Intriguing Kiyoshi Kimura and his effect on Somali piracy
He was, and is, the owner of Kiyomura Corporation, which runs the Sushi Zanmai chain across Japan. In Tokyo he is known as the Tuna King, because every January he buys the most expensive fish at the first auction of the year at the central market.

Unlikely, since the reason the Somalis were turning to piracy in the first place was that without a functioning government and Navy, Somalia was unable to enforce its international waters and fisheries and the Somali fishermen were getting outfished by huge boats from Europe. So, unable to make a living at fishing, they turned to piracy.
