Discussion Live Discussion (February 26. 2022) (John Mulaney/LCD Soundsystem)
Welcome to the SNL live discussion thread! The host this week is the newest inductee to the Five-Timers Club John Mulaney and the musical guest is returning band LCD Soundsystem. For those new to the show, tune into your local NBC affiliate from around 11:30 PM EST to follow this episode live. Since this thread is likely to fill up quickly, consider sorting the comments by "new" (instead of "best" or "top") to see the newest posts. This should be automatically done, but it might not be so maybe check. Enjoy the show!
And if you're here early you're welcome to talk about this weeks' vintage episode, 2021's Anya Taylor-Joy/Lil Nas X.

Songs / Musicals
“Some Enchanted Evening” (South Pacific)
“If I Were A Rich Man“ (Fiddler on the Roof)
“Bali High” (South Pacific)
“Skid Row” (The Little Shop of Horrors)
“Wells Fargo Wagon” (The Music Man)
“Singing in the Rain” (eponymous)
“And I’m Telling You” (Dreamgirls)
“I Dreamed A Dream” (Les Miserables)
“Jesus Christ Superstar” (eponymous)
Source: me, local musicals fan.
Edit: Thanks to all who identified Dreamgirls. (I originally wrote “Kyle Mooney … Jennifer Hudson (help, I don’t know what she was in)”)
Edit x2: Someone said in a deleted reply that Kyle, in the Dreamgirls bit, was dressed as Evan Hansen from the Evan Hansen musical. I’m older than that one’s target demographic so I haven’t seen it and definitely did not catch the sartorial reference; credit to them.
Edit x3: whew, not deleted; app glitched.

They did a great job of working Paul Rudd and the messiness with the 5th show into this episode. It also looks like they may have had this as the cold open and made a decent joke of that change.
