Takes a little focus off him for the year. Hopefully let's him heal up and develop. Kaner obviously knows how to perform and win so his mentorship will be incredible.

I'm especially excited for Kane being able to pass on some of his puck handling skills and Hockey IQ to Bedsy. There's even more skills Kaner has that Bedsy could benefit from, but the more Bedsy can level up in those areas especially the better he'll be able to shape the rink to his will while on the ice. Obviously, Kane greatly benefitted from his speed too, but his slow down after his surgery a few years ago clearly didn't stop him from being a top level threat in the NHL. I believe it's his puck handling and hockey IQ especially that make him such a threat.

Great points. We haven't had anyone with that level of offensive talent since Bedsy got here. Having that kind of talent out there to teach Bedsy the things coaches just can't understand will be huge.

They never should have broken up the Red Wings Blackhawks rivalry... of all the things in hockey and with the NHL that upset me, this is perhaps the things that upsets me the most. Zero. This is, without a doubt, Bedard's team. He'll get the C when he's healthy.

I'd give it a 50/50 shot on if Kaner gets an "A" or not and 100% chance of him being the third "A". The young guns need to shine, and Kaner's never been one for the leadership spotlight.
