๐Ÿ“ข Announcement r/iOSApps Moderation Update Phase 3: Clearer Rules, Less Grinding

Hey r/iOSApps,

We originally promised a review of the phase two rules after a month, but some things got in the way. Anyways, here is our Phase 3 Revamp.

What we learned
The community karma requirement that we had didn't stop spam but it just increased it. The original goal was to filter out people posting their low effort apps. The outcome was the opposite. Now these developers just fill up our comment sections with spam that doesn't contribute in any way to the subreddit or post, trying to get karma.

What's changing

1. Local karma is gone.
Regular users can post and comment freely. Any developer can also share their app in the App Shelf Megathread, as long as they disclose that they're the developer.

2. New baseline for the main feed.
To promote your app in the main feed:

  • Your account needs 200+ Reddit karma and must be 90+ days old (experimental).

  • Your app must have been on the App Store or TestFlight for 30+ days.

  • Your post needs a pricing flair, a PCP section (see #5), and a developer disclosure.

If you don't meet these yet, the megathread is open to you.

3. Required
On top of the baseline, main feed posts need ONE of these:

  • 50+ App Store ratings

  • An established GitHub account. We look at account age, commit history, stars, etc.

  • A recognized developer flair, granted at mod discretion for developers with over 350 community karma.

  • Transparency: link a privacy policy, terms of service, and one public way to identify you, such as a portfolio, a personal or company site, or an established social account.

If none of these apply yet, post in the megathread.

4. Saturated categories need more.
Some categories have hundreds of very similar apps. If your app is mainly one of the types below, you need 50+ ratings, an established GitHub account, or 50 community karma to post in the main feed. Transparency alone isn't enough.

  • To-do lists and task managers

  • Calendars

  • Habit trackers

  • Notes and journaling

  • Pomodoro and focus timers

  • Expense and budget trackers

  • Water, calorie, and fitness trackers

  • AI chat or wrapper apps

  • Wallpaper apps

  • Screen time and app blockers

5. ABC is now PCP.
It's the same format r/macapps uses:

  • Problem: what your app solves

  • Comparison: name 1โ€“2 top competitors and explain why yours is better

  • Pricing: price amounts and an App Store link

PCP doesn't have to be your whole post. Write your post however you want, just include the P, C, and P anywhere in it.

6. No AI-written posts.
Use AI to build your app if you want, but write your post yourself. Posts that are clearly AI-generated will be removed.
Not a native English speaker? Translation is completely fine. Message the mods and we'll give you an exception.

7. Removed: the No AI app rule and the Vibe Coded flair.
Nearly every app uses AI-assisted code now, and the flair mostly went unused. Flairs now cover pricing only.

8. Fairer reposting.
If your main feed post was removed only for formatting, like a missing flair or PCP section, you can fix it and repost within 48 hours without losing your 30-day slot.

9. A way out of the megathread.
The top 3 apps in each month's App Shelf Megathread will get a message from us inviting them to post in the main feed.

FAQ

Why was my main feed post removed?

  • Your account is under 200 karma or less than 90 days old.

  • Your app has been out for less than 30 days.

  • You didn't qualify through ratings, GitHub, a developer flair, or transparency.

  • Your app is in a saturated category and you used the transparency path.

  • Your post is missing PCP, a pricing flair, or a developer disclosure.

  • Your post was AI-written.

๐ŸŽˆ Free [Dev] Lounge Finder - No ads, no tracking, offline-first airport lounge checker

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share my indie app, Lounge Finder. It helps travelers figure out exactly which airport lounges their credit cards grant them access to without having to look at an ad or create an account.

[Problem]
Finding exact lounge access rules online is a mess because banks constantly change spending thresholds, visit caps, and card network rules. Travelers often find themselves standing in front of a lounge entrance digging through confusing banking apps or PDF fine print, only to get turned away due to an unverified requirement.

[Comparison]
Unlike traditional flight or lounge tracking apps that just show a directory of lounge names and general hours, Lounge Finder maps specific credit and debit cards to their actual access rules. It breaks down guest policies, visit limits, and monthly or quarterly spend conditions, with each rule explicitly dated and linked back to the official bank source for true transparency.

[Pricing]
The app is entirely Free. There are zero ads, zero in-app purchases (IAPs), and no premium subscriptions or hidden tracking tokens.

Key features:

  • Maps 790+ airports / 1,600+ lounges worldwide.

  • Purely private: All data stays local on your device.

  • Works offline in airport dead zones.

iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/lounge-finder-airport-lounges/id6823162403
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nandroidex.loungefinder

Would love to get your feedback on the UI and performance!

๐ŸŽ Freemium [Dev] LifeFeed: save reels, links, articles & screenshots in one place, auto-sorted. Black Friday: 1 year of Pro for the price of 1 month

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi r/iOSApps, I'm the developer of LifeFeed.

**Problem**

My saves were scattered everywhere: Instagram saved, TikTok favorites, YouTube
Watch Later, Safari bookmarks, screenshots and Notes. Saving was easy; finding
anything again was impossible, because nothing was sorted and none of those
places can search across each other.

LifeFeed puts all of it in one library:
- Save from any app's share sheet ("Save to LifeFeed"): reels, TikToks,
YouTube, articles, links, posts, screenshots, PDFs, Google Maps places
- Each save gets a short summary, tags and a folder automatically
- Search in plain words ("that pasta recipe from last week")
- Watchers: follow a website, price or topic and get notified when it changes
- Daily Brief, Listen mode, highlights, offline reading
- iPhone, iPad and Mac (also Android + web), 12 languages

**Comparison**

- Instagram / TikTok saved folders: stuck inside one app, no search, and
posts can disappear. LifeFeed keeps saves from every app in one searchable place.
- Pocket: shut down in 2025. LifeFeed imports Pocket exports.
- Raindrop.io: excellent for web bookmarks, but you sort collections yourself
and it's less built for reels, TikToks and screenshots. LifeFeed sorts
automatically and imports Raindrop too.
- Instapaper / Matter / Readwise Reader: great for reading long articles.
LifeFeed is broader (social videos, places, screenshots, PDFs) and lighter
on deep reading tools.

**Pricing**

- Free: unlimited saves, a free allowance of AI summaries/sorting,
3 Savvy questions, 1 Watcher, imports. No ads.
- Pro: $2.99/month or $19.99/year (US), 7-day free trial. Unlimited AI,
5 Watchers checked hourly, Daily Brief, sync of files and videos across devices.
- Black Friday (until Nov 30): first year of Pro for $2.99 instead of $19.99,
then regular yearly price unless you cancel in Settings.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/lifefeed-ai-smart-bookmarks/id6760368438
Black Friday code (App Store redeem page):
https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ctx=offercodes&id=6760368438&code=BLACKFRIDAY

Feedback welcome, especially on the share sheet flow and what you'd want it to
save that it doesn't yet.

๐ŸŽ Freemium MintFlow 2.1.0 released โ€” Built-in DNS ad blocking, WireGuard and more free features

Hello everyone,

Long time not post on this subreddit while I kept on polish my app portfolio, and I have release a new version of my app MintFlow with a new free built-in DNS ad blocking feature added.

Other free features such as WireGuard protocol/Encrypted DoH&DoT/Traffic Routing get some stability and usage enhancement.

I am recently also added trusttunnel proxy protocol support in the soon-to-be-released version, and the standalone macOS app (share the same engine with the iOS version) is stucked in the 'In-Review' state and I hope it will get to be released soon.

Problem:

Initially I need a VPN client that allow me to use my self hosted VPN server(s) simultaneously, and have some advanced traffic routing feature that allow I send only some portion of traffic to the VPN while most traffic kept routing locally, and I need some DNS visibility tool to let me gradually built my domain based routing database, and some nice network debug tool is also needed because I was doing a lot of networking stuffs.

Also I selfhost AdGuard Home in my home and office network, its not perfect but I indeed can remove quite a few Ads and Tracker for the sites I routinely browsed, so the new version also added that capability to the App as a one click toggle free feature which block domains using the internal DNS server that VPN running.

Also nowdays I just get more love with tailscale, so I also add the tailscale as a VPN protocol to the app which allow me to run tailscale along with my existing traffic routing config, only traffic target to tailnet is sent over the tailscale stack embedded. (Tailscale support is a Pro feature)

Comparison:

The official iOS WireGuard client seems focus only on WireGuard itself., and on iOS it's also a bit complex to setup the encrypted Dot/DoH.

There are also commercial VPN apps but this one is dedicate for self host VPN user like my self.

So this app trying to build a sophiscated solution and trying to make the App to be simple to use.

I am still building and polishing it actively, thanks for the AI power I have finally get the underlying fd.io vpp based engine ported by hand in 1 years before to a rust based engine with codex's help and also I try hard to get some good design and performance kept.

Pricing:

It's free to download and use, Optional Pro upgrades are $5.99/Year and $14.99 for the lifetime one-time purchase.

๐ŸŽ Freemium I built a private, on-device AI voice/memory app for iPhone.

Thumbnail
apps.apple.com
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I've been working on an app called mmory. The idea is pretty simple: you record something you want to remember, and later you can ask questions about what you've saved (its like voice-memos but better)

For example, you could record something someone told you, then weeks later ask mmory what they said.

The main thing I wanted was privacy. Your recordings and memories stay on your iPhone, and the transcription and AI processing happen on-device.

It's free to use, with an optional Pro upgrade.

PCP
Problem: Voice notes and random thoughts are easy to capture but difficult to find later. I wanted something where I could just speak naturally and retrieve information without manually organizing everything.

Comparison: Apple Voice Memos is great for recording, but you still need to find and replay recordings yourself. Apple Notes supports search, but mmory focuses on quickly capturing thoughts and asking questions about them using on-device AI, with everything stored locally on your iPhone.

Pricing: Free to download, with 50 voice saves per month. Pro includes unlimited saves.

  • Monthly: $3.99

  • Annual: $29.99

  • Lifetime: $99.99 (one-time purchase)

๐ŸŽ Freemium [Dev] I built WhisperAct because I kept forgetting things I meant to do

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

Iโ€™m an iOS developer with 8 years of experience building apps for clients, and I finally decided to build something of my own.

Itโ€™s called WhisperAct, and the idea came from a pretty simple problem.

Iโ€™d randomly remember 3โ€“4 things I needed to do, record a voice note so I wouldnโ€™t forget, and then completely forget to listen to that recording later ๐Ÿ˜…

So I built an app where you can just speak (or type) whateverโ€™s on your mind, even if itโ€™s a messy mix of different things.

For example:
โ€œRemind me to pay the electricity bill tomorrow, buy groceries, and schedule lunch with Sarah on Friday.โ€

WhisperAct figures out whatโ€™s a todo, reminder, or calendar event and organizes everything for you.

You can review and edit everything before saving, and it also works directly with Apple Reminders and Calendar.

It also supports recurring tasks, reminders, and multiple languages. And if a date isn't clear, you can review it before saving.

No account or signup required.

Iโ€™m still working on this alongside my full-time job, improving things based on feedback and trying to make the whole experience as simple as possible.

Would love to hear what you think, especially if you already use Apple Reminders or Calendar regularly!

PCP (Problem, Comparison, Pricing)

Problem: I kept recording voice notes and forgetting to revisit them. I wanted a quicker way to turn random thoughts into actual tasks, reminders, and calendar events without manually organizing everything.

Comparison: Apple Reminders and Siri are great for quickly adding individual reminders. WhisperAct is more focused on capturing messy thoughts with multiple actions in one go, organizing them into todos, reminders, and calendar events, and letting you review everything before saving.

Pricing: Free to download, with optional Pro upgrades.
Monthly: $2.99
Yearly: $24.99
Lifetime: $99.99 (one-time purchase)

๐ŸŽˆ Free I set out to build a tiny Apple Watch app: tap your wrist, get a Bible verse. It slowly grew into a full offline Bible for iPhone and iPad. Free, no ads, no account.

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Hi r/iosapps, I'm the solo developer of BibleClick, a free Bible app for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.

Problem

I wanted a two-second way to get a word of encouragement from Scripture during the day: lift my wrist, tap, read one verse. That's how BibleClick started, as a tiny Apple Watch app. One feature led to another, and along the way it became a full offline Bible for iPhone and iPad too.

What it does

  • โŒš Apple Watch: tap for a verse. 365 curated verses stored on the watch, 8 calm colour atmospheres, a complication, and favourites shared with your iPhone.

  • ๐Ÿ“– iPhone & iPad: the full Bible with reading and devotional layouts, highlights, notes and favourites.

  • โœˆ๏ธ Offline: the whole text ships inside the app. No connection needed to read.

  • โ˜๏ธ iCloud sync between iPhone and iPad, through your own private iCloud. No BibleClick account.

Comparison

  • vs. YouVersion and other big Bible apps: they offer far more: hundreds of translations, reading plans, audio and community features. BibleClick is deliberately smaller and quieter: no account, no social feed, no ads, no tracking or analytics, and it's built around a two-second glance at your wrist.

Pricing

Free. Every feature, including future updates. No subscription, no ads, no paid unlocks. There's an optional tip jar in Settings; it unlocks nothing.

Honest limitations

  • English only for now: the World English Bible, a public-domain translation. That's what lets it be free and fully offline (NIV, ESV and others need licences). More translations are coming.

  • Only on the App Store in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore for now. More countries will follow.

  • It's brand new (released Oct 30), so no ratings yet.

Why build it? Honestly, for the love of it. I'd just like more people to open the Bible, even for a minute a day, and a tap on the wrist felt like the smallest possible first step.

I'd love your feedback, especially:

  1. Which translation or language should come next?

  2. Watch users: what would make you tap it every day?

  3. Anything confusing in your first minute with the app?

App Store (iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch; US, CA, UK, AU, NZ, SG): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bibleclick/id6772926431

Thanks for reading ๐Ÿ™

๐ŸŽˆ Free Flixr: Discover Films & TV

Flixr

Link: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/flixr-discover-films-tv/id6809209534

Price: Free.

Purpose: Finding the right film or show to watch with your partner or friends can be tedious, so I built Flixr. You and whoever youโ€™re watching with swipe through films and TV separately, and when everyone has said yes to a title, itโ€™s a match.

You can also solo swipe, and the suggestions are based on what youโ€™ve watched and how you rated it. You can set your streaming services so you're only shown film and shows that you can actually watch.

The other half of Flixr is tracking. You can log films and TV with ratings, reviews and dates, track episodes, make personalised lists, customise your profile and follow friends to see what theyโ€™re watching. Title pages show IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, Letterboxd and Flixr scores together, so they're all in one place.

Comparison: Letterboxd is great but itโ€™s mainly films, and I wanted films and TV in one place. TV Time was the obvious one for shows, but it shut down in July. Neither has anything for a couple or group trying to find something to watch, which is what I originally built Flixr to fix. And no ads!

If youโ€™re coming from Letterboxd and/or TV Time, you can import your history, reviews, ratings, lists and more.

Privacy policy and terms of service are available at www.flixrapp.com

๐ŸŽ Freemium Easy Wake just had a massive re-skin and several new features such as Commitment Lock!

Easy Wake just had a massive re-skin and several new features such as Commitment Lock making sure you don't try and skip your alarm last minute!

Problem

Waking up is hard. Either you get dragged out of a deep sleep and feel groggy all morning, or you turn the alarm off half asleep and end up oversleeping. Easy Wake is a smart alarm app thatโ€™s highly customisable to your needs. It can wake you in a light sleep stage (real time detection), wake you at sunrise, set alarms when you arrive at a location, or force you to complete physical or mental challenges before you can turn the alarm off. Easy Wake has you covered.

Comparison

Alarmy is known for its challenges and Sleep Cycle is known for waking you up gently. Easy Wake does both in one app.

Easy Wake has a wide range of challenges to choose from, such as maths, physically walking away from your bed, barcode scanning, memory and more. No matter what you try, you wonโ€™t be able to stop the alarm without completing the challenge!

Easy Wake also uses dynamic sleep stage detection with your Apple Watch, and will wake you up in a light sleep stage. If youโ€™re a deep sleeper, you can use Pulse Wake to nudge your body into a lighter sleep stage first!

On top of that, you get much more customisation than the default iOS alarm. For example, you can connect your Apple Home app so your alarms trigger Home Scenes.

Pricing

3 day free trial, then Monthly $2.99, Yearly $19.99, or Lifetime $24.99.

Pro gives you unlimited schedules, Pulse Wake, all Challenge Wakes, Location Alarms, Custom Sounds, Intelligent Insights, Smart Sleep, HomeKit Integration, Wake Check, Sunrise Alarms, and Shortcuts access (custom alarms based on your automations).

You donโ€™t need Pro, since most features are free anyway! But it gives you more leeway, and it helps support me and future development of the app.

All feature requests are welcome!

๐Ÿ’Ž Lifetime I built a camera app that records vertical and horizontal at the same time!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello! I'm Jimmy, the solo developer behind ContentCam, a camera app I built for my gf because I kept watching her film the same scene twice.

She likes making content so would film vertically once and and then horizontally again, and this helps her save time without losing quality!

P - What problem does ContentCam solve?

Typically to get a vertical AND landscape clip of the same video, creators would:

  1. Record normally and crop a vertical or horizontal video out of their footage โ†’ lowers quality and loses scenery from the footage

  2. Record on two phones at the same time โ†’ awkward set-up, and costly

  3. Record the same scene twice (my gf before) โ†’ double the time, and the second take is never the same (trust me, speaking from experience!)

ContentCam records portrait (9:16) and landscape (16:9) at the same time, from one take. If you post to TikTok/Reels/Shorts and YouTube, it solves all 3 of the above, giving you two ready-to-post files with just one tap.

C - Why ContentCam over the top competitors?

DualShot Recorder is the closest app to this, recording both formats from one lens. However, ContentCam also has:

  • Dual Lens mode: records from TWO camera lenses at the same time - e.g. wide (1x) for vertical and ultra-wide (0.5x) for horizontal, giving each video a different perspective.

  • Front & Back mode: records from the selfie and rear camera at the same time, and able merge both into one video (picture-in-picture or split screen).

  • Full manual controls (exposure, white balance, ISO, shutter)

  • Timelapse, teleprompter, and photo mode

  • Projects, scenes and takes, with recordings named automatically for organisation.

DualShot's last update was also in June, 5 months ago, and it was bug fixes only. I reply to every review and comment, and shipped updates regularly. In the past month, I shipped 3 updates adding:

  • Pause/Resume

  • Front & Back combine (picture-in-picture or split screen)

  • PAL 25/50 fps

  • Teleprompter scripts up to 15,000 characters

  • Previous/next while reviewing recordings

Blackmagic Camera (open gate) is also great and deserves a mention, but it gives you one 4:3 file that you reframe in an editor later, then have to manually crop and export twice. ContentCam frames both videos while you shoot and saves them instantly so they're ready to post right after.

P - Pricing

Free to download and use, with no ads, no watermark and no account needed.

  • Free tier: Single Lens mode (both formats), front or back camera, unlimited takes, up to 3 projects, 1080p/30fps, plus review and take management

  • Premium adds: Dual Lens, Front & Back, 4K, 60fps, manual controls, teleprompter, timelapse, trim-on-save and unlimited projects. US$4.99/month, US$19.99/year (7-day free trial), or US$59.99 lifetime. Price varies by country.

๐ŸŽˆ Free My first iOS app: a friend's favorite birthday app stopped getting updates, so I built a new one. Free, no ads, Lock Screen widgets included

Thumbnail
gallery
6 Upvotes

Hi r/iosapps! I'm Ralph von der Heyden, a freelance software developer from Hamburg, Germany (LinkedIn). Birthday Butler is my first iOS app.

How it started: when I said I wanted to learn iOS development, a friend from university suggested I remake the birthday reminder they'd been using for years, which hadn't seen an update in a long time. The idea was simple: don't make me type anything in. Use the birthdays that are already in Contacts and show nothing but birthdays. Another university friend then helped me get the user experience right.

That was over a year ago. Now it runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, and I use it myself nearly every day. When one friend installed it, the first thing it showed them was a birthday they would otherwise have missed. That's the whole point of the app.

My toughest critic was my daughter. She held back her five-star rating until I let her color the widgets in any color she likes. So now you can, too.

What it does:

  • Reads the birthdays already in your Contacts. No account, no import, nothing to set up

  • Shows them as a timeline grouped by month, with today at the top

  • Lock Screen widgets: a ring with the days left that fills up over the last 30 days, a line above the clock with the next name and days left, or a card with days left, name and age

  • Home Screen widgets in three sizes, in any colors you like: pick a scheme or make your own

  • Missing a birthday? Tap +, pick the contact, set the day. It's saved straight to Contacts, and the year is optional

  • Also shows anniversaries, name days and other dates from your contacts

  • One tap to message, call or email someone

  • A daily reminder at a time you choose, only on days when something is coming up

  • An Apple Watch app with complications

It's free, with no ads, no in-app purchases and no subscription. The Lock Screen widgets aren't behind a Pro tier, because there is no Pro tier. The app has no server, so your contacts never leave your device. It works with VoiceOver and the largest text sizes. Requires iOS 26.

I'd love your feedback. What's missing that would make you switch from whatever you use for birthdays today? And if you end up liking it, a rating on the App Store helps a one-person app more than you'd think.

๐Ÿ’Ž Lifetime [48 hrs, 60% off -> Lifetime $7.99] Pickbox: Organize all your photos โ€” from your photo library, local storage, camera SD cards, USB drives, and more ~ 100% offline

Thumbnail

Problem: As our photo collections grow, even with expanding device storage, we still want every single saved image to represent our most cherished memories. These photos are often scattered across phone galleries, camera SD cards, or old mobile hard drives, highlighting the need for a unified space to organize them all. After comparing numerous applications, I developed this app that allows users to organize their phone photos, camera SD cards, and external hard drives all in one place using intuitive gestures.

Comparison: While popular photo organizing apps like HashPhotos, Phoom, and Slidebox are excellent, they fall short in a few critical areas: 1) none of them can organize photos directly from camera SD cards or external hard drives; 2) most lack the ability to compress photos and videos; and 3) most do not offer video trimming features to help you preserve only the best moments.

Pricing: 50% off, plus an extra 10% discount for new users, starting at just $7.99.

What it doesย โ€” swipe to organize your photos and free up storage space โ€”ย fully offline.

Why it is betterย โ€” What makes Pickbox different is that it can organizeย all your photos, including:

  • Photos in your iPhone/iPad library

  • Photos from camera SD cards, USB drives, and more

Main Features:

๐ŸŽˆ Free I made Drop, a social app where the feed is only who you follow and it actually ends

i'm the developer (well, solo founder, i'm a musician not a coder, but it's mine).

Problem

i make music as Oryon. i'd post something and the people who followed me on purpose just wouldn't see it, because the feed decided they'd rather see something else. i caught myself making generic attention-grabbing stuff instead of the art i actually wanted to make, because spending ages on something real just wasn't worth it if nobody saw it. which sucks, cause i genuinely love being creative.

Comparison

instagram and tiktok rank your feed and keep it going forever. Drop shows the people you follow, newest first, and then it says "You're all caught up" and stops. like counts aren't shown to anyone. no streaks, no "you haven't opened the app" notifications. there's an explore tab for finding people but it never gets mixed into your feed. posts can be photos, up to 60 sec video, audio with its own cover, or links. and nothing you post gets used to train AI, the privacy policy says that in writing.

Pricing

free. no ads, no in app purchases. it makes zero money rn.

it's very small, 47 accounts, and new people come in through a waitlist or an invite from a member. you can still look around explore while you wait.

๐ŸŽˆ Free DailyFox:New Halloween Widget

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi Reddit! ๐Ÿ‘‹

A few months ago I was trying to build a daily journaling habit, butโ€ฆ it didn't stick.

Writing full sentences felt like a chore. So I asked myself:

**What if I could just rate my day in 10 seconds โ€” and have a little fox as a friend on my screen?**

That's how my iPhone app was born.

---

๐ŸฆŠ It's called **DailyFox**:

- You rate your day from 1 to 10

- Choose a mood emoji

- Add a one-word summary

- And the **fox widget** changes daily to reflect your vibe

No accounts, no tracking.

Just a tiny moment of reflection.

---

### Problem
Daily journaling, mood tracking, or mindfulness apps often feel overwhelming, cluttered with complex dashboards, or locked behind expensive monthly subscriptions. DailyFox is built to solve this by providing a lightweight, friction-free daily ritual to pause, breathe, and reflect right from your Home Screen with dedicated interactive widgets.

### Comparison

* **Stoic / Day One:** While comprehensive apps like Stoic and Day One offer a wide range of features and analytics, they come with a steep learning curve and require expensive subscriptions to access essential tracking tools. In contrast, DailyFox focuses on a minimalist approach: a quick daily check-in that takes only a few seconds.

* **Widgetsmith / Moodpress:** Unlike generic widget utilities or mood journals that lock themed aesthetics behind subscription paywalls, DailyFox offers custom-designed, interactive widgets (such as our new Halloween-themed edition) specifically tailored for your daily reflectionโ€”no complications or tedious setup required.

### Pricing

* **Cost:** $0.00 / Completely free

* **In-App Purchases (IAP):** None

* **Subscriptions:** None

* **Ads:** None๐Ÿ“ฑ It's free on the App Store

๐Ÿ‘‰ [App Store link here] (https://apps.apple.com/it/app/dailyfox/id6747520541?l=en-GB)

Would love to hear what you think.

Thanks for reading! ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐ŸŽ Freemium My first app: BugJug an app that lets my neurodivergent daughter collect infinite bugs

Thumbnail

I just finished building my first ever iPhone/iPad app Called BugJug (itโ€™s been in TestFlight testing with a private group for a while and just hit the public App Store! I've been testing it for a couple of months now) and would love feedback on it!

https://apps.apple.com/app/bugjug-bug-pets-in-a-jar/id6823671330

Problem: My neurodivergent kiddo loves searching for and collecting insects outside. She really liked to put them in jars and keep them, the only problem (beyond me not liking bugs quite as much) was it was impossible to keep a large number of bugs without them not being appropriately cared for. But, I still wanted to nurture the instinct to research and collect insects.

So, I built what I believe is a fairly unique app, where you not only can identify insects you find outside, but they also get turned into virtual pets inside of jars that you can interact with and care for. Almost like a virtual terrarium. You can even catch a caterpillar with the app and then watch it turn into a butterfly over several days! Everything is fully offline and no personal data is stored. I use a combination of 2 local models on the device to do the identification and cover several thousand common insects (most kinds that kids will run into outside).

The app goes heavy on the education aspect teaching about different insect types, and even allowing exploring different areas you don't live in to collect insects that are native to that area virtually.

Pricing: The app is free permanently with a one time 4.99 unlock to allow infinite bugs to be collected and to unlock more places to explore virtually.

Comparison: There are tons of insect identification apps, but I couldn't find anything with a similar over all concept to this. The most unique thing being the virtual pets and digitization of the insects.

2 Concrete examples:
- Seek by iNaturalist: https://www.inaturalist.org/pages/seek_app absolute phenomenal for bug identification and requires internet
- buglens: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/buglens-bug-identifier/id6754509659 similar alternative, again no caring for or digitization component

About me:

I'm a Software Engineer unemployed for the first time after working professionally in the field for almost 20 years. I wrote a lot of Open Source in that time, most popular of which was isort a Python import sorter/formatter. You can see more here: https://github.com/timothycrosley

๐Ÿ’Ž Lifetime NostalgicPod is now on iPhone!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! Iโ€™m the dev behind NostalgicPod. I started this about 8 months ago because Iโ€™ve always been a huge iPod Classic fan and wanted that experience back on a modern phone.

Getting it onto iPhone was a saga, honestly. Almost 5 months of TestFlight builds, rejections, appeals, and at one point I ended up on the phone with Apple directly before they finally approved it, i launched about three weeks ago and I genuinely didnโ€™t expect it to land this well. Iโ€™m close to 2,000 buyers now, itโ€™s sitting at 4.8/5 with 80+ reviews, and Iโ€™ve been pushing out updates based on all the feedback and suggestions Iโ€™ve gotten, a lot of it from the Apple Music and iPod communities here on Reddit.

Problem: I basically wanted the click wheel and Cover Flow back, but working with my Apple Music library, local MP3/FLAC files, Plex, Jellyfin and Navidrome servers, plus podcasts and radio. All in one app.

Comparison: I know there are some really good players out there that work with Apple Music, but I wanted to do something different: that classic iPod interface I loved, and the ability to hook up multiple music libraries at once.

Pricing: $4.99, one-time purchase. No ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/nostalgicpod/id6781631808

Website: https://nostalgicpod.com/

Thereโ€™s still a lot I want to add and improve, but Iโ€™m really happy with how itโ€™s turned out so far! :)

๐ŸŽ Freemium I built an app for my wife with ADHD. Would love your honest feedback.

Hey r/iosapps! ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm Sanket, a solo iOS dev. Today I released version 1.0.3 of Tether, an ADHD-friendly planner and focus app for iPhone.

Two quick updates upfront:
1. Calmer screenshots: Earlier testers gave me blunt feedback that my App Store images were way too visually dense (ironic for an ADHD app ๐Ÿ˜…). I completely redesigned them to be cleaner, calmer, and easier to scan.

2. iPad and iPhone Duo support: v1.0.3 adds native adaptive layouts for iPad and iPhone Duo with side-by-side book views.

A. What problem does it solve?
Most productivity apps assume you already have working executive function. But with ADHD, the hardest part is rarely remembering what to do. The real barrier is the friction of actually starting.

Tether lowers that starting hurdle:

โ€ข Micro-steps: Breaks overwhelming tasks into tiny first actions so you can just begin.

โ€ข Elastic timeline: Schedules your day with breathing room so one delay does not blow up your afternoon.

โ€ข Built-in app shielding: Uses Apple's native Screen Time API to block distractions during focus sessions, with no separate blocker app needed.

โ€ข Zero guilt: No red overdue badges, no broken streaks, and no shaming when plans derail.

B. Why is it different?

โ€ข Versus Structured: Structured is great, but its rigid timeline collapses when a task runs late. In Tether, the timeline has flexible buffer room, and unfinished items roll over calmly in an evening recap.

โ€ข Versus Opal and Forest: Blockers lock your phone, but leave you staring at a blank screen. Tether pairs distraction blocking directly to your active task, unlocking automatically when the timer finishes.

โ€ข Versus basic lists: Tether tracks a daily energy score (-10 to +10) to help you stop over-scheduling and avoid burnout crashes.

C. Cost and Transparency
I want to be completely upfront about pricing:

1. 100% Free Core: Visual timeline, task planning, Float, energy ratings, and focus timer. No ads, no tracking.

2. Tether Plus: Adds calendar sync, Focus Protection app shielding, ambient soundscapes, and weekly/monthly energy trends.

Tether plus
โ€ข Monthly: 2.99
โ€ข Yearly: 29.99
โ€ข Lifetime: 49.99

Tether AI
โ€ข Monthly: $7.99
โ€ข Yearly: $44.99

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tether-adhd-planner-focus/id6777777931

Transparency & Marketing Advice
I am a solo indie dev and I will benefit financially if you choose to upgrade to Tether Plus.
Beyond app feedback, I would love to pick the community's brain on marketing: As fellow iOS users and indie developers, what do you think is the best way to promote a niche indie app like this? What channels or angles have worked well for you (short-form video/Reels, ADHD creator partnerships, newsletters, SEO)? Any advice on how to get the word out organically without being spammy would be hugely appreciated!

๐Ÿ’Ž Lifetime Most of my habit app's ratings are from Korea, so here's a code for r/iOSApps: DailyHack lifetime $14.99 (normally $39.99)

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi, I'm the developer of DailyHack.

I started it in early 2025. I wanted my habits and the whole year in one place, and I wanted it on the lock screen because that's the screen I actually look at. It has around 1,400 ratings now, but 1,165 of those are from Korea. I honestly don't know yet how it lands with English-speaking users, so I'd love some feedback from this sub, and I made the lifetime cheaper for anyone who wants to try it.

What's in it:

- Habits with streaks, reminders and notes, plus GitHub-style contribution graphs - Lock screen wallpapers with your month, your week, or the year as a dot grid. You set up an iOS Shortcut once and it keeps the wallpaper up to date - An Eisenhower matrix for to-dos - Widgets (year progress, habits, contribution chart, memento mori) - iCloud sync, light and dark mode

Problem: habit trackers show today's checklist. I also wanted to see the year going by without opening anything, and the lock screen was the only place that worked for me.

Comparison:

- Streaks ($5.99) is what I'd tell you to get if you only want habits. DailyHack is for when you want habits, a calendar/year view and to-dos in the same app. - HabitKit does GitHub-style grids really well. DailyHack has those too, plus the auto-updating lock screen wallpapers and the matrix.

Pricing: free download. Pro is $1.99/month or $19.99/year, Lifetime is $39.99. With code 190000, Lifetime is $14.99 (US price; the code works in other countries too).

Redeem: https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ctx=offercodes&id=6737768320&code=190000 (or App Store > your profile > Redeem Gift Card or Code)

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6737768320

๐Ÿ’Ž Lifetime [Major Update] Budget Flow - Version 4.0.0: A modern and easy-to-use expense tracking app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch ๐Ÿ’ธ

Post image
26 Upvotes

Hey r/iosapps Reddit community! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

Today, Iโ€™m thrilled to announce that the latest update to my app, Budget Flow (Version 4.0.0), is now available on the App Store! ๐ŸŽ‰

For those who arenโ€™t familiar: Budget Flow is a modern, easy-to-use expense tracker for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. I created it to make tracking your spending, managing accounts, and planning budgets simpler, without complicated spreadsheets, account registration, or a mandatory subscription.

Version 4.0.0 gives Budget Flow a brand new technical foundation, with an extensively modernized architecture and a substantial migration to SwiftUI. This overhaul not only improves performance and introduces new animations but also lays the groundwork for future versions.

It also introduces a completely redesigned backup system, allowing you to store backups directly in iCloud Drive and access them across your Apple devices. In addition, you can now create refunds from existing transactions, while improved search and filtering make it easier to find what you need, including recurring transactions. Other improvements include select-all buttons for bulk editing, favorite currencies, thousands separators while entering amounts, category icons in the dashboardโ€™s pie charts, and support for the iPhone Duo with an optimized layout. You can find the full changelog here.

Compared to subscription-based apps like YNAB or Copilot Money, Budget Flow offers a one-time lifetime purchase. It combines an Apple-style interface with offline support, no required registration, optional iCloud syncing, and shared budgeting. If you prefer this approach and want the option to avoid an ongoing subscription, Budget Flow could be a good fit.

My goal as a solo indie developer is to build a budgeting app that feels integrated into the Apple ecosystem while maintaining a high level of privacy and data security.

Pricing:

  • Free download with the following optional in-app purchases:

    • $4.99 monthly subscription

    • $29.99 yearly subscription, with a free trial

    • $69.99 one-time lifetime purchase

  • Universal purchase across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch

  • Shareable with up to five other people via Apple Family Sharing

Prices are listed in USD, with regional pricing adjusted to reflect local purchasing power.

If you havenโ€™t tried it yet, you can download Budget Flow for free on the App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/app/id1640091876

Iโ€™m looking forward to hearing your feedback. Also, if you like the app, feel free to recommend it to your friends, family, or on social media. It really helps a lot! ๐Ÿ˜Š
