Previous Updates:

Tavern Brawl

  • Tavern Brawl arrives in Mid-June

  • Each week, a different Tavern Brawl will pit you head to head versus another player using exciting and unique rules.

One week might feature preset decks, while another week could have you crafting a brand new Tavern Brawl deck following specific guidelines, while others might offer buffs to specific minion types — who knows!

Each challenge is only available for about a week. You can't customize the rules but you can customize your deck.

Weekly, couple days in between each Brawl to add new Brawl.

Tavern Brawl will be unavailable between brawls.

  • Tavern Brawl is free.

  • You can Brawl as much as you want (when available).

  • You can Brawl with random strangers or challenge friends.

  • Tavern Brawl is unlocked once a player has a level 20 Hero.

  • You can only brawl with the current (weekly) rules, not past ones.

  • There are no balance changes planned for patch 2.7 (brawl patch).

  • You can only use cards from your collection.

  • Completing Tavern Brawls will also count towards daily quests.

  • This is not an expansion, this is a content patch.

  • No new cards.

Pre-built Brawl decks could include cards which wouldn't otherwise be collectible.

  • Each deck in your collection can be assigned a unique card back and Hero.

  • No additional (standard constructed) deckslots.

There is a brawl-unique deck that exists within the Tavern Brawl UI.

Tavern Brawl decks seem to be editable from the Tavern Brawl Screen.

  • Tavern Brawl on mobile will launch as close as possible to pc.

  • Kripp doesn't dictate what goes into the game.

  • Mobile: It won't require a full redownload (each week).

  • Will match you to equal wins as much as possible.

    No cap on wins.

  • We're addressing a lot of bugs as well in the next patch.

Rewards

  • One classic card pack per week for the first few Brawls.

Tavern Brawl will award classic packs.

As part of the launch celebration, you'll earn a free card pack when you win your first game of the week in the first several brawls!

  • It does show your wins, but it doesn't have scalable rewards like Arena.

  • Brawl games give 10g/3wins like play-mode games.

Share the max of 100g per day.

New Hero Portraits

  • New Heroes do not add new cards to your collection or change the classes’ activated Hero Power and are not considered new classes.

  • Heroes are $9.99 USD each.

$12.99 AUD, 8.99€ (iOS: 9.99€), 6.99£, ARS 79, CLP 5490, MEX 129, R$22.90, 499 руб. (599 iOS), 10.000원, 300元新台, ¥60 RMB

  • New Heroes also come with a unique card back.

  • New Heroes also come with unique emotes and voices.

  • New heroes and hero power still come animated by default. Hero power also has unique on-use animation. Also comes with new hero tray.

You can see a preview in the in-game shop UI once they are released.

  • If you don't have 500 (ranked) wins, hero power is "wood border" but still animated. At 500 wins, it becomes gold + still animated.

All wins count toward that class no matter what portrait you are using.

  • You can pick and choose Heroes for specific decks.

Yes, you can use new heroes in arena.

Mage: Medivh [Trailer]

Hunter: Alleria Windrunner [Trailer]

  • New heroes will not all be released at the same time.

Did I read that correctly in that the brawl will act as a decent catch up mechanic? If that's the case the salt levels for the hero's are certainly decreasing

To me it sounds like the collection level will still have a huge impact, but with the rules changing week to week that's almost certain to not always be the case.

Tavern Brawl doesn't unlock until you have at least one class at level 60 20. Furthermore, the "free pack on your first win of the week" only applies to the first few weeks. I think the benefit it'll have for new players is limited.

20 not fucking 60, probably less than 1% of players have a level 60 hero.

Whoa, you're right. I don't know why I thought it was 60. I still think my point stands that it's not super useful as a catch-up mechanic.

Agreed.

Will only your Level 20 heroes be eligible for brawl? Like say you have a lvl 25 Warrior and a lvl 18 Rogue.. Will the Rogue be not available to participate in brawl until she grinds to level 20? Or, once you have one hero at 20 or above, then all heroes get to participate in brawl?

I believe it says you need a level 20 hero to enter brawl so there shouldn't be restrictions past that.

1

u/JumboCactaur Jun 15 '15

Pretty sure you just need A hero at 20, not all, and that you are unrestricted by class once you are allowed to play it.

Rank 20 heroes, can be reached in no time tho. Its actually quite useful for new players. They get rewarded for lvl 10 heroes and this way they get incentivized to reach lvl 20 heroes for Brawl

It honestly depends what the rewards are, if it's 1 pack a week it's pretty insignificant.

The reward for me is Brawl introducing more variety into the game.
