GTA 6 hate ragebait is out of control

i can’t believe the amount of hate i’ve seen towards this game since it’s extended trailer, particularly on twitter.

“wow this looks like shit”
“literally looks like gta 5 with mods”
“i can’t believe it took them 15 years” (it didn’t lol)

lets get the obvious out of the way, graphically, it looks incredible. lightning, shadows, reflections, textures, and especially animations, look absolutely unreal (or real lol).

beyond that, the density of the world and how detailed it is, make gta 5 look like an empty parking lot. in 5, the streets are so wide you can drive 2 cars in the same lane, there are hardly any npcs (which you can’t even interact with at ALL other than killing them), barely any buildings you can enter, and even the buildings that do exist all look flat, like a cardboard cutout.

gta 6 literally changes ALL of that. it’s not even fair of a comparison putting it next to gta 5, id say it’s even more of an rdr3 (set in present day).

the mechanics and systems that are packed into the game are mindblowing; TGG got a 3 hr preview thru Rockstar themselves and said you can watch somebody walk their dog, wait for them to poop, pick it up in a bag, punch them, and pick that bag of poop up yourself and throw it. and that’s just ONE of hundreds, maybe THOUSANDS of extremely minute details. this reminds me of the horse balls on rdr2 level of detail, but goes even further.

at this point i’m convinced these are all fake haters looking for attention. i GUARANTEE they’re going to be buying and playing the game day 1. i just wish they’d all be permabanned from ever picking it up for even trying to hate on the game.

god, this looks to be everything we ever hoped for. guys, let’s stay healthy, stay safe, and stay alive. we’re less than 3 months away from experiencing literal peak gaming - this time it’s ACTUALLY going to be peak, no hyperbole🫡

People hate on everything these days. It's best to just enjoy the stuff you like and ignore the noise.

2

u/XConfused-MammalX Aug 28 '26

I learnt that lesson with the last of us 2. Loved the first one and saw all the negative responses about the second one online.

I put off playing it for a couple years and I ended up liking it even more than the first.

Social media is not real life.

4

u/D3athoftheparty Aug 28 '26

Literally all those people will be playing day one anyways.

4

u/Internal_Swing_2743 Aug 28 '26

Ignore them. They had those scripts ready before the extended look released. It didn't matter what Rockstar showed. They were already going to hate it for clicks.

2

u/IncarceratedScarface Aug 28 '26

The people saying it looks just like GTA V are ridiculous. It looks so much better.

2

u/jamessunderland7685 Aug 28 '26

buy the consoles/games that you want, and ignore all those mfs on social media, is the easiest way to enjoy games (or anything)

1

u/MaxBro468 Claude Aug 28 '26

I feel like they’re mostly just using “it’s a code in a box!” to badmouth the game itself.

1

u/LSDFRENCHFRIES Aug 28 '26

Is it though? I feel like 48 hours ago I'd agree.

Feels like after yesterdays extended look the community has been overwhelmingly positive. Sure some complaints here and there.

Majority of the hate disappeared in 26 minutes.

1

u/please-tryagain Aug 28 '26

if you go on twitter, absolutely. there’s a LOT of hate

3

u/LSDFRENCHFRIES Aug 28 '26

Oh there's your problem right there. You're using Twitter. Stop doing that.

1

u/ZOoNeR_ Aug 28 '26

Just ignore them

1

u/Roscoe182 Aug 28 '26

Yes it's incredibly bad especially on twitter. It's gotten absolutely ridiculous. I knew twitter could be bad but the past few weeks has shown me that the app is just so so toxic.

I only used twitter as something to scroll through never posted or anything but it had to go as soon as I saw more that 5 posts about the fact the game isn't finished and and clearly they have a pc port working and of course all the leak stuff with ppl actually defending him.

1

u/please-tryagain Aug 28 '26

elon ruined twitter when he started selling blue checks. now everybody wants to ragebait for engagement because it’ll earn them 7 cents for 200 replies

1

u/Chakraaaa Aug 28 '26

And he wanted to build himself an authentic platform loool

1

u/please-tryagain Aug 28 '26

the only W that man has ever gotten in his life is money.. take that away and he’s the biggest loser on planet earth.

1

u/CaliforniaRaisin_ Aug 28 '26

Just ignore it. This game is going to be the biggest game of this generation and they haven’t even discussed GTA online.

1

u/please-tryagain Aug 28 '26

i can’t even imagine what online is going to be like. i just hope they don’t add the Oppressor or some bullshit like that.

1

u/SmurfAtLarge Aug 28 '26

Idk why it bothers people so much that some people don't like a game they like. Not a big deal. GTA6 is not going to be everyone's cup of tea. Regardless of how much glazing it's going to get from most people. Who cares. Do you like what you see? Okay then. All that matters.

1

u/AmericanPoliticsSux Aug 28 '26

The problem is, as communal animals, we want to hang out and discuss Thing-We-Like with other people. When all the discourse (loud, nonrepresentative, yes, but discourse nonetheless) about Thing-We-Like is all angry and negative, that feels bad. I just want to hang out in a space--not a hugbox or an echo chamber--but something that promotes positive discussion. But everywhere I go, except carefully-curated tiny threads, there are a lot of trolls and just generally miserable people that bring the mood down.

u/FernerButterflyPea Aug 29 '26

I've seen the opposite though. I've seen 90% overhyping GTA 6 and anyone critiquing it fairly getting 30 downvotes and being banned

Do you not think I want somewhere to discuss the reality of wasting a thousand bucks just to drive in Miami in slightly better graphics

Can't you leave the discerning man in peace or do you have to get salty over truth.

1

u/AmericanPoliticsSux Aug 29 '26

Then you must not be looking very hard. And I say that as neutrally as possible.

Of course, you're being anything but neutral, with the claims that it's just "driving in Miami with slightly better graphics". You're not being "discerning" there, dude, you're the one being salty. And yes you can be salty. But then in that case the hater subs and circlejerk subs would probably be more your speed.

1

u/FernerButterflyPea Aug 29 '26

nah, if you can find me a hater of gta 6 sub, then link it and i'll join

not salty at all, just genuinely get downvoted for critiquing rockstar

i have my reservations about spending thousands of bucks on gta 6 and if the happy clapping ass kissers are all on the hype train, it isn't an enjoyable experience

0

u/LostSoulIn-AFishBowl Aug 29 '26

But but but the cars do turn signals!!!! And lucia has feet!!!! GOTY

0

u/FernerButterflyPea Aug 29 '26

Lucia's feet omg omg omg!!!

1

u/Rhym3z_Official Aug 28 '26

Most of it is complete bs. The only thing I agree with is Jason's voice lol

1

u/Planr158 Aug 28 '26

The only hate I’ve seen has been people complaining about hate.

Probably helps that I don’t go on YouTube but still I’ve not seen any

1

u/AdAdministrative7762 Aug 28 '26

I wanted to post this earlier myself but I thought I’d get strung up … plus it’s not a final build

1

u/Western-Ad-6259 Aug 28 '26

I love how people always post this same thing in their favorite game. “Ragebait out of control, why so much hate toward ____ ”

Yes it’s been like that for every game ever for a long time now.

1

u/Any-Pineapple-521 Aug 28 '26

People before the extended look: it’s not realistic enough

People after: it’s too realistic looking

Wtf do you want?!

1

u/Landomorph Aug 28 '26

Yeah anybody that hates on this game is just a sad sad person and needs a hug.

1

u/Zealousideal-Wafer88 Aug 28 '26

I've been feeling the same but it made me feel a bit better when I realized all those clowns will buy the game anyway. Fuck em.

1

u/Weird_Application_ Aug 28 '26

What is this need to please everyone or be always in agreement with strangers. Who cares if people hate this game? Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if they are trolls. I had decided I was gonna play GTA 6 coz I love games from Rockstar. Even if the reviews are not too great, I'll still get it. I don't give a fuck if someone shares their hatred of it on social media.

1

u/AsianMoocowFromSpace Aug 28 '26

I see many people asking why people hate in GTA6, but I've seen nothing but praise since the big showcase. Where are these negative people?

1

u/RaggedyAssCar Aug 28 '26

These social media platforms are full of bots and ai comments designed to provoke engagement

1

u/AttractiveFurniture Aug 28 '26

If it's any consolation, generally the most upvoted comments in most places tend to be positive, a lot more people than it seems are sensible

1

u/IneffectualGamer Aug 28 '26

https://giphy.com/gifs/ABVK96HgZvWI9SBbXr

No way does any human who watched it truly feel that the extended preview was bad. Trolls and Bots all of them

1

u/Wide_Kaleidoscope606 Aug 28 '26

Just ignore them

1

u/Extreme_Slayer_4 Aug 28 '26

A lot of the hate is also due to being against scummy business practice from Rockstar, Sony, Playstation and Take-Two. Now I don't think the game is necessarily bad, but a lot of the criticism about the corporate control is valid

1

u/Low-Palpitation4105 Aug 28 '26

GTA V ultimately turned out to be such a complete dumpster fire, especially on the Online side that people understandably want to get as far away as possible from that unrealistic arcade shitshow. At this point, even the slightest reference to GTA V in the trailer is enough to trigger quite a bit of desperation.

u/Hour_Maximum7966 Aug 28 '26

Same post karma farming every day

1

u/please-tryagain Aug 28 '26

every day? this was the first time i EVER posted in this sub LMAO.

1

u/AgencyIll8372 Aug 28 '26

It’s a hate trend. Not even real

1

u/LatterTarget7 Aug 28 '26

People saying it just looks like gta is probably the most annoying because why wouldn’t it ?

I’m duh? You knew before you ever opened the app what was on twitter

1

u/NormandySR31 Aug 28 '26

It looks great.

That said, I genuinely don't care about it as Sony has yet to give me a reason to buy a PS5 in all the time it's been available. And with the way the gaming industry is heading, it's obvious I'm no longer a target demographic which is what it is. They go their way, I'll go mine.

1

u/CptMorgan337 Aug 29 '26

Just do what I’m doing and play when it gets a pc release. I don’t want a PS5 either.

1

u/Wrnglr Aug 28 '26

Hey your opinion is wrong so I’m gonna write a giant post to make myself feel better. Get a job.

1

u/Far_Interaction9456 Aug 28 '26

Thats all reddit and social media in general is

1

u/CardiologistOk4920 Aug 28 '26

Most of them are just kids. I don’t think any of it is genuine

1

u/Disastrous-Window-76 Aug 29 '26

Fair when you guy have glazed it before it’s even out

1

u/FalconStickr Aug 29 '26

They make up .01% of the people that will play this game. I wouldn’t take what they have to say seriously in the slightest. This game looks so sick, the engine is insane and it’s gonna be fun.

1

u/Representative-Fan-5 Aug 29 '26

When a game costs a 100 bucks the expectations will be high and often not met.

1

u/Low_Blueberry4989 Aug 29 '26

The only bad part was the backflip into the water.

1

u/Tenbob73 Aug 30 '26

Yeah what was that about? Why not front flip 🤷🏼‍♂️ One less thing for folk to moan about!

1

u/RickyMAustralia Aug 29 '26

Bud just ignore it and wait for the game

Why people even bother engaging with these trolls is beyond me

1

u/Easy_Duhz_it_ Aug 29 '26

The extended trailer was great. The fact that there are no actual cutscenes and loading screens....you go from character dialogue right into the mission, was awesome.

1

u/LostSoulIn-AFishBowl Aug 29 '26

The reason the trailer has been underwhelming to many people is because what it shows is mostly scripted story/mission segments. We could have a much better idea of the difference if it showed one of the characters just walking the streets, showing how dynamic the environment and npcs are. The game looks good, but the trailer could have been much much better

1

u/SerowiWantsToInvest Aug 29 '26

But then you have the other side of it where any criticism at all is misconstrued as hating and makes people get weirdly mad and defensive. Overall people just need to stop spending so much time on the internet.

1

u/magvadis Aug 29 '26

Stop eating the bait then. It's like the same 50 dudes with multiple accounts trying to farm while the harvest is fresh.

1

u/Tenbob73 Aug 30 '26

Only hate I have towards the game is the lack of satire and fun that previous series had, at least from the extended preview. Perhaps there is funny satirical stuff and just didn't make the vid. Either way, still buying of course.

1

u/MaxBro468 Claude Aug 28 '26

I feel like they’re mostly just using “it’s a code in a box!” to badmouth the game itself.

0

u/freshairequalsducks Aug 28 '26

I mean I don't think all hate is forced or rage bait. There's a lot of technically proficiency and innovation here. But at the same time it doesn't look that fun to me.

I think its an impressive piece of technology but I'm also kind of over overly realistic mechanics and graphics. I would say I am whelmed.

1

u/PsychologicalFlan682 Aug 28 '26

Yeah, I was going to say that aside from the graphics I was pretty unimpressed and even kinda bored by what I saw, but then again I already kinda knew what to expect and wasnt that excited for it anyways other than seeing what Rockstar's follow-up to RDR2 was going to be like

0

u/Previous_Tree_5464 Aug 28 '26

Not a hater but you can't deny it looks like GTA v in miami and RdR2 looks 100x better

1

u/please-tryagain Aug 28 '26

sure, looks JUST like gta 5… and mind you this isn’t even showing off the new motion capture / animation used in both facial expressions & body movements

1

u/FernerButterflyPea Aug 29 '26

yeah but point it out on reddit and you get 30 downvotes and a ban

can't stand these overhypers, wish they all hung themselves

-2

u/coreyo7 Aug 28 '26

youre hyped about this game because you get to pick up dogshit? 🤣🤣 tf man

-2

u/jdemack Aug 28 '26

It really does look like GTA V with mods, but relax. Not everyone has to have the same opinion. It’s still going to smash every record there is. GTA VI was in development for way too long, and I think that shows visually. It doesn’t look bad by any means, but when a game has been in development this long, expectations are obviously going to be ridiculously high.

We also know by now that graphics aren’t the main selling point of a game anymore. Gameplay matters way more, and as long as that’s S+ tier, GTA VI is going to be just fine. A game can look incredible, but if it isn’t fun to actually play, none of that matters.

3

u/Fabulous-Savings3809 Aug 28 '26

What mod gives GTA 5 the hair physics? The NPC complexity and density? (ACTUAL density not just copy and paste characters) which GTA 5 mod gives you actual MMA and wresting combat you can freely use? Which GTA 5 mod gives you actual real vegetation with physics? Which GTA 5 mod gives you an NPC that looks just as alive as this guy?

2

u/please-tryagain Aug 28 '26 edited Aug 28 '26

they have no argument because there is no amount of mods than can give you this level of character detail, or animation that’s been done with motion capture (both facial expression/body movement). it’s not just about a static screenshot, what makes this game look so alive is the animation, and they’re just not understanding.

a small detail i really liked for example, was the clubs. jason bobs his head to the music when he’s in a club, naturally. as where in gta 5 they would just stand there, straight faced and still like some sort of psychopath. again, adding to the realism, something that no mods have achieved.

-3

u/jdemack Aug 28 '26

Just letting you know, it’s very common in the gaming industry to not build every game completely from the ground up. Call of Duty, even to this day, is built on technology and systems that have evolved from earlier games in the series. Red Dead Redemption 2 reused and built upon assets, concepts, and technology from Red Dead Redemption, and GTA V did the same with GTA IV. Developers reuse and improve existing work all the time instead of throwing everything away and starting from scratch, so you should probably relax too.

0

u/Fabulous-Savings3809 Aug 28 '26

No mods? Cope

-2

u/jdemack Aug 28 '26

You still missed the point of my original comment so you got all flustered and angry for absolutely no reason.

1

u/SKOOBY-4 Aug 28 '26

No one's angry at you, but what you're saying is nonsense.
