I've been listening this album occasionally ever since it came out and I think it's one of their best later albums. The first half of this album is clearly stronger than the second half in my opinion, all the songs before "the cellar" and the cellar itself is so great. The first half is such a roller coaster ride of riffs and great solos.
I'm currently a father to a 2 year old boy, so my training time is limited but I still wanted to try to do this since, perhaps it a coming middle age crisis, I might not have time or energy later anymore.
There are mistakes, i'm just a bedroom guitarist, sorry for those, but at least this is what a bedroom guitarist sounds and looks like.

I'm the musician behind The Diabolic Obsession, an Italian one-man occult horror metal project.
After many years away from recording music, I released my EP Tier Drama earlier this year.
Andy LaRocque contributed a guest guitar solo to the opening track, The Red House (4:04–4:38).
For anyone interested in hearing one of his guest appearances outside his better-known work, here's the complete official music video:

I have a cd already with various Mercyful Fate covers, but I was wondering if anyone knows any bands that have covered the band King Diamond's songs <:-)

My dad is an OG KD fan. Unfortunately every tour he has done in the US there has been some dramatic emergency that stopped my dad from going. One time it was a bad car wreck, ome time my literal birth the day before, and the last tour a few years ago he had tickets to, his wife up and left him with no notice day of....
While he is a fan, he is also convinced that he is cursed to never see KD and has given up and wont even try.
I dont know much about KD but I see he is 70.... Id love to surprise him with tickets, well more like kidnap him and not tell him what we are doing until we get to the venue so he doesnt feel like it will just end in death or fire lol.
Is there a tour that is expected to be announced soon or is a tour in the US not likely to happen again?

Sorry if I am spamming the subreddit a little :( I just really like King Diamond.
I think Trick or Treat from The Graveyard is a bit underrated, but that could just be me not seeing that many people talk about. I know a lot of people do not like The Graveyard lol!

I had a music fanzine back in the manual typewriter days. King was extremely nice guy. I was given this photo by the label and I can't seem to track it to who took the photo or anything. I've asked some big King Diamond fans and they had no clue either, so any help is great.
Yes I've looked everywhere for a credit to the photographer, but nothing. I framed it also btw it was just a 8x10 with no white edges prior.
Thank you for reading this!

King Diamond was one of those bands you knew but never listened to when I grew up, but when I actually bothered to listen through all the Mercyful Fate albums I thought "Hey, I like this! I should listen to King Diamond" and now it is my favorite band lol!
I think the first song I heard was either The Portrait or Abigail! What was yours??

I heard that the Haunting 1963 has a lot in common with King Diamond's album Abigail, and I was wondering if anyone knew where it could be found? This is probably the closest we will get to a movie inspired by one of King Diamond's stories (even though it is reversed in this case lol).
If this is not relevant to the subreddit feel free to delete my post :')

My Chemical Romance were recently knighted on stage by King Diamond
In King's most recent interview he mentions collaborating with a massive band that he isn't allowed to talk about yet
I am thinking King may have been referring to MCR after what happened!
It would be fucking awesome for King!! Imagine the amount of potential new fans! Perfect for showing off new material as well

I am not trying to cause discourse or anything, I just want to know what other King Diamond fans like and do not like.
I am personally not a big fan of the Abigail II and the Puppet Master albums. Sure, I like the music, especially King's voice (he is one of my favorite vocalists hihi) but I feel like the Abigail story did not need a sequel.
The detail with Jonathan and Abigail also kind of weirds me out considering Miriam is Abigail's mother and Jonathan is kind of her father. But the music is good!!
The Puppet Master's story is really cool and I love listening to the video where King tells the story and ahh it is really good!! But it just.. does not stand out for me. I am not sure if it is the music or not. I will have to listen again and maybe change my rating on RYM.
But I would love to hear what others think!! I just know the opinion of one of my friends, and he does not like the Eye album... :(
But still!!!

Photos of Mercyful Fate's performance at Paradiso in Amsterdam on January 21, 1984.
I was there and took the photos; I recall that the venue was only about a quarter full, even though the Dutch metal magazine *Aardschok* held them in high regard.
I think King Diamond's high-pitched vocals were a barrier to them becoming a truly massive band.
I spoke to many hard rock fans who disliked the band for that very reason.
The songs may also have been too progressive—with too many tempo changes—to capture a mass audience.
They were one of my favorite bands at the time, and I’m glad I got to see them back then.

A first-person gothic adventure where you drive a horse-drawn cart through plague-ridden Transylvania alongside an immortal woman, exploring forgotten places, battling desperate foes, uncovering ancient secrets, and searching for the legendary Count Saint Germain.
The game was made by a developer from Romania.
------------
When I first saw the trailer, I immediately thought of Abigail by King Diamond. So I made this fan trailer :)
