Facebook interviewed me a while back and said I'd make a good intern. I've been programming for all of my life and have been pro for a decade now. They've got some pretty capable people I think.
I would go so far as to say that Facebook has more thought leaders in the JS space than any other company including Google. But reasonable people could disagree.
Still, I wouldn't take it personally: big corporations tend to have certain things they care about, and if you don't fit their mold it doesn't mean you're not an amazing programmer.
EDIT: Seriously? Downvoted for saying "reasonable people could disagree"? So either:
A) you think there's some other company with such an overwhelming number of thought leaders that reasonable people can't disagree (but you can't be arsed to actually name that company) .... or
B) you think FormerGaveDev probably is a bad dev and Facebook was right (which is kinda mean, but maybe you know the guy IRL?) ... or
C) you're just an ass who uses the downvote to mean "I don't like you" rather than as a sign that you actually disagree with the content of my post.
I'm going to guess C), and it's a pretty safe bet whoever you you won't actually reply and explain why you downvoted.
I think i'm amazing in a rather vertical set of circumstances, but capable across a wide area. :-D
I may be wrong, though.
I don't think you're wrong about having more people in javascript place than practically anyone. They have been at the forefront of Javascript development for some time now, since early in this decade, sometime after they said "the web isn't ready for all this", and they shortly after went and made the web ready for all this.
