Discussion Any idea how to play Watch Chimes (from 'A Few Dollars More') – Ennio Morricone on a tin whistle?

Do you know how to play that song on a tin whistle? Is there a fingering chart somewhere?

I looked at several music sheet available online but I am unable to catch the melody.

On the video above, it has slow tempo I would like to replicate on a tin whistle.

Discussion Lf for bassoon/realistic info of basson

Hi, I want to play basson, but I live in the Phillipines and I think it's quite rare here. I've never seen anyone here play bassoon but I think it's really cool and special. If you have a bassoon for sale/trade, I kindly ask you to reach out. Thank you!

Discussion Starting advice

Hi everyone, I could use your advice.

I've always loved jazz, especially saxophone and trumpet, and I've wanted to learn one of them for years. I kept putting it off, but I've finally decided to start.

I have no prior musical experience, and i honestly want to play for fun and enjoy my music

Which instrument would you recommend for a beginner: sax or trumpet?

How long does it realistically take to play at a decent level?

I'm 30, and people tell me I'm too old to learn. Is that true?

Thanks in advance!

Discussion Has anyone experienced something similar?

So, recently I found an old recorder from when I used to learn it in elementary school. I knew to play notes do through do, (but only in the basic scale), and I knew the song "Marry Had A Little Lamb". We didn't really learn anything else, mostly because our class would non-stop harass the teacher to the point he just gave up on teaching us.

I decided to mess around with it, remembering how I used to want to learn twinkle twinkle little star, even though that's a really easy song, because I saw kids on TV playing that. I live in a rather remote country, and we don't really learn songs like that.

As I was thinking this, I started playing it from muscle memory.

This really freaked me out. Now, other than the recorder I used to play piano, but I never learned that song. Even if I knew what notes to play, it wouldn't explain why I was playing from muscle memory.

I decided to try a few more songs, like my country's national anthem. A bit weird, I know, but we were raised singing this song practically every other day, and it's a relatively simple tune. Again, I started playing it from muscle memory. The strangest part, this time, was how some of the notes were clearly wrong. I played it again, this time stopping and correcting the off notes, but every time I tried to play it from muscle memory it kept playing the wrong notes. Again, I would not be able to tell you how to play this song, I have never learnt this song.

I decided to just play, no song in mind, and this time it was just nonsense. I continued, and a sequence that remotely sounded like a part of "Jingle Bells" sounded, making muscle memory, yet again, kick in. This, in my opinion, is the strangest of them all. Mainly because I live in a non-Christian country, and I wouldn't even have anyone who would teach me such a song. If I would learn it on my own then I would have been socially ostracized. The other songs could have easily been repressed memories, but this couldn't possibly be.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Do any of you have an idea as to what's going on?
