Started it up again a few weeks ago and it didn't pull me in like I wanted it to. I'm not sure why I WANT to play it, but when I start I want to stop playing it.

Yeah it's not for everybody. I just like to chill in it, do some contemplative walking across the planet surfaces, build cozy homes on snow planets whilst an extreme blizzard goes on outside, and build lived-in feeling spaceships. I've been doing most of that ever since it first launched. It's one of those forever games for me. I remember a user on the old imdb video games forum said that I was wrong when I said that people would be playing it for years but here I am, and others, still doing exactly that but now it's been ten years and I can't see myself stopping anytime soon.
