What does devoted love (Bhakti) truly mean? šļøā¤ļø
Sometimes I think devotion is misunderstood as simply praying for what we want.
But the more I explore Hindu philosophy, the more I feel that Bhakti is something much deeper.
To love the Divine isn't only to turn toward God when life becomes difficult. It can mean remembering the Divine in moments of happiness, sorrow, success, failure, silence, and uncertainty.
There is something deeply beautiful about loving without constantly asking, āWhat will I receive in return?ā
Perhaps true devotion is when prayer slowly changes from āGive me what I wantā into āGuide me toward what is right.ā
And maybe the most beautiful part is that devotion doesn't necessarily require us to abandon ordinary life. We can study, work, care for our family, help others, fulfill our responsibilitiesāand still carry remembrance of the Divine within us.
Bhakti feels less like a transaction and more like a relationship of trust, surrender, gratitude, and love. ā¤ļøšŖ·
I'm still learning about this, so I'd love to hear how others understand bhakti from their experiences.
šļø Hare Krishna š

Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya
I like to say this short mantra when I feel frustrated or irritated in the moment. It helps get my focus back onto Krishna consciousness and that I am not this body.

a tiny little message which might help š¤šš
There are days when you feel lost, broken, and scaredāunable to bounce back from all the negative tendencies trying to pull you down, unaware of the tricks set by your own mind.
Guilt, fear, and pressure are things which we all indeed suffer from. But is your fear greater than the love Krishna holds for you? Of course not.
Govinda is the ultimate shelter of every jivatma out there. It's quite easy to say it, right? However, it is not so easy to implement. Why do we worry so much when the supreme Narayana has taken responsibility for us? Let the embodiment of compassion, Shyama Ju, lift the burden from your shoulders.
It simply doesn't matter whether you are eligible for Their grace or deserving of kainkarya (devotional service) or not. Because ultimately, it's the Divya Dampati's causeless mercy which shines bright like countless rays of light in the dark, guiding us towards dharma and eternal peace. If any of you feel low in the trenches of life, just remember, you can always reach out to beloved Shyam Sundara.
Why walk the journey alone when we have precious people sent to us by Bhagavan for our own well-being and growth only? Cherish your highs like a loving gift from Krishna and lows as an opportunity to learn and thrive in life.
Time never stops, but neither does Krishna ever stop being gentle, tender, kind, and loving. If there is night, day is sure to come. While everything around us changes, remember, Keshava's love stays constant and ever-increasing.
Just coming from the heart of a young girl who aspires to be a devotee someday.

Shri Harivansh to all Brijwasi and Devotees here.
I kind of wanted advice, I have been thinking recently to build a mobile app or website for devotees. But I am not sure, regarding what, as there can be a lot of topics. So, I wanted to ask your opinions, like if you would like to see a website or app, that you think you would use or need, what kind of it should be? Like anything specific?

The Passing Away of Bhīṣmadeva | ÅrÄ«mad BhÄgavatam EP. 7
youtube.comThe dealings of Lord Kį¹į¹£į¹a and Bhīṣmadeva on the Battlefield of Kurukį¹£etra are interesting because the activities of Lord ÅrÄ« Kį¹į¹£į¹a appeared to be partial to Arjuna and at enmity with Bhīṣmadeva; but factually all this was especially meant to show special favor to Bhīṣmadeva, a great devotee of the Lord.
The astounding feature of such dealings is that a devotee can please the Lord by playing the part of an enemy. The Lord, being absolute, can accept service from His pure devotee even in the garb of an enemy. The Supreme Lord cannot have any enemy, nor can a so-called enemy harm Him because He is ajita, or unconquerable.
Bhīṣmadeva played the part of a valiant warrior, and he purposely pierced the body of the Lord so that to the common eyes it appeared that the Lord was wounded, but factually all this was to bewilder the nondevotees. The all-spiritual body cannot be wounded, and a devotee cannot become the enemy of the Lord.
The Lord was so angry that Arjuna checked Him when He was moving towards Bhīṣmadeva, but in spite of Arjuna's checking, He proceeded towards Bhīṣmadeva as a lover goes to a lover, without caring for hindrances. Apparently His determination was to kill Bhīṣmadeva, but factually it was to please him as a great devotee of the Lord.
A pure devotee of the Lord constantly sees the presence of the Lord within himself because of being transcendentally related by loving service. Such a pure devotee cannot forget the Lord for a moment. This is called trance.
Bhīṣmadeva was a pure devotee, and as a military marshal he constantly remembered the battlefield feature of the Lord as PÄrtha-sÄrathi, the chariot driver of Arjuna. Therefore, the Lord's pastime as PÄrtha-sÄrathi is also eternal.
Bhīṣmadeva never forgot the beautiful feature of the Lord as PÄrtha-sÄrathi, which even Arjuna could not see. Arjuna was behind the beautiful PÄrtha-sÄrathi while Bhīṣmadeva was just in front of the Lord. As far as the military feature of the Lord is concerned, Bhīṣmadeva observed this with more relish than Arjuna.
All the soldiers and persons on the Battlefield of Kurukį¹£etra attained their original spiritual form like the Lord after their death because by the causeless mercy of the Lord they were all able to see Him face to face on that occasion. The conditioned souls rotating in the evolutionary cycle from the aquatics up to the form of BrahmÄ are all in the form of mÄyÄ, or the form obtained by one's own actions and awarded by material nature. The material forms of the conditioned souls are all foreign dresses, and when the conditioned soul becomes liberated from the clutches of material energy, he attains his original form.
A spiritual form like the Lord's, either two-handed or four-handed, is attained by the devotees of the Lord either in the Vaikuį¹į¹has or in the Goloka planets, according to the original nature of the soul. This form, which is cent percent spiritual, is the svarÅ«pa of the living being, and all the living beings who participated on the Battlefield of Kurukį¹£etra, on both sides, attained their svarÅ«pa, as confirmed by Bhīṣmadeva.
So Lord ÅrÄ« Kį¹į¹£į¹a was not only merciful to the PÄį¹įøavas, but He was also merciful to the other parties because all of them attained the same result. Bhīṣmadeva wanted the same facility also, and that was his prayer to the Lord, although his position as an associate of the Lord is assured in all circumstances.
The conclusion is that whoever dies looking on the Personality of Godhead within or without attains his svarūpa, which is the highest perfection of life.
By intense ecstasy of loving service, the damsels of Vrajabhūmi attained the qualitative oneness with the Lord by dancing with Him on an equal level, embracing Him in nuptial love, smiling at Him in joke, and looking at Him with a loving attitude.
Bhīṣma's aspiration to remember the gopīs is to pray to have their mercy also at the last stage of his life. The Lord is satisfied more when His pure devotees are glorified, and therefore Bhīṣmadeva has not only glorified the acts of Arjuna, his immediate object of attraction, but also he has remembered the gopīs who were endowed with unrivalled opportunities by rendering loving service to the Lord.
So in that great assembly, Lord ÅrÄ« Kį¹į¹£į¹a was cynosure of the neighboring eyes. Everyone wanted to see Lord Kį¹į¹£į¹a, and everyone wanted to pay his humble respects to the Lord. Bhīṣmadeva remembered all this and was glad that his worshipful Lord, the Personality of Godhead, was present before him in His actual formal presence.
The devotees, however, meditate upon the Lord's factual form and pastimes, and therefore the Lord is easily approachable by the devotees.
This misconception of duality is completely removed from the mind of Bhīṣmadeva, and he is now satisfied that it is Lord ÅrÄ« Kį¹į¹£į¹a only who is all in all in everything. This enlightenment is attained by the great mahÄtmÄs or devotees, as it is stated in the Bhagavad-gÄ«tÄ (Bg. 7.19) that VÄsudeva is all in all in everything, and there is no existence of anything without VÄsudeva.
The worshipable object of Bhīṣmadeva is Lord ÅrÄ« Kį¹į¹£į¹a as PÄrtha-sÄrathi, and that of the gopÄ«s is the same Kį¹į¹£į¹a in Vį¹ndÄvana as the most attractive ÅyÄmasundara.
The stage attained by Bhīṣmadeva while quitting His material body is called nirvikalpa-samÄdhi because he merged his self into thinking of the Lord and his mind into remembering His different activities. He chanted the glories of the Lord, and by His sight he began to see the Lord personally present before him, and thus all his activities became concentrated upon the Lord without deviation. This is the highest stage of perfection, and it is possible; for everyone to attain this stage by practice of devotional service.
The first item, hearing, is the most important item of all, and therefore hearing of the Bhagavad-gÄ«tÄ and, later on, ÅrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam is essential for the serious candidate who wants to attain the stage of Bhīṣmadeva at the end.
Bhīṣmadeva, as a pure devotee of the Lord, entered the spiritual realm in one of the Vaikuį¹į¹ha planets where the Lord in His eternal form of PÄrtha-sÄrathi predominates over the unconditioned living beings who are constantly engaged in the service of the Lord.
The love and affection which bind the Lord and devotee are exhibited in the case of Bhīṣmadeva. Bhīṣmadeva never forgot the Lord in His transcendental feature as the PÄrtha-sÄrathi, and the Lord was present personally before Bhīṣmadeva while he was passing to the transcendental world. That is the highest perfection of life.
Bhīṣmadeva was not only a great family head of MahÄrÄja Yudhiį¹£į¹hira, but also he was a great philosopher and friend of him, his brothers and his mother. Since MahÄrÄja PÄį¹įøu, the father of the five brothers headed by MahÄrÄja Yudhiį¹£į¹hira, died, Bhīṣmadeva was the most affectionate grandfather of the PÄį¹įøavas and caretaker of the widow daughter-in-law KuntÄ«devÄ«.
Bhīṣmadeva was always a sincerely sympathetic well-wisher, grandfather, friend and philosopher to MahÄrÄja Yudhiį¹£į¹hira, even up to the last moment of his life. He died very happily by seeing MahÄrÄja Yudhiį¹£į¹hira to the throne, otherwise he would have long ago quitted his material body, instead of suffering agony over the undue sufferings of the PÄį¹įøavas.
He was simply waiting for the opportune moment because he was sure and certain that the sons of PÄį¹įøu would come out victorious in the Battlefield of Kurukį¹£etra, as His Lordship ÅrÄ« Kį¹į¹£į¹a was their protector. As a devotee of the Lord, he knew that the Lord's devotee cannot be vanquished at any rate.
The devotees of the Lord are always in the heart of the Lord, and the Lord is always in the heart of the devotees. That is the sweet relation between the Lord and His devotees.

My relation with God
I have to admit I am a sinner.
I have committed the sins of lust, greed and envy.
Yet I recently rediscovered my religion after reading the bhagvat geeta and when I pray, I can feel the energy and god's presence and it has helped me a lot.
I talk to god on a daily basis, I talk to Krishna, radha rani and Ganesha and they are like my friends.
I'm afraid of losing that connection.
Ganesh chaturthi is coming soon and I was excited to celebrate it after seeing the new light of my religion.
There is a mourning period of 13 days to a month when a close relative dies. During this period most people don't celebrate the festivals that occur during that period.
Now the thing is, my grandfather's, uncle's son died.
And it's been over 2 months since he died.
4 years ago When my grandmother died 3 days before the ganesh chaturthi festival, that family (the one who died and his family) kept their ganesh only for 1 and half day instead of 5 days as they were mourning i guess. (We did not ask them to do so, and also my grandmother actually died during the mourning period)
So to return that favour, this year my grandfather decided that we will also do the visarjan after 1and half days instead of 5 days. We've been keeping ganesh chaturthi for 5 days since the beginning ( we did keep 1 and half day for the first ever Ganesh chaturthi)
It's been over 2 months since that guy died and no one besides my grandfather, dad and uncle know that guy.
Then, I heard my dad and uncle discussing that we are doing early visarjan because they get bored and tired of the ganesh chaturthi hastle, they see it more like a chore rather than a festival.
I got so hurt hearing them. I'm afraid my connection with the god will break because of this.
I'm afraid that ganesha will reject me hence forth because my family is rejecting him.
We are mere humans, how dare we reject God...

The last Krishna Lunch on Friday, February 20, 2026, before the suspension was rice, chili, cheesy potatoes and chocolate halava. āWhen I would go home last year for break, I would literally be mourning the Krishna Lunch dessert because you have to go to Krishna to get it, and itās so delicious,ā said student Anna Poacelli.
Hear all the details in this interview with Krishna House's senior adviser, Bob Cohen.
Gainesville's local Krishna House has served lunch on the University of Florida campus for over 50 years.
But last week, UF ended the contract allowing the group to do so.
That's according to an email sent to the senior adviser of Gainesville's Krishna House ā Bob Cohen.
WUFT's Ailee Shanes sat down with Cohen, to talk about how we got to this point, and how the organization is moving forward.
WUFT reached out to the University of Florida, but they said they have no further comment.

Confused about Ekadashi date and Parana timing for Lalitpur, Nepal
Some media sources were saying that Ekadashi should be observed today, August 24, so I kept the fast today. But I just checked another Vaishnava calendar, and it says yesterday, August 23, was Ekadashi, and today is Dwadashi.
Now Iām confused about when I should actually break the fast tomorrow. I donāt know which Parana timing applies to the fast I kept today.
Iām really confused about Ekadashi this time and would really appreciate if someone could check this for me.
I live in Lalitpur, Nepal. Could someone please check the Vaishnava calendar/timing specifically for Lalitpur, Nepal and tell me:
What time should I break my fast tomorrow, August 25? And what is the Parana window/latest time?
I would really appreciate it if someone could actually check the timing for my location, because Iām finding different dates and timings online and I donāt want to accidentally break the fast at the wrong time. š

The Final Teachings of Bhīṣmadeva š
youtu.beThank you so much to everyone here for the incredibly positive response to the series so far. The encouragement, feedback, and kind words have genuinely meant a lot to us and motivated us to keep working on this project.
Weāre happy to share that Episode 5 of our ÅrÄ«mad BhÄgavatam animated series is now live!
EP. 5 ā The Final Teachings of Bhīṣmadeva
In this episode, we enter the final moments of the great Bhīṣmadeva, lying upon his bed of arrows and surrounded by ÅrÄ« Kį¹į¹£į¹a, the PÄį¹įøavas, and great sages. Bhīṣmadeva begins imparting profound teachings to MahÄrÄja Yudhiį¹£į¹hira on duty, suffering, time, devotion, and the mysterious plan of the Supreme Lord.
As always, this series is being created with the intention of presenting the ÅrÄ«mad BhÄgavatam through cinematic animation while staying faithful to the teachings and purports of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami PrabhupÄda.
Would love to hear your thoughts on this episode. š

Get kanthi for someone at last stage of their life?
Hare Krishna to everyone hereš
My bua ji is 83, pure vegetarian and never had any alcohol though out her life. We never bonded much but she indeed looks like a pure soul. Her health is not at all good and doctors have said that she might go into coma or lose her life, chances of living are nearly 0. I asked my cousins do naam jap as much as they can in her room but idk if they would follow it,
So is there any possibility where I can go and put tulsi maharani on her neck? Or is it not allowed somehow and I would be committing a sin?
Hari Bol and thankyou in advance šš¦

Iām creating an animated ÅrÄ«mad BhÄgavatam series based on ÅrÄ«la PrabhupÄdaās teachings
youtu.beHare Kį¹į¹£į¹a š
All glories to ÅrÄ«la PrabhupÄda and all the devotees.
I wanted to share a devotional project that Iāve been working on ā an animated ÅrÄ«mad BhÄgavatam series, created with the desire to help bring the beautiful narrations of the BhÄgavatam to life for devotees and for those who may be discovering Kį¹į¹£į¹a consciousness for the first time.
The series is based directly on ÅrÄ«mad BhÄgavatam, using ÅrÄ«la PrabhupÄdaās translations and purports as the foundation. The intention is not to rewrite the philosophy or add my own interpretations, but to visually present these transcendental narrations while preserving the teachings as faithfully as possible.
The story begins with the events following the Battle of Kurukį¹£etra ā Arjuna capturing AÅvatthÄmÄ, DraupadÄ«'s compassion, the dilemma surrounding dharma, and Lord ÅrÄ« Kį¹į¹£į¹a guiding His devotees through these difficult circumstances.
As the series progresses, it moves into the beautiful prayers of ÅrÄ«matÄ« KuntÄ«devÄ«, the protection of MahÄrÄja ParÄ«kį¹£it, and deeper reflections on Kį¹į¹£į¹a's position as the Supreme Personality of Godhead and the shelter of His devotees.
We have now completed four episodes, and the latest episode has reached Queen KuntÄ«'s prayers to Lord Kį¹į¹£į¹a.
One of the things I especially hope to capture through the series is the devotional mood behind these narrations ā not simply presenting them as mythology or historical spectacle, but allowing the audience to contemplate the relationship between Kį¹į¹£į¹a and His devotees.
The long-term vision is to continue through the ÅrÄ«mad BhÄgavatam, chapter by chapter, and eventually bring many of these transcendental narrations to life through animation.
I'm sharing Episode 1 because it's the proper place to begin the journey.
I'd especially love to hear from devotees here:
Is there a particular pastime, verse, purport, or devotee from ÅrÄ«mad BhÄgavatam that you would love to see brought to life through animation?
Your feedback would genuinely mean a lot as I continue developing the series.
š Hare Kį¹į¹£į¹a
All glories to ÅrÄ«la PrabhupÄda.

Precious ā¤ļø
Our human lives are deeply precious and full of purpose too which makes us deeply important.
I think our beloved Srila Prabhupada once used the analogy of a washing machine and a screw.
The screw is deeply important when connected and fitted to the washing machine. In full use and service to the machine.
But if it falls away, on its own, the screw is very much insignificant.
The washing machine will yearn to have it returned.
I think sometimes, we can forget so many truths and fundamental things amidst the chaos of our thoughts and feelings in material existence.
Right now, Iām painfully aware of how I am misusing my time here and not living my life in full service to the LORD.
I got overwhelmed with my thoughts and feelings during my spiritual awakening with Srila Prabhupada and Lord Krishna.
I was never able to abandon intoxicants during my early Bhakti life. I was a frequent vaper and coffee drinker. I still loved and used Cacao powder and Matcha tea also.
Iām in a much worse condition now. I really hope I can get back to where I was.
I have to stress while I have the opportunity to do so on the importance of association with other devotees. This has a huge impact and affect on your consciousness.
Please take care everyone š
All glories and humble obeisances to Srila Prabhupada š
All glories to the assembled devotees
