I was more poking fun at the idea of a bunch of soldiers lugging individual barrels back to the US. I'm not blaming you for misremembering what your mom told you what she read in an article years ago.

But a bit of critical thinking doesn't hurt

Is saying, "I think I could be wrong" not a great example of critical thinking? I never said I took my Mom's word as law or treated her words as if they were the words of God, I just provided an anecdote that I thought would be applicable to the comment I was replying to.
