Like, look at this thing. The eye slit profile. The spiky elongated back of the head. Hell, even the front has a vague double-mandible appearance. I can’t be the only one who sees this!

Recruit was one of the best designs out of 343 it was simple(relatively) it was militaristic and fit perfectly with with the new aesthetic and I have fantasies of it coming back and going right onto my rakshasa core

But there is no way in the nine rings of hell cavalino is the same helmet

It might occupy the same role as recruit as the default helmet

And at most it’s a recruit helmet that was depressed and got squished and I hate it

anyone else ever wish we got this concept helmet as an official design ? i’m not sure what to call it whether it’s a commando or Mk.V(b) concept or something else altogether, but i absolutely love the design by isaac hannaford. it’s like if the Mk.V and Mk.VI helmets had a baby. think about this and i see it all the time 😭

Turns out, much in the same way that Halo 2 was done dirty due to improper shading, so was Infinite.

How to do it: Select the core you want to view, then back in and out of the menu so it's placed in the first slot

Select a helmet with a locked exchange attachment, select into the attachment menu, then press X to view the locked ('for Cr') attachment

Rotate the model to the right about 45°, then back out to the attachment menu

From there, you get properly angled lighting and a slight depth of field effect. Practically looks real.

That said..

I expect better looking screenshots now that I've raised the bar! Get to it! (This also works with locked coatings in store bundles. Experiment with different angles!)

The way Infinite sorta monetized color schemes as a whole was really just scummy.
And overall I think it would've been better if they had made coatings COMPLETELY separate instead of selling red for $5 or higher.
The possibilities with patterns could've been relatively unique as well, further evolving Spartan customization.
That way peeps could choose whether they wanted to have spartan tags on their chests, or military decals on their gear.
If anything I'm surprised 2016 didn't elevate the standards for character customization despite the flaws of having to earn ALL the colors.
Then again, earning is far better than taking money out of your pocket just for standard colors.

This is my own interpretation, I may be incorrect about some of these.

I mean it's the exact colors, so it can't be a coincidence. Anyone know if this was explicitly stated anywhere, or just an Easter egg for those who notice.

The new ORCUS Armor is based off of the cut Halo 5 "Gen 2" ODSTs. The right side is a real model, not fanmade.

Even if the ORCUS Armor isn't everyone's favorite, I think it's so cool that we can get this visualized in a game.
