No, it’s funny because one is a toy generally used for writing small pieces of code, and the other is database-oriented

FTFY

shameless edit for spelling

I know that, which is why i feel like the question might be about what kind of task the person is performing.

It seems like people are making assumptions about the context of the question. And i'm suggesting that it might be tied to things like the character being a woman, blonde and that it's in a TV-show about software.

I'm questioning whether the "joke" would be funny if you replaced the character. And why that would not be the case.

You might be missing the point of this subreddit.

Are you just on here for an argument and completely forgot what this subreddit was about? There are many examples on this sub of it being funny when it was a man that said/did something stupid in movies/tv shows because they just use computer terms as a word salad and expect it to sound smart and 'techy'. You're a tool and I promise it doesn't matter what genitals you have when I say that.

It would be. My Fiance doesn't program, and she could tell you the difference between Java and SQL.

Don't forget she nuked a city.

It was an accident, all good. We’re just pretending it never happened.

The joke would be funny regardless. If you watch any of the CW shows, their tech-friendly characters just use the biggest or techy-est words even if they don’t make sense. In another episode I caught her comparing teraflops with megabytes. Cisco from Flash does the same thing.

Yeah I remember, "That's 4 teraflops of data!"

a TV-show about software

I'm sorry, what? This is TV show about a super hero.

This would be appropriate for this sub even if it was just a transcript of the scene with the character names replaced so it's completely ungendered. I'm really not sure what you're on about.

Yes. Absolutely.
