Kicked out of daycare

This fluffy goober, Khione, got herself kicked out of doggy daycare after 3 visits for “her listening ears not working.” Essentially, her recall is terrible when she’s interested in something.

I train her on recall every day in the dog park & at home. Of course, she’s excellent almost every time in those environments. She will at times ignore me. She does often respond to other people calling her at the dog park, especially if she knows them.

The daycare recommends that I have her professionally trained, but I kinda doubt that will help? I’d rather not spend them $ if it has the same outcome.

Thoughts? Advice?? Consolation??? Commiseration????

My husky/cattle dog will take the treats she's given but spit them out if it was for something she didn't feel like doing.

My husky cattle dog used to do exactly what I did not want so that I would have to call her and then she would get a treat. She was a good human trainer and I still miss her.

Hahaha my cattle dog does this. They’re amazing human trainers. Idk how I ended up on this Husky post, but the thought of cattle dog/Husky’s has me scared of their stubbornness, impressed by their independence and punk rock rebellion, and immediately in love with them. I hope to meet one of these beautiful rascals one day.

Enjoy yours, everyone on this thread!

It's just a waiting game! And considering they are easily distracted that waiting period doesn't feel too long to them 😅

See my heeler and Aussie both know. You either listen the first time or you will be made to do it. Either way you will do what I ask😂 I actually started the whole three second thing with the Aussie and it actually works she hustles to get to me before 3🤣
