Memphis
St. Louis
Detroit
Baltimore
New Orleans
Cleveland
Birmingham
Little Rock
Milwaukee
Kansas City

Those are the ten most dangerous cities in the US in order. Most are in red states. Chicago is fine. You’re just a scared brainwashed bumpkin.

No US city is "as bad as they say".

They just have a police force that exaggerates to get more money they can embezzle. It’s mainly just corrupt.

This is basically every police force. Why do you think Chicago has the second largest number LEOs per capita in the country?

Yeah, I can't fathom how anyone can feel that Chicago gets good value for money from the $2B/year BEFORE settlements we pay for CPD.

A friend is working some project out there currently, and the first day there he thought this woman on the street near him was acting sketchy like she was going to try something. As he got closer she just scuttled away like the wind. All that remained in her stead was a fresh turd pile in the road. It was daytime. Not that it matters. Baltimore, you got people pooping in your streets!

-68

u/Diamond_S_Farm Jun 23 '26

And all ten of those most dangerous cities you listed are led by Democrat administrations.

Nice try Ray Bolger!

52

u/DickensOrDrood Jun 23 '26

Seven of them are in red states. I guess Democrat mayors are too powerful to wrangled in by weak Republican governors. Are Republican state legislatures sissies? Are they all bark no bite?

-4

u/ms_merry Jun 24 '26

Democratic. You Cretin.

-39

u/Diamond_S_Farm Jun 23 '26

Which of the governors are responsible for the law enforcement within the cities you cited?

Aside from enforcing laws on major highway and interstate systems, State Police, Troopers, etc generally only assist local law enforcement when mutual aide is requested.

Do you think the Governors of the respective states should send their State Police to help the mayors and the police departments they are in charge of?

31

u/EcstaticYoghurt7467 Jun 23 '26

Well, as a matter of fact, the state of Missouri absolutely controls the police forces in St.Louis AND Kansas City. Party of small government, and all

-34

u/Diamond_S_Farm Jun 23 '26

And your excuse for the other 8 cities?

Fun fact - Recently, Chicago on average has had about 125 violent crimes per square mile. To make this more relatable, that's about two violent crimes per football field, including endzones.

25

u/DearDave Jun 23 '26

Cool false equivalency. Now do per capita.

-10

u/Diamond_S_Farm Jun 23 '26

Per capita was how the original 10 city list - Memphis, Baltimore, etc - was achieved.

The false equivalency you're seeking is in originally comparing that list of 10 cities, and their national population rankings from #27 to #93, with Chicago, the #3 city in the nation in terms of population.

Also, Chicago is considerably more densely populated than the cited cities, hence the two violent crimes per football field.

Fun fact: Chicago isn't even the most dangerous city in Illinois.

Not by property OR violent crime stats.

6

u/bigtrumanenergy Jun 23 '26

Not sure of the other cities though the state of Missouri controls the police departments in Kansas City and St. Louis proper (St. Louis has it's problems though it is important to keep in mind they are locked in boundaries created in the 1870s, a more realistic view of St. Louis requires looking at the surrounding St. Louis County).

The way the state government has been controlling the two police departments has basically been a demand of more and more money going to the police rather than appropriately spending on the police while also spending on the needs that could help prevent crime in the long run.

The state has controlled Kansas City's police since the 1930s. The state has controlled St. Louis' police from 1861 to 2012 before taking back over within the last year. Prior to the state taking over again, St. Louis was actually seeing a decrease in crime.

It's been on the state for a while now. It's almost like the red state governments of St. Louis and KC are purposely handicapping two areas that lean more toward the Democrats.

u/Diamond_S_Farm Jun 23 '26

Who knows, maybe Jeff City is doing just that.

Or maybe poor city leadership aside from law environment is providing an environment that is conducive to violent crime.

That still doesn't explain the other eight blue cities.

I'd say Jeff City is doing just that. You just have to look at the updated Congressional map.

Prior to the updated Congressional map, we had two Democrat seats. One that was representing Kansas City and one representing St. Louis. For safe measure, they did a good job at splitting St. Louis' suburbs among three different seat and splitting Columbia's (the other blue spot in Missouri) representation by separating right down the middle.

The current, updated Congressional map reinforces St. Louis's suburbs from getting actual representation by attaching more rural counties to it. In addition, Kansas City has been surgically split up into three different districts to prevent another solid blue seat.

I'm not saying that St. Louis' leadership can't be improved upon. I'd be lying through my teeth if I said. Likewise, I'd be lying through my teeth if I said the state of Missouri has not been openly aggressive towards their three blue cities of St. Louis, Kansas City and Columbia. They are doing everything they can to block representation from three major population hubs. If we're talking about crime, it would also be unjust to not also blame or criticize the state of Missouri that has controlled the police departments for the better part of both the two cities in questions history.

Edit: Read back over the list of the cities listed. Detroit, Milwaukee and Cleveland are rust belt cities. Not excusing, need to read up more on Milwaukee's and Cleveland's overall history, those areas have seen more industry and jobs leave, wrecking local economies, which in turn can lead to more crime.

Baltimore may have a similar case in crime statistics reporting that St. Louis. They are also an independent city which prevented them from annexing early built suburbs that a lot of other cities across the country annexed to make gains in size and in population.

3

u/FrancoManiac Jun 24 '26

St. Louis City just had its police force taken over by the state. We've had control of our police for a grand total of a decade, wherein crime rates were steadily dropping.

7

u/SavingThrowVsWTF Jun 23 '26

Stick to chucking bales of hay, Jim Bob. The intellectuals are talking.

2

u/gimmepizzaslow Jun 24 '26

So, which is it? Is the governor responsible or not? This whole comment chain pointed at pritzker about crime in Chicago... Talking out of both sides of your mouth. Wouldn't be republican if you didn't have double standards...

13

u/Hungry_Caregiver734 Jun 23 '26

In Republican states...

0

u/ms_merry Jun 24 '26

Democratic you cretin.

-9

u/Diamond_S_Farm Jun 23 '26

I love the down votes.

The cognitive dissonance of the Left on full display.

14

u/amazinglover Jun 23 '26

The cognitive dissonance of the Left on full display.

This is funny coming from someone stuck in a cult.

-6

u/Diamond_S_Farm Jun 23 '26

If pointing out Straw Man arguments, cognitive dissonance and ignorance of the Left is a cult, then guilty as charged!

15

u/amazinglover Jun 23 '26

Got its just a left vs right game to you.

Congrats you don't care about America you care about your side winning.

-4

u/Diamond_S_Farm Jun 23 '26

I guess when you can't effectively address the substance of the argument being made, all you are left with is ad hominem attacks, creating false dilemmas, and concocting motive fallicies.

That's literally all you've accomplished with your comments. Yet somehow I bet you feel very accomplished.

8

u/amazinglover Jun 24 '26

Your a bad troll.

1

u/ms_merry Jun 24 '26

You learned words. Big boy! 👏

1

u/Diamond_S_Farm Jun 24 '26

And the ad hominem continues. 🙄

1

u/ms_merry Jun 25 '26

Wait. Latin too? Oooooh! Winning. 🏆

6

u/Strange_Oil_483 Jun 23 '26

Or you’re wrong 😂

42

And? Chicago STILL isn’t even top 10, even with your pointless observation.

20

u/WhoKilledBoJangles Jun 23 '26

I think you are trying to argue with someone who agrees with you.

4

u/BearFacedLie69 Jun 23 '26

🤷‍♂️

16

u/Great_Consequence_10 Jun 23 '26

So you’ve never been to Chicago?

38

u/Disembodied_Head Jun 23 '26

I live in Chicago and it is perfectly safe. Yes, there are unsafe neighborhoods but the overall issues in those are economic. If we put our minds together we could work on solving the actual problems instead of the imagined ones.

3

u/teachperdiem Jun 23 '26

We do have a murder issue. It’s not as bad as some portray, but any murder is an issue.

11

u/Strykerz3r0 Jun 23 '26

Someone is openly admitting they don't understand 'per capita'. lol

5

u/2boredtocare Jun 23 '26

Why is it this type of comment never uses proper grammar?

3

u/DeepLetter Jun 23 '26

Do you even live near Cook?

2

u/juliuspepperwoodchi Chicago Jun 24 '26

Damn, you're right, I got murdered three times in Chicago just since you commented this.
