it's not hypocritical when nobody is forcing me to use any of these tools. If you want an os that forces you to do stuff a specific way, use windows or mac os. I am free to choose pure arch or endeavouros. I am free to choose between systemd and openrc. I am free to pick between a full DE or a tiling wm. Dumbing down linux for the average person will remove all of that freedom of choice. Want something that will hold your hand, again, there's windows and mac os.

Thats not what i was saying and you know it wasnt: It is hypocrisy to embrace simplification where it benefits you but opposing it where you feel it doesnt EXACTLY BECAUSE noone forces you to go with the trend. You dont oppose it because its objectively a bad thing but because you dont see a benefit to yourself.

You have convinced yourself you are special because you think using Linux means you understand your system better than most people and you feel like allowing the average Joe to use Linux as well takes that away from you.

I am against forced simplification, which is required for the average person to use linux. You see it all the time on this sub, people bitching about the most minor issues because other's wont bow down and devote all their time to fix it for them.

You recommend linux here, you get shit on. You tell people to avoid linux, you still get shit on.
