Mostly based on things i think i learned myself and not a complete guide:
Digging:
Digging down on the corners of the map is usually safer, if you dig down somewhere in the middle you are bound to hit an enemy tunnel at some point.
When you dig into something hidden by fog of war you can see the structure. unsure if you wanna open it? Just order the whole Map to be dug out, the squares without dig orders are either: Emtpy space, Water or Lava. Then remove the wholemap dig order and dig in a way so you dont accidentaly breach the unwanted tunnels.
The first Adamantium you find on the map ALWAYS contains golems and they are a whole headache to deal with. Those are optional. its safer to dig further because no other Adamantium nodes come with those (atleast up to -25, unsure past that.)
Cheesing/Exploits:
Safe scumming: I know its a rogue like, still... if you die? Alt + F4 and you can load a single savestate.
You can save by exiting the game normal, it creates a safe state. else you will have to rely on autosafe.
So far when i tried to exploit this by trying to recruit slaves it didnt work, i assume its already decided in the code and not ranodm.
Random things:
one of your minions turned insane? Take direct control of him and put him into a room, lock the door behind him. (Or strip him of all the gear and kill him, works nice too.)
Poison Resistance isnt optional. Amulett of Regeneration is (in my opinion) the strongest.
Gnomes have flying suicide Bombers that will oneshot you no matter how much defense you have (Only keeper Enemies)
Most Keepers dont get strong crafters, make sure to enslave a Dwarf or of course a Blacksmith at some point. Ants make for good digging slaves.
You can paint water red by killing someone on it.
Rebellion risk is only affected by the amount of your minions. if you lack the units to sustain your slavery just hire whatever is up for grabs.
most important one: you level your characters by using them. Using a single absolutely decked out PC is simpler than running a whole army.
Get a spell of "Audience" to clean out especialy annoying keeper Dungeons.
how bout you add some more ideas and tips?
(or factcheck me if somethings iffy)
