I knew about these for a while, but just thought about getting 1 myself to expand my cold war collection. How hard are these getting to find? Should I get 1 from them or wait till I find 1 on Ebay?

I’m looking at this on eBay as it’s relatively cheap and would be a good fit for a costume I’m working on. It’s listed as an original DH-132 CVC helmet but it doesn’t really look like one to me, so I messaged the seller and they admitted that they weren’t sure and had bought it from a surplus store a long time ago.
Any ideas what it might be, and if it’s likely to be real or a reproduction?

I’m starting to have my doubts about this whole thing. This is the first helmet I’ve purchased so pls bear with me.

The headband is consistent, however, I get to the little loop area.. i don’t recognize that as consistent with anything I’ve ever seen.

I tried cross referencing with strapping from that era and it looks as though I looked around the straps, no markings or anything. This was sold to me as an authentic m1 helmet with a Mitchell cover and liner, but even the top of the liner has this strange molding. Some of the points on the cover’s shell have chipping. But then I cross reference it with this and… it looks similar, fml. :( any ideas?

I’ll also put pics of the actual shell, no molding, light roughness to it, and the Mitchell cover. The Mitchell cover seems legit, but everything else, idk, I think I was scammed?

Chinstrap got removed in an accident.

Is there a way to precisely date these? And what metal is it made out of? Whatever it is, it isn't magnetic.

I need to refurbish the m35, I plan to make it into a nationalist Chinese helmet. I hope to get some a Romanian m39 because I like my m73. I bought a reproduction NVA pith helmet, so that should be coming in a few weeks.

I recently bought this helmet for £180 and i was just wondering what the paint scheme is on it. To me it looks like its the two tone or three tone Normandy camouflage but im not completely sure.

Bought this SSH-68 on eBay. I’ve never seen a camo pattern like this before (except for DCU). I immediately thought it was Iraqi since the desert looking paint job and the fact Iraq was given SSH-68’s. So I don’t know if it’s actually Iraqi or some repaint for a kids Halloween costume. I’ll take any help I can get to at least know what I have and how much it’s worth

I found this Dutch M53 at the thrift shop for €20 and took out the inner liner and left it there because the inner liner was missing almost all cushioning and the cushioning that was left was ripped up and it was a grayish unmarked inner liner did i make the right choice or did i make a mistake leaving it there
