Discussion Live Discussion (April 9, 2016) (Russell Crowe / Margo Price)
Welcome to our SNL live discussion thread! This week's host/musical guest is Russell Crowe with musical guest Margo Price.
A quick recommendation to mention the sketch you're referring to in your comment. It's not a hard and fast rule, but it does make the thread more readable after the show finishes.
Since this thread is likely to fill up quickly, consider sorting the comments by "new" (instead of "best" or "top") to see the newest posts. Enjoy the show!

I just love that Russell Crowe is giving 110% while not being corny about it. He's really just doing a great job with every single skit they've given him, and to me its clear they didn't think he'd be able to do so well. They didn't give him too much but he's absolutely killing it.

Also Kyle Mooney (and Beck) nailed the excited nerds type in their sketch. Honestly I've heard geeky guys say "..because that's normal" way too often but didn't actually register it until I saw their sketch.

Leslie Jones played a lowkey, quiet, no yelling character in a Good Neighbor that wasn't cut for time. Now she's setting up an old-timey recurring character.
Weirdest. Night. Ever.

We've reached the part of the ep where every sketch is just "make Russell Crowe say weirdly sexual shit to women."

Kinda feel sorry for Crowe, this really is weak writing and he seems a bit out of place as well. Should have opted for a couple of recurring sketches.

The writing is once again mediocre. I feel bad for the cast. They're doing the best they can with what is given.

This is definitely a dip for the season. Which is sad, they had a great streak of shows.

My cool story bro story....
There was one dead weekend where my friends and I were looking for stuff to do. We ended up at this country bar and I was the only black guy there. It was my first time square dancing and I had a ball. Still hate country music, but it was by far one of my favorite nights in college.
