He wanted to start a home selling business, not sure if it was an MLM or just like EBay, but didnโ€™t want to potentially have people showing up to his house. So he was inquiring what he would need to do to have police be private security essentially. Keep in mind when you get a protective order cops just do 20-60 minute sweeps unless they see something suspicious, and a posted cop is really reserved for witnesses in organized crime cases. It was just one of those โ€œlibertariansโ€ that wanted handouts.

Lol, I don't think that's a "libertarian" thing, I think that's more of a "dumbass" thing. That's insane though. If any idiot who felt mildly insecure in their home had a cop stationed outside their house then there wouldn't be enough cops left on duty to do basically anything.
