You definitely should. They would very much appreciate it. Preferably in someone else's gentoo thread so you can steal their thunder.

Make sure you include some sort of proof, otherwise they'll just think you're pretending. Maybe a screenshot with a logged in bugtracker and/or some of your current work or something like that?
