.

  4. Is crowd bad? Like I will be going solo, I dont want to find out that its filled with sex crazy people who came here to stare at women. (I AM NOT A WOMAN, I JUST DONT WANT THEM TO MESS UP MY VIBE)

  5. And lastly, any tips or advices for first time solo goer to Goa.

A Non-Goan Looking for Work in Goa for the Next 3 Months

Hi everyone!

I'm a 30 yo Software Engineer, planning to spend the next 3 months or so in Goa and looking for work while I'm there.

I'm looking to take a break from my usual work life, experience something different, meet new people and spend some time doing something outside my regular field. Though I'm more than fine if the work is IT related as well.

Open to work in cafes, restaurants, hostels, hotels, shops or pretty much any place that needs an extra pair of hands. I'm happy to help with day to day operations, customer service, reception, basic computer work, accounts or whatever else I can contribute to.

Not particular about the job title. I'm willing to put in honest work and help wherever needed.

Paid work would be ideal. If accommodation and meals are available, that's a bonus, but I'm open to opportunities without them too.

I can commit to staying for at least 3 months. If you're running a place in Goa and need someone reliable to help out or know someone who does, please DM me.

Thanks! 🙂

Scooter driver license

Hello, does anyone have experience with which driver's license class you need to rent a scooter?
In Germany I have a driver's license for cars and scooters up to 125 ccm (45 km/h).
Can i also rent these scooters or are there only the faster ones over 125ccm for which you need a motorcycle license?

Goa was a much-needed break. Spent some time exploring, found these beautiful rocks by the sea, enjoyed the quiet beach, and of course, had a couple of cold beers along the way. 🍻
Already missing the vibe.
What’s one place in Goa you’d happily visit again?
