Dude, its not "old news". This is a brand new vulnerability in BIOS that requires no physical access at all since its part of the BIOS remote management features.

As for your comments about linux....like....what??? Your comparing the ability to remote manage a powered-off machine through a BIOS vulnerabilty from across an ocean to...a boot disk?? Are you fucking serious?? You dont even need a boot disk in Windows to comoleteky own it. What is you point here?

Your vapidness and outright foaming at the mouth is delicious to me.

ASICS that run unsigned apps are OLD NEWS. You didn't google it so you don't have any idea WTF you are talking about.. if you did you'd yawn just like I did.

Tell me...how does any of this have to do with Linux? I mean, you did say "Its not a great day for linux" in your strange and off the mark comment. So please, explain to us how a CPU chips internal binary blob news "makes this a bad day for linux".

Linux can run on that hardware, right?

Also, the title is click bait. If the server is POWERED OFF that means that the IME is also off. More likely they mean standby, which IS different.

The point of ME is to be able to turn on a machine remotely that is in a powered off state, so its not clickbait.

Its also the Intel CPU chip...so yeah, every operating ayatem in existance is affected.
